Primarily use this for the phone but it's nice knowing I have other options as well. It comes with a lot of great features and is easy to use. This is my first smartphone so I don't have much to compare it to but I find that it's great and the perfect size. Another family member has the Nokia Lumia 635 which she uses more than a phone and she loves it. It is slightly bigger than the 530 but I find the 530 is the perfect size and has just as many features. Highly recommend the Nokia Lumia 530!

I have lumia 521 and got this one for my wife. It has even more options than 521. Love it, never had problems with it. Everything works great, fast and most important for cheap. I use prepaid minutes and skype with free wifi.

Windows vs. Android phones

This Nokia is a Windows phone. I found it less intuitive to use than my previous Android phone. Also, it does not hold a charge as long as my previous Huawei T-Mobile Android phone. This might be because this Nokia phone uses the 4G network vs. 3G for my previous phone. There are significantly fewer apps for Windows phones than Android or iPhones. But for a basic phone, it is OK.

It's not a bad phone but for a few dollars more you can get a 635 which has many more features. But if you have to have this phone based on price do your research and know what you're getting into. As I said it's not a bad phone for the price, but keep your expectations in check.

Good upgrade to 4G, battery life on standby seems short. Good audio quality.
Offers a lot of 'smart-phone' features current. Functions maybe OS time limited unless OS is upgradeable from Windows 8. May suffer from compatibility with other devices that other smart phones offer.

Love it so far, it work great and glad to be introduced to windows 8. Easy navigation and use. This is the first smartphone and serving much more purpose than expected. I have to recharge often than my non smartphone but guess it is worth it because of its many function.

Bought it as a backup to my current Virgin Mobile smartphone. T-Mobile uses different cell towers so expands usage geography. I like that it uses WiFi for cell calls whenever available. Good for backup phone using T-Mobile's $3.00/month plan ($.10 a minute for cellular calls & Text Messages, deducting from the $3.00.) Use as smartphone on WiFi for free. Surf the net, read email with no data limit on WiFi. Not crazy about Windows operating system. I'm all-Apple computers but find Android easier to use than Windows. Maybe I'll get used to it.

I really enjoy having a Windows 8.1 operating system just like my computer has. It makes them very compatible. This was my first smartphone and find it very easy to use. I love the fact that it is a no-contract phone, too.

Just don't look at anything else. If you need a solid "phone", this will serve your purpose and delight you most of the time.
We are not into much voice assistance and all but this works great while driving and works our GPS. The driving mode is a god send. Helped my wife not to get distracted while driving.
Plenty of space for games when you add a micro sd.

This phone is great for talk and text, falls slightly short with using data due to the OS it runs. Nothing against windows, but they still need more apps. It's overall great otherwise. No front facing camera. Good for people who upgrade from a dumbphone to a smartphone

Screen is on the small side, but resolution is very good. I have a problem with the keyboard as my fingers are large and it is quite small, but the software is very intuitive which makes texting easy even though the keys are hard to hit correctly. VERY good value!!!!!

I Purchased this phone for my 10 year son to play games and to make necessary calls...he is not excited about this phone at all and he was not able to install all of his favorite games...the screen, apps. & fonts are dull & boring....but it serves the purpose!

I purchased this phone as a backup for my existing phone. I use it for times when I don't want to take my larger phone with me. This is a great phone for the price. If you are interested in learning about the Windows Phone OS I would definitely pick this up.

Windows Phone takes a little getting used to but works well once you know how to use it. Got it for a cheap Tmobile smartphone that can text and browse. No front facing camera which is a bummer.

Can't beat it price wise. A little hard to navigate all the features in the beginning. I really like the wifi calling feature, I use my home network for calls and data. Saves a bunch on minutes.

I kinda like the UI. It's really growing on me. For such a lot price, I find it offers a lot. It offered so much my friend's daughter took a liking to it and now has it. She's nineteen. I also got one for my father who likes Windows. He likes it as well. This is an update to my last review and I'm pleased to say I would still recommend this device without question.
