Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the ease of use, WiFi connectivity, recording flexibility, and picture quality of the DUAL LITE OTA DVR with WiFi. Many appreciate the simple setup and the commercial skip feature, but some users experienced issues with buffering, occasional heat generation, and reception problems. The need for an external hard drive for storage is also a recurring theme. While the interface and program guide are generally well-received, performance inconsistencies were reported by a few users.

Never really got it to work consistently with WiFi. Unit would also get very hot and now no longer works, I presume due to heat. Maybe works for some, but be prepared to be patient, technical and have an ability to dissipate heat.

Very good tunning quality. Best EPG of anything else I've used. Love that you can change the zip code location for better channel information! My favorite OTA tuner.

I bought this to replace my homerun duo. The homerun duo is an excellent unit but won't work with roku and you need a network drive to store recorded tv unless you have a nvidia shield tv. I also like the tv guide better on the tablo and that I can attach my spare usb hdd

The commercial skip does not work on Samsung smart tvs. It only works with Amazon Fire or Roku (certain models). The tuner is good, however it runs very hot (110F case temperature). Streaming over network is choppy and pixelated. It does not matter if wired or wi-fi (network speed is only 100Mb/s). If you want decent performance, look for the quad tuner model with 1Gb/s network interface (not sold by Best Buy, you have to buy it from Tablo), this one works as intended.

It’s good for what it is. Basic dive for ota. My problem is that where I’m located I could not get a steady signal from my antenna. Ended up returning and going with DirectTV now as there streaming service actually includes all my locals live and offer a dvr function. The tablo is great for cord cutters though.

My set-up includes an Antop AT-400BV antenna, a 400MBPS Spectrum subscription and the Tablo. The Antop AT-400BV gets great reception when connected directly to the TV. I connected the Tablo with ethernet cable to wifi router and to the antenna. The Tablo buffers continuously. I changed the Tablo setting from 1080 to 720 resolution and the situation has not improved. I reviewed all of the recommendations from Tablo and its community to see if there was anything else that I could modify. I have done everything that I can do and it still buffers! I would not recommend this product. Very frustrating.

Tablo Dual Lite OTA- works great! Interface is fast and paired with a WD-Elements hard drive the playback is flawless. Hooked up via wifi and have had no buffering, connection to second TV is also flawless. Utilizing a FireStick on the 1st TV and Roku on 2nd TV.

Does not work. I tried everything. All it does is buffer. It will play for a few seconds then buffer. It also freezes often. It's also expensive.

If I could give this item 10 stars I would. Hooked it up to my digital antenna let it run over night and then hooked it up to a spare terabyte hard drive and I couldn’t believe what a great little system it is.

I've owned this for 19 months now. To get any channels, I need to put my antenna somewhere that is not near my router, so I use the wifi feature instead of going wired. The wifi feature works great, it was very easy to set up using my Android phone. I use Rokus on most of my TVs, though I have one that is an Android TV. The Tablo app works fine on all my devices, I can stream live OTA TV and watch my recordings on any of them. I don't have any issues with buffering at home, and I have my video setting at the highest level (1080). The picture is nice and sharp. The commerical skip feature works like a champ. The remote access is nice, I can watch my local channels on my laptop or phone when I'm on the road. However, I have to crank down the video quality a bit to avoid buffering, so it's not really HD. I don't go on the road often, so this isn't a big deal to me. When I first bought it, I thought I'd be cheap, and just do "manual" recording, but the experience is so much better with the guide data. I figured I'd be using this Tablo for a long time, so I bought the lifetime subscription which was $150. Something to consider when figuring the cost of this thing. My only real complaint up to now is that when my house experiences a power glitch (which is typical when a storm passes through), the Tablo gets into a funky mode, and I have to power cycle it to get it back to normal. Which I can't do if I'm not home, so it is not as reliable as I'd like it to be. If you have stable power, then this probably won't be an issue for you. But... about a month ago, the wifi module in the Tablo died, rendering it useless to me. But the Tablo support is great, they are still replacing the unit even though it is now out of warranty. Which I appreciate, since I already bought the lifetime guide data. It is really easy to set up and the wifi feature is great. I'd recommend it.

Good two tuner OTA dvr for ota tv antenna use. I use a roku and this connects my ota antenna to any streaming device in the house that is connected to my wifi network. Works well.
