This contraption is a poor man's Tivo. Complicated setup. Unit worked for awhile and then refused to stay connected to wireless network. The set up software is absolutely clumsy and stupid. After several attempts to reach customer service they remotely diagnosed the unit and determined that the wireless chip was defective. Company sent a replacement unit. After another difficult setup the device connected and started working. Then it wanted to update itself. After it did so it then refused to work again. Not wanting to deal with customer service again and unwilling to waste another 3 hours trying to get a third unit to work I returned the original to Best Buy and sent the replacement back to Tablo. This company has poor customer service and even worse quality control. I bought a Tivo instead and had it up and running with no hastles right out of the box.

The Tablo is a great product for streamers. Very happy with it

Great idea...never got it installed. Too complicated..I'm happy with Hulu

Works pretty decent but the UI feels outdated. I prefer Plex UI.

The only reason it didn't work is because my TV (only 2 years old) was to old (Samsung) already out of date. Now there are ways around it I guess, but I wanted something simple, plug in and use and that it definitely was not. Returned.

I had to return it. It was not what I was looking for.

Dropped DirecTV and bought this and an outdoor antenna so we could record movies. Instructions for initial set up were poor..ended up calling company for assistance. Once trial membership expires, you can no longer program Tablo for recording using your TV remotes; have to use your computer, smart phone or tablet. Was calling company way too often with technical issues, so decided to return to Best Buy. My old VCR was much easier to use/program than Tablo. Don't recommend.

Upgraded my internet to 60 mbps and still it did not help. Too sporadic and would to keep resetting in or for it to work. Returned. Sling’s Tvair black box DVRs is much more stable and integrates well with Sling’s app.

Save your money, really needs a roof aerial to work from. Found many of the stations advertised on the box were not found No CBS, No CW, NBC in and out,,this may be due inadequate aerial. Recording function so so.

The app is horrible. If you like taking 20 seconds to switch a channel or minutes to even open the app this product is for you. Setup is decent, complicated and not for novice but it works.

Lasted a little over a year then the coax connector broke. Glad I didn’t get the lifetime guide plan and glad I had the Geek Squad warranty. Best Buy just refunded the money paid and I got something else.

Worse than awful. Works maybe 20% of the time we turn it on. It also stops in mid show and you get an hour glass to watch while the show appears to be resetting.

I have not been able to use this product for more than once. I set it up the first time which took about an hour because the device's wifi signal keeps disappearing even though I'm standing right next to it. Then it upgraded firmware and since then it has not worked at all. I've tried restoring it and going through all of the troubleshooting but it has not been resolved. I regret this purchase 100%

ive had nothing but trouble with buffering with the tablo DVR my air TV that sling sent me works better but still has problems but i would like the air TV instead

First unit failed at 9 months. They sent me a new one but I lost all my recordings. Second unit started failing 9 months later. Support told me to buy new cord to connect hard drive. Still crashed. Then they worked on it remotely. Still crashed. Sent 3D unit. Lost a terabyte worth of recordings. You pay a lifetime subscription fee of $150 for a product that can’t make it a year. Even when it works, you can’t use it at full frame rate via WiFi or it will buffer. And you’ll spend hours on hold trying to talk to support. Try Home Run or TiVo.

I was really hoping this would be my answer to recording ota programs, but it was just too difficult & annoying to use. Fortunately, Best Buy is great about returns.
