Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the ease of use, WiFi connectivity, recording flexibility, and picture quality of the DUAL LITE OTA DVR with WiFi. Many appreciate the simple setup and the commercial skip feature, but some users experienced issues with buffering, occasional heat generation, and reception problems. The need for an external hard drive for storage is also a recurring theme. While the interface and program guide are generally well-received, performance inconsistencies were reported by a few users.

This is a great little device that makes it easy sharing antenna to all the devices in our house. While most of the interface is great, it does vary a bit from device to device which dropped it one star for me.

This product works great. Great dvr and interface. Connectivity through wifi is a plus yet a minus since there seem to be some connectivity issues sometimes. Use ethernet for optimal connectivity

Easy setup and now I can stream local channels over wifi. It’s been two weeks and so far no issues. Get yourself a good antenna

Eliminated cable TV subscription since we watch OTA. Pays for itself in 1.5 months. Had a heck of a time setting it up because of the internet setup at home (and the instructions only cover a vanilla install), but I finally got it to work fine; ended up placing the Dual Lite OTA DVR in a bedroom about 100 ft. from the router (to get the best OTA reception) and use wifi to access it from our TV using a FireStick 4K. I added a cheap 500 GB external USB drive to the DVR and it functions like a champ.

So, we decided to cut the cable cord but still wanted to record series from local channels without replacing our cable bill with a streaming bill that carried local channels. We already have multiple streaming accounts for movies. Aside of a hiccup in the connectivity step all went smooth. Simple and explanatory directives. Best Buys sale price made this A STEAL!

I cut the cord, but still wanted to get local channels on all of our devices. I tried a couple of the competitors but Tablo was the best I found. Greatproduct. I don’t think I am a fan of the subscription to get the guide.

This is a nice OTA DVR but the tuners need a strong signal. I'm in a fringe area so recording can be hit or miss. Subscription to the guide provides some nice features. The UI is pretty simple to navigate. Works as described.

It does the job. Takes a while to switch between live TV channels. I use it primarily as an DVR by connecting a USB hard drive. Owned for one year, no issue so far.

This DVR (Tablo Dual Lite) works very well. I only used it with their channel guide so I do not know how well manual recordings would work. The interface is best with the ROKU giving you many options for filtering future TV programs. The ROKU also allows you to see what you have scheduled to record based on the date instead of just the program names in alpha order like the Android and Apple interfaces. I recommend this to anyone who no longer subscribes to cable TV and wants to record their local channels.

Functions are good along with easy to use. Seems to drop from my WiFi often. I don’t have this issue with other devices in my WiFi and I have devices further from my router, so it appears it is something with Tablo. I do like it though.

This is a true OTA DVR that uses your local antenna to work. It's not dependent on Android TV to work, like the new ChannelMaster DVR is. I added a 1 TB WD passport hard drive and it gives me plenty of room to record all my programs. And with having a Roku connected to all 3 tv's we own. I can use the Tablo app on any Roku and can access the recordings on all 3 TV's. Only item that needs improvement, is that it should have 5.1 surround sound, for better sound quality.

Had a glitch getting started, took 15 minutes on hold to get help; however once connected, a very knowledgeable person walked me through the setup. Had no idea how sophisticated the programming for recording particular shows is. I am able to select particular shows and it automatically schedules the recordings (even bypassing a show if it is pre-empted by political posturing). Gives you mini-preview pictures when fast forwarding or rewinding. Very happy.

I have always use the HD homerun in the past. When i receive my new Tablo I was very skeptical about this device. But after doing the setup, which took less than 2 minutes. I can safely say this is the best experience hands down. All I did was connect my antenna to the Tablo device, connected a 1tb external drive to the usb on the back. Went through the setup wizard and once connected to my wi-fi, set up my zip code. And that’s it am done. Also does h.264 transcoding which will save on file space and assure a smooth wi-fi streaming experience. I love this device.

This device is wonderful for those cutting the cord and going to OTA platform. I use an external hard drive to record OTA programs and the Tablo is hooked up to a a Roku device. Works great. It is supposed to record and eliminate commercials but I think it is still in a beta version as it is inconsistent. But......one has the option to fast forward through commercials! I would suggest the higher end Roku as it is more powerful than the entry level ones.

I have been searching for something like this for a long time. The Tablo gives me all the features I need for a DVR at a more affordable price. There are two are features I especially like. First, because it works over wifi, I can place it and the antenna wherever I get the best OTA reception and it will work with all of my TVs. Second, I like that it works as a channel in Roku as this allows it to integrate more effectively with my streaming services.

This is a great little box. Allows recording two channels at once. Can watch and pause live tv. I can program and view from any smart device in my house that are on the same network. This could save you from wiring up several TV's. Just need to be able to download the app. I have a Vizio TV for which they don't have the app, but Amazon Firestick or Roku can solve that. Has a nice tv guide feature which makes it a breeze to schedule recordings. The premium guide is $5 a month after the trial. It is worth it for the extra functionality.

I will probably upgrade to the larger quad version just to be able to record more programs at the same time. Have only had a couple of times when a program was not recorded due to bad or weak signal.

Works pretty good. Sometimes can be a little fussy but it does do what it says. You can record over the air broadcast television. You do need to have a separate storage device.
