Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the ease of use, WiFi connectivity, recording flexibility, and picture quality of the DUAL LITE OTA DVR with WiFi. Many appreciate the simple setup and the commercial skip feature, but some users experienced issues with buffering, occasional heat generation, and reception problems. The need for an external hard drive for storage is also a recurring theme. While the interface and program guide are generally well-received, performance inconsistencies were reported by a few users.

Works as intended. The app is a pleasure to use and overall setup was as easy as it gets. Great option for streaming OTA channels over a local network.

Works really well... I don't like the fact premium guide requires a subscription however you really don't need a Premium guide. The regular guide is just fine. Easy to set up!

Great way to help you cut the cord

Cut the cord (i.e. canceled cable) about 6 months ago. I had already installed a digital antenna and it was working great. My biggest challenge was finding a way to replace the DVR. I tried Hulu Live but, at $40 per month, it wasn't worth it. Then they raised the price to $45....that's why I canceled cable.. price creep. Bought the Tablo and haven't looked back. It does have a few quirks, however. For instance, it requires an internet connection and local area network to work (even though this seems counter intuitive). And, make sure you use a fast enough storage device.....I tried using some flash drives I had laying around and it kept hanging up. All in all, I'm extremely happy with the purchase.

This takes the place of both of my recently failed 11 year old dvd recorders. It took a little trouble to set up but works well. I bought a 2tb Portable drive for storage.

This is a great DVR for over the air viewing and recording. Tablo has the best app in the business. It works with all the major streaming devices - Roku, Fire TV Stick and Apple TV. Great choice if you're a cord cutter or just have an antenna as back-up to your cable or satellite tv service.

Didn't know a OTA DVR was a thing until I needed it. Easy to get up and running. I currently have a 5tb drive connected. Good product!

    TiVO HD replacement

Unit performs flawlessly thus far. Replaced a TiVO HD that died. Purchased the lifetime service plan that can be moved to a future device, unlike TiVO products. No missed recordings and I like the commercial skip on those programs that utilize it. Otherwise, thumbnails while FF allow me to see where I am. That alone would’ve been fine. Now, add a ATSC 3.0 tuner and I’m good!

Gives OTA TV a Cable look and feel

Just make sure you have a speedy internet connection and a fast solid state USB hard drive - absolutely no USB flash drives! Flash drives are cheeper but you will regret it if you use one with Tablo. Other than that, it is a definitely lovely feeling when you have a full HD picture on your TV knowing you are getting it for free over the air (and not paying a cable company for it).

I purchased this when I lived in Florida as the cable prices are expensive so I stuck with Antena and this option did what it was supposed to do and more. The only drawback is you need to purchase an USB memory stick or a USB External Hard Drive. FYI: 16GB will only get you 5 programs. it is recommend that you get a 1TB or more.

I am very pleased with my Tablo. I purchased it nine months ago and it is doing great. I decided to purchase the lifetime guide subscription to make it easier for my mom to record TV shows in her mother-in-law suite. They recently updated the software and added commercial skip. It works most of the time, but sometimes it gets the commercial breaks wrong.

This can be used as your tuner, but it is mainly a DVR. It doesn't have its own storage, but you can use an external hard drive or just plug a flash drive right into the unit, which is what I'm doing. The only downside for me is the live TV tuner is clunky to operate, so I did a splitter with a preamp. One cable goes into the TV antenna tuner and the other goes into the Tablo unit and uses a gadget like Chromecast (my choice), Roku, Fire TV, or many others to watch shows. It requires some work, an Internet connection, and equipment, but it doesn't take long to recoup the cost after cutting the cord.

Not the easiest thing to set up, in fact I had to have customer support remote trouble shoot. The service was excellent. I love the automatic commercial skip feature.

I haven't tried all that it does but am happy with what I see so far. Only drawback, got an $18. phone bill when I called for help. It's a Canadian company. My InstantPot has an 800 #. I was shocked to get the phone bill.

Unit works as advertized and has a great auto-skip feature for commercials. You must have high signal strength out of your antenna for it to work.
