The switch shifts easily between a console and a handheld like no other device before it. Good selection of games too.

At a glance, the Switch may sound like a revised take on the Wii U's gamepad, wherein users could take their game away from the TV. However, the Switch takes things a step above and beyond by allowing you to go anywhere, even outside the house to keep playing. While the size and shape may be tricky for those with larger hands (myself included), the weight is scarcely an issue and the Joy-cons remain firmly locked into the console to ensure no unwanted drops occur. For both Mario and Zelda fans, this is a great system to enjoy the newest entries for both series.

Easy to use, lots of fun. Dad and kids play for hours. They can play alone as doubles or link up and play with groups of kids.

I’m not much of a gamer. I don’t play Xbox, or pc games, or PlayStation much. I’m not good with all those buttons on those systems. And to be fair, I only play Zelda. Breath of the wild. It’s perfect for someone who grew up on the legend of Zelda, and Donkey Country...a Super Nintendo boy. The graphics are great! Love the size, how easy it fits in my hands. And I’ve yet to connect to my tv for game play on a large 4K tv. I’ve waited 3 years to purchase a Switch. But I’m glad I finally did! On a side note, I was surprised that it was a bit difficult to find one in stock. When I found in stock at my local Best Buy, they were closed. So I was there first thing in the morning, only to have a little girl of probably 6 on line in front of me with her parents. Needless to say, she got the last one in stock there. Thankfully, there was one at another Best Buy near by. And I am proud owner of my third Nintendo gaming system in the three decades that I’ve been playing video games. Well done Nintendo!

I purchased this or shall I say Santa purchase this for my step-son this Christmas. Wii console actually having an LCD screen and being standalone while also being able to plug into the TV and something new and improved for any old school gamer like myself. The games are very fluid and I'd have not noticed any real lag. In comparison to the other consoles such a PlayStation or the Xbox you will obviously see a degradation in video quality however the trade-off in portability is worth while.

We weren't sure what to think of the Switch after the whole WiiU debacle (which is actually a good console poorly maintained), but went out and got this basically for 2 games, Zelda and Mario Odyssey. These notes are from the teens that actually use the console. Pluses: 1. It's quick. Not having a disc means the games load much faster than the other consoles. 2. It's portable. You don't lose any playability by taking it with you. 3. It's pretty. The graphics are going to win any hyper realistic awards, but the colors are bold and strong. 4. It's fun. They're only a few days into it, but those two games are providing a lot of play time. Cons: 1. The screen is smaller than we all thought. For portability I'm sure, but I was expecting something along the 10" screen size. Even the kids thought it was bigger than it actually is. 2. It's kind of flimsy. All the slots and grooves are plastic and designed to connect easily and they do. However, if you're a little off track it's easy to mistake the misalignment with the latching design and force it. More of something to adjust to than a true flaw, but with teens it's going to be interesting to see how well it holds up.

    Great Console

Pros -great concept for handling portability -Controllers feel great as solo pieces in left and right hand -surprised and very happy at having the motion control in this console -battery life for console and controllers is amazing considering the technology -Looking forward to more games coming out for this console Cons -no good case to hold console yet while also working with Hub -unique controller with a battery life meaning you have to go out and buy a Joy Con Charging Grip to keep playing on big screen while the controllers charge in the grip. -No button on controllers can turn the Nintendo Switch on. You always have to go up to the console and hit the power button. All in all, this is a great system so don't get me wrong, there are minor flaws you can work with easily. The one game you have to buy with this console though is, hands down, The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of The Wild. I've played it twice already at 30 hours and 60 hours respectively. I will be going back to this game to experience all the DLC for the first time after I beat Xenoblade Chronicles 2 which is also another great game surprisingly. Finally, don't be surprised when you take out your first game from its case after buying this console. The game cartridges are small like a SD card for a camera only a little bigger and thicker.

    A gaming device for adults

I can talk about how nicely it feels on your hands. How "premium" it looks. How great Zelda, Splatoon 2 and Xenoblade 2 are. How snappy the OS is. All of those things are true, but they miss the point. What Switch has done for me is give me my hobby back. With the home-mobile being so seamless, so instantaneous, I've played more games for more hours on Switch this year than last 3-5 years of gaming combined. Switch feels like a device for adults in that it fits into my lifestyle, and not the other way around. We've already bought a second in my house.

The Nintendo Switch is a great portable and console gaming system for all ages. Going from docked to portable is super simple and seamless. My only gripe is the battery life as most games last typically between 2-4 hours on a single charge. However, charging is very simple and quick as the system uses a USB-C charging port. The Switch is great for long car or plane rides as well and usually catches other people's attention. More games will be coming, but the selection out there will certainly keep you busy for at least a few weeks without flinching. I would also highly recommend getting the Pro Controller if you are used to gaming on other consoles. Using the Joy-cons is really only great for handheld gaming, not prolonged docked use. Highly recommended.
