Customers commend the 9" Dual Screen Portable DVD Player for its excellent picture quality and ease of use, finding it a good value for the price and great for keeping children entertained during travel. However, some customers reported issues with low volume, DVD playback problems, and the straps' effectiveness. The lack of a rechargeable battery was also a point of concern for several users.

This is product was features as a “Deal of the Day”. The savings was significant and ended up being a great purchase. However, if it were full price, I would not have bought it. We purchased this product to occupy our children during road trips. The OPERATION of this product will likely need teenage/ADULT assistance. We connected the audio through our vehicles sound system and it made the experience better. Packaging: The packaging contains useless information. Most images were stock photos that didn’t include the product and the text on the box left many unanswered questions. The only helpful image was box is the drawn schematic for vehicle layout. Accessories: Remote control, Power cords for home and auto, inter-unit connection cables 56 inches long, two headphones, headrest straps, storage bag, and instruction manual. Remote Control: DO NOT LOSE THE REMOTE!!! The screens lack the ability to control many of the features needed to play movies and adjust settings. The remote ONLY WORKS ON THE MAIN UNIT and the layout of buttons could be improved. The play/pause button is not easily identifiable. Power Cords: Both AC plug and DC car adaptor, there is no battery for the unit and it must be plugged in to operate. Headphones: Inexpensive, lower quality than I would use. Storage Bag: Inexpensive, no padding oversized for equipment. Manual: English, French. DVD Unit: 1 lb. 9-1/8 oz. (713g), kickstand for home use. Using the remote will allow you access to multiple settings. Monitor: 15-3/4 oz. (447g) View angle: Stable image when tiled left and right, highly variable when tilted up or down. The narrow view angle is better when the screen is tilted slightly down. Picture quality: Medium. Not the best, not the worst. Adequate for driving in a car. Contract ratio low. Audio quality: Tinny, each screen has a volume control. However, the DVD unit has the master control

This is my 3rd try at a portable dvd player. The other 2 (RCA and some other off brand) skipped on interstates. This did not. Easy to install. Great price. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that we had 1 movie that the volume would not go up high enough.

Read the other reviews and agree that the sound could be much better (especially on the 2nd monitor)... only used them once but found easy set up and great picture. Kept my kids entertained. I have a large van so bought 2 sets...one thing I didn't like was all of the cords, but I guess you can't get around that. Got them on sale so for me - great value!

We got this on clearance...it isn't very loud so we had to buy speakers to connect to it but it's great other than that! The straps are not long enough if you have 1 kid rear facing and 1 frontward facing..

Great DVD player with dual screens. Fairly easy to use & liked that remote & earphones were included. Only issue was too many wires to plug in or keep track of what goes where

Not a bad purchase if you want to keep the kids occupied on long car trips. Perfect size with two 9 inch screens and simple buttons for the kids to play DVD's.

I picked this up as it was on sale and have been looking for one for quite awhile to keep the kids entertained during long road trips. So far it has worked well. I have two complaints: 1) The straps to attach it to the head rest are a bit difficult to thread through the back of the unit, I had to use a very small screwdriver to aid in this. 2) The unit does not continue on where is left off after the truck has been shut off. Both are not a really big deal to me, just items I feel could be improved.

I purchased the dual screen portable DVD player to put in my minivan to keep my kids distracted during road trips...they are still rear facing so the factory installed TVs are pointless! The DVD player works as expected. My only compliant is that when the DVD player is turned off it starts the DVD from the beginning instead of where you left off. I knew this before I purchased it, so it was expected. It's just annoying when you have two little ones waiting not so patiently for their movie to resume!

We had the older model of these DVD players from about 5 yrs ago. They worked great in every way, but finally stopped working. Purchased these new ones, which are bigger screens and I would have expected them to be an upgrade overall. I would say they are not an upgrade but they do the job. The main problem is the volume. One of the monitors has a volume that scrolls up to 20, and you can barely hear it. The other monitor has a different volume set-up and it's a volume bar that goes to 25. Seems strange that the volumes work differently for each monitor, and go to different levels. The other minor problem is the straps to hold them on only go horizontally and don't really hold the monitors on well. The system we originally had from several years ago had a very good strap installation, much much better than these new ones. Simple solution was to order different straps on Amazon and those work great.

A lot of the negative reviews are from people expecting a factory entertainment package that costs a lot of money from the manufacturers. For the price u pay on this it's well worth it and does the job. Easy to set up too. Highly recommended for someone to keep their kids entertained and not looking to pay big bucks.

Even though right out of the box one of the screens was not working this portable DVD player was great for the car ride to the beach! When we got back because we had our Geek Squad protection and it was a manufacturer's defect Best Buy did an even exchange with no hassle! We have yet to see them both working out of the box but I'm sure that it's just a fluke as we have had other portable DVD players that did not perform as well as these did.

The player does great. It doesn't skip and is very easy for my 7 year old to operate. The only downside is the many cables it takes to operate both. Wish it was wireless it would be a tremendous feature. Tbe sound and picture quality are very good. For the price it is a good value.

Very good system. Great for road trips. Can't speak much to the video quality as we used it for our kids in the back seat. But it seemed to be pretty good when we set it up. Set up was a little difficult only because the directions weren't totally clear. We were only able to get the system to play with the wall charger. Fortunately we had a car adapter that had a typical pronged outlet. Unfortunately we couldn't plug that and the GPS in at the same time (more indicative of the adapter than the system though). The straps used to connect the system to the headrests did the job but the screens didn't feel that secure. I would have preferred at least dual straps that connect the screens both across the headerests horizontally and vertically (making an "T" of sorts on the headrest). But overall the system was great for a 14 hr car ride and worth the investment.

Some of the reviews indicated that every time it restarted, it restarted from beginning. I've had no such problems, it has always restarted from where it left off. The only problem is that my small grandchildren don't like to wear ear buds so I'm having to get over the ear headphones. Oversize no complaints. Very good quality for price.

... But comes up very short when it comes to playing digital files off of a usb drive or memory card. Generally able to play my .AVI files but couldn't play any of my .MP4, .MKV, or .MPG files even after I tinkered with some conversion tools to try and find possible playable formats and setups. Instead, would have to burn those files onto DVD's to play them which is doable but meh... Can't complain though, only paid $40 bucks (sale price) for the set. So if actual "DVD" playing is what you're looking for, these will work great for you. Feel lightweight and fragile yet so far seem pretty sturdy as I haven't been that delicate with them and everything's still working fine.
