    Too much buffering

This works well if you do not plan on recording any TV programs. Meaning if you don't have a hard drive you can view any of the channels. But, once you have a hard drive connected lots of buffering occurs watching live channels or recorded shows. Would not recommend.

    Perfect Cord Cutter Item

Problem: How to get OTA antenna into five rooms without wires, and be able to record shows on a schedule, and have a great program guide, AND automatically skip commercials AND save $200 a month on cable. After trying several other products that don't quite do all of that, I finally found this TABLO. It works great. Easy to setup. I have so many things recorded and so little time to watch! All the major networks, all the secondary channels, even my favorite COMET - at no charge. Saves me over $200 a month over cable! Support is great. I've seen some bad reviews - you do need a good wi-fi network and a good internet connection and a newer streaming device or smart TV. No spinning circles here. The only negative might be paying a couple dollars a month for the incredible program guide. But, that is not required.

I cut the cord nearly 5 years ago. The original problem to solve was that I wanted to add a HDTV to a room where extending the OTA antenna cable was not viable. An internet search suggested using my home's WIFI with a Tablo and Roku. Upon further online research, I bought from Best Buy, as suggested, the 4-channel model, and used my existing ROKU box. It works like a charm, and when you add an external drive, it is an awesome DVR, plus when you subscribe to the program guide, you can watch live TV or DVR recordings from most smart phones and tablets. I have bought ROKUs for all my HDTV's, and now my home is it's own cable system using WIFI, without the monthly expense of subscribing to the cable or satellite company. There is also an added benefit that my HDTVs are no longer directly connected by a copper coaxial cable to an outdoor antenna when lightening storms occur. A couple of hints: The 4 channel Tablo is a very wise investment when recording overlapping programs, and if you are concerned about the Tablo unit being too warm, and laptop cooling mat is the solution. The Tablo greatly enhances your OTA viewing experience.

    Just what Momma ordered

My wife was OK with my manic efforts to get onto an antenna, but she still wanted to automatically record her shows and FF thru the commercials on playback. Voila ! I was worried about Tablo splitting weak signals ( we are 42 miles out), but not an issue. Antop antenna (4800BV) with 25' feed and then pre-amp into Tablo; CAT6 wired from Tablo into router. Note: both pre-amp and router inputs with grounding blocks to eliminate "noise" as fully as possible. No problems setting up and only SLIGHT picture quality degradation (so I think; wife thinks I'm crazy). Perfect final piece to the puzzle !

Tablo is next Gen HD DVR

The Tablo DVR is truly the next generation of OTA HD DVR products. I have owned it for about 6 months now and it works as advertised and they have awesome customer support. With the recent launch of there Roku and Amazon Fire TV apps it works like a traditional networked DVR. You can use the Tablo on an iPhone, and Android device to watch HDTV. Take a look at there website for more information. www.tablotv.com You will not be disappointed. Plus there is more new features coming down the pike!

    Not ready for market

I am looking forward to finally "cutting the cord" and eliminate monthly fees from cable/satellite providers. The vast majority of the programming my family watches is either provided over the air via antenna or through Netflix streaming. I was excited to see that this product required minimal wiring and could be streamed to any tv in my house via my home's wireless network and a Roku device at each tv. I give the developers of the Tablo credit for making the device very easy to set up, which I was able to do in a matter of minutes. Where the device grossly falls short is its ability to identify all stations that my antenna is able to pick up. For example, I am able to find 35 stations in my area with my tv's internal tuner, but the Tablo was only able to pick up 4 stations, which is very disappointing. I tried connecting with and without an amplifier...didn't make a difference. The picture quality was ok on the 4 stations, but the playback was skippy and jerky, which was unbearable. I wound up returning the device due to its faults. Tablo has the right idea, but the bugs should have been worked out before this product hit the market.

    Wife Acceptance Factor Fail

I purchased the 4 tuner and loved it. The iPad App was fantastic, but the Roku app was lacking a real guide. My 3 year old and I have no problem watching TV on our iPads, but my wife wanted something that was on the TV and had a guide to search for what was up and coming. The Roku interface was sort of clunky since you had to back out of live TV to get to any of the menus. Sadly I returned it and bought a Tivo. If the roku app becomes more mature, I will definately buy Tablo again.

    Heolps with cutting the cord

We have just dumped DirecTV and purchased a Tablo and signed up for PlayStation Vue. Both services have been fantastic and the price of Vue is a quarter of what we were paying Directv. The Tablo has been superb. It took a little bit to get good reception. The indoor antennas would not bring in all the channels so we had to go with a roof mounted setup. Being able to watch tv anywhere in the house on our Roku's through the Tablo is the one it should be. I am glad we started this year off by making this change.

I cut the cord 3 months ago and this Tablo was part of that decision. I have spent time and money i.e. routers to make this unit work. Well, unlike the Roku, Fire Stick, Amazon, Sling and a bunch of other hardware and apps this one sucks. In a perfect world maybe. Don't waste your money on the guide because the constant spinning circles and buffering will drive you crazy. The idea is great but the performance is horrible. I just tried to walch a taped program on Tablo, after the long wait to boot up I had to stop the program because of the constant buffering. So I went to sling worked perfect, I went to Amazon same thing, I did a speed test on the router 35/ 18 d/u mb. It's not the connection it's the hardware, they just don't have it. I will either get the Fire recast or something else but this thing will not make you happy cutting the cord..

Doesn't work for some common setups

Tried to use it with Chromecast and with a LG TV with WebOS 3.0. Both aspects have issues. Chromecast doesn't remember where you stopped watching and you must always restart watching from beginning, even when box spontaneously reboots or stops casting (which happens often). Using the WebOs 3.0 Tablo App on the TV, it just gets stuck at the Syncing screen and never gets past that. They have a lot of bugs, too many in my opionion. Just go to their website and on the forum and start reading, you will see all the troubles they are having.

Clumsy to use, with limited suport hours.

Seemed like a great idea, but poorly executed. Tablo claims there is an app for my Samsung TV, but the TV could not find one. Using it through Roku may have been part of the problem, but the search function was useless, and playback was slow to respond. For example, search showed there was a baseball game on, but could not show what channel, what teams, or what time. What good is that? And doing any kind of skip during playback resulted in seeing the wait icon spin for a couple of seconds. Very frustrating. Tablo says to contact support before returning the device. But there is no support when you would want it most, like evening and weekends. And for those of us on the west coast it's even worse. 5AM to 2:30PM Monday-Friday just does not do it. And they encourage you to send an email, but they don't respond promptly. I sent an email Friday at noon, no answer on Friday. By Sunday I had given up and returned the thing.

    Disappointed With Tablo

At first, Tablo worked pretty well. I streamed over 20 of the 54 OTA channels found by Tablo to any TV in my house. Unfortunately, in less than 2 weeks, the unit stopped working. I tried everything suggested by Tablo without success. I found out that a number of people were having the same issues. I returned the product.

    Buyer beware

Before buying a Tablo, I recommend first buying an antenna and test it to make sure you clearly receive the channels you want to record. I made the mistake of buying an antenna with this Tablo and a hard drive, only to find out that I only received 2 lousy channels that I wasn't interested in watching, and ended up returning all three pieces of equipment.
