Customers recognize the 2-Tuner Digital Video Recorder's Wi-Fi capability as a significant advantage, enabling wireless streaming to multiple TVs and eliminating satellite bills. They also praise its ease of setup and user-friendly interface. However, some users have reported issues with recording quality, including instances of incomplete recordings and occasional interruptions. Addressing these recording concerns would improve the overall user experience.

Tablo works perfectly. Easily navigation and streaming to my roku. Only downside is having to pay a subscription for having TV guide data for more than a day in advance.

Been using it for a few weeks now and it seems to be working well. The only down fall is the subscription fee. Free over the air tv should have free guide services.

I've tried to use the Tablo DVR a few times here and there, but could never successfully connect to it with anything! It always says Tablo Update Required and therefore can't connect to it! I can never get it to update in order to connect, because the Apps won't connect; because it's not updated. The only way to update is through the Apps that won't connect. So, it just sits there with a solid blue light and never does a thing!

    Buyer Beware

I purchased the Tablo directly from the company in September 2014. I was a huge supporter of the product. Unfortunately I have had numerous issues with the device and have lost all of my recordings numerous times. The latest problem I am having is the device indicates that I have poor reception when I try to tune into a channel. It will not record or show live TV. When I disconnect the hard drive, live TV will display. This has been a recurring problem. So far the only fix I have found is factory resetting the system, which causes the system to reformat the hard drive and I lose all of the recordings. Tablo support wants to blame the hard drive, despite the fact that the drive meets the criteria on their web site and the hard drive will play recordings without any problem. If you buy this product, be prepared for the frustration that comes with very immature products.

    Fantastic Product

I have not experienced any of the issues that the others indicate. I have only had a great experience with this product. Setup was super fast an easy, i connect this to my TV with a Roku 3. It takes about 5 seconds to load the TV station when watching live TV so a little slower than if you had cable or satellite but not having to pay a bunch of money is worth it. I researched all the OTA DVR products on the market, by far the best bang for your buck. I purchased this about 2 months ago. Highly recommend it.

    Great for cord cutters

I bought the 2 tuner Tablo TV, along with a Clearstream antenna, hooked them up and downloaded the Tablo app for Roku. I now get better than cable HD quality on all the network and local stations, 2000 hours of HD recording time on Tablo, and I can access it from any tv with a Roku attached. I am VERY impressed, and it was only a small investment to never pay for cable again! PRO's -Never pay for cable again -Whole house DVR with 2000 hours of HD recording -Can use wireless (works great, I tested), or connected directly to internet -Better quality video than HD cable CON's -it takes a couple seconds to switch channels, so if you are a rapid channel surfer it might be an issue. Note though that there is a built in tv guide. Conclusion: If you are "cutting the cable", this is a must own device in my opinion.

    Too slow and limted

The interface is very limited and way too slow. Using it from Roku is very limited, and you can only access the web page from a Google Chrome browser (which I don't use for anything else). I am trying to find a cable company alternative. This gets much of the programs I watch, but I find this so limited I don't know if I will keep it.

Tablo is BEST current cord-cutting solution

HD picture off antenna is great, whether looking at live signal or programs off attached hard drive. Since Tablo is a device on your home network, sharing with almost any media player in the household is great-- no more fees for every viewing device/TV. [In a household of 5 people, we're viewing Tablo content on laptop (via browser), on smartphones, tablet, and Roku3. Tablo can also share its content remotely (live or recorded) to your mobile devices.] Tablo development teams are VERY responsive to user community, updating features and making improvements as requested (and updates are simple since this is a networked device). In other words, this product is well-supported by a helpful & motivated team.

A little to slow for my tastes

I gave this a try it was a little clunky on Roku even with their much hyped new Roku App. Lots of buffering and pauses during live TV. Seemed to work better on iPad. Product is a nice idea, but just not there yet in my opinion. May work for some people.

We got this to make our Weingard antenna apply to all of our TV's house wide (single story, approx 1700 sq ft). The set up was incredibly simple and it works great! Also makes it possible to view broadcast via our tablets. We used the Roku for one of the sets and will be trying the Chromecast next (having some issues with the Roku 2; lips out of sync, dropping signal in middle of broadcast requiring power down and back up to re establish signal) but the Tablo has been great! I think the picture is better than what we had with cable.

... Or buy a tablo and a wifi repeater...

I had an issue. I had a TV in the master bedroom with horrible TV reception. I tested with multiple antennas for the TV. The ones that are amplified, the ones that are giant fly swatters, bunny ears; I even put one outside the window and it didn't really work. I also noticed that the attic has a radiant barrier which explains the loss of wifi and cell signal. So I was given the assignment of FIXING this issue. What I had to do is run a line from the inside, to the outside of the, then run it up, wrap around the house to get access to the attic above the bedroom, go in there and find a way to run it up through the crevices of the second floor (the master does not have a second level on-top of it), then run it to the main attic, run the line to the other side of the house, and connect it to a splitter to the outdoor antenna I have on the roof (that antenna works really well for the game/ theater room). Also I live in Houston, so its 80 to 90 percent humidity and probably 140 degrees in the attic during this time of year. ... Or buy a tablo and a wifi repeater... The instructions in the Tablo box are pretty straight forward. It’s about the size of two Apple TV’s put side-by-side. It requires Ethernet, antenna, and power. Plug it in and download the Tablo app to my phone and set up the unit there. The set up was not flawless but after I reset the unit everything started to work correctly. The interface is looks just like a TV guide from u-verse (simple and easy to use). I have a Roku stick on the bedroom TV. So I just downloaded the App after the set up and I was golden. The Wifi signal was low in the room so the Tablo would work for about a minute and then the channel would freeze and re-stream every other minuet. I purchased a Range extender and that issue is gone. It also works on my Apple TV and iPads. The load time for when you click the live TV channel to it actually appearing ranges from 5 to 15 seconds. I've tested it out and with 5Ghz AC Wifi I can run 4 devices with the SAME channel at once with-out issues (A Roku stick, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, and a Apple TV). You can also watch 2 different channels at the same time. I've been able to stream two devices on one channel and two devices on another without issue. Recording is super easy. Google "Tablo Hard Drive" and they pretty much give you a list of what works with it. I can record any of the baseball games I miss when I have to work in the weekends. Or finally my crazy idea where I put a freaking 19 inch TV in the restroom so I will NEVER miss a goal again during football and soccer season.

Tried to use it with Chromecast and with a LG TV with WebOS 3.0. Both aspects have issues. Chromecast doesn't remember where you stopped watching and you must always restart watching from beginning, even when box spontaneously reboots or stops casting (which happens often). Using the WebOs 3.0 Tablo App on the TV, it just gets stuck at the Syncing screen and never gets past that. They have a lot of bugs, too many in my opionion. Just go to their website and on the forum and start reading, you will see all the troubles they are having.

Took way too many attempts just to even get recognized by wired connection. After it updated itself still poor performance. Recordings, guide, acesseing everything painfully slow. Recordings buffer and then received "player error". Great concept if u can execute it. Customer service not available on weekends at all.

Great while works - mine is dead after 3months

Watch out for updates - forced to update even after I clicked do later. Then the update killed my unit and now nothing. Then I spent 4 hours of my Sunday going thru their list of stuff to do and still does not work. Left three emails asking for help and still no answer from company only auto-reply to fix yourself. TABLO is only open Monday - Friday 8-5:30 and they did the upgrade on the weekend with no one available to answer questions. Like I said great while lasted for only 3 months and I am very upset with the money I have wasted on something that is worthless. BE CAREFUL is all I can say.
