Good But Not Like The Other Tales Of Games
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far this game is noting like the other Tales Of Series, It is more Linear like walking down a railroad track but I have not gotten very far. So far in 4 hours of play I might not have gotten to open world game play and I don't know if there is Open World. I will update as I play. Battle system is not Turn Based and that is fine but once you wipe out the enemies you have to enter another area and return back to where they were and they will be there. Stay by a town and fight, Enter town and exit again. Not a bad game but so far I don't call it a game of the "Tales Of" series

One of my favorite games to play
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this back in 2022, and didn't expect much. Saw some footage on youtube, and needed something new to play. I liked Final Fantasy, so decided to give it a shot. Excellent story. Love the graphics, and use of colors. Liked the game mechanics. This is one of those games that I plan on keeping, and not reselling. I've already got platinum on the game, so will probably play it again, next year. Got other games to replay. But it's a keeper.

Tales of Arise Gameplay
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I started to play through this game recently and I’m already far in the story. Love the graphics and play style in this series! I only played Tales of Abyss and watched few other Tales game videos so I figured of getting this when it was on sale. Really amazed at the changes they did with exploration and battle system. What I love is the fact you can switch characters in open world and fight scenes in this. It took me awhile to get used to it since some fights need a bit of strategy depending on the boss/enemies you’re dealing with. I absolutely enjoyed the interaction between Alphen and his companions as well, getting to bond with them through camping and cooking too. I’d say this awesome game was worth purchasing.

Tales of Arise is an excellent new JRPG
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don’t have a huge history with the Tales of series. I played some of Symphonia back in the day on the GameCube. And then didn’t touch another entry until Vesperia DE on the Switch — I slowly worked my way through it and, despite ultimately loving it for many reasons, didn’t quite love some of the aging features (clunky-slow movement, load times, etc). Tales of Arise captured my interest immediately because of the huge graphical upgrades — comparing it to the most recent entry before it (Bersaria) is like night and day. Arise looks gorgeous, even on my base PS4. The quality of life features are amazing too. Everything is quick and easy to navigate. Character movement is quicker. Fast travel, too. So far I’m about 8 or so hours in and I’m loving it. Alphen and Shionne, the main protagonists, are great so far. And the additional characters and party members are as well. I’m enjoying the English VO — they match the characters well. Everything from the story, skits, environments, soundtrack, graphics, art style, etc is right up my alley. It’s all great. The combat is probably my least favorite part of the game so far — but keep in mind, I didn’t love Vesperias or Symphonia’s combat either. It’s very combo based — and I’m terrible at keeping combos going, which leads to longer fights, more MP usage and having to go through my healing items more frequently. And finding money to purchase restorative items and armor in this game is very hard so far. With all that said, the combat is gorgeous to behold and it does feel nice and snappy now — especially versus how slow it felt in Vesperia. I like the new dodge mechanic, though I miss being able to manually block. All in all, if you like the Tales of games, or JRPGs in general, I think you’ll dig this game.

Another fantastic Tales Game for fans.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great addition to the Tales series. The game felt like it get a little under the radar with it's lack of promotional advertisement but still the gameplay and story make it a worthy purchase for any fan of the series. Also a nice bonus is if you couldn't get the PS5 version the PS4 version is given an upgrade to the mentioned PS5 version if you wish to do so. So definitely get the game before it's too late.

Tales of awesome
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this game! The story and characters are compelling and intriguing to say the least! And the combat is an exquisite dance in an action based battle system that takes JRPGs into the next generation!

Pretty Good for a Tales installment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't played Tales games in a while, but this one looked intriguing. The graphics remind me of Dragon Quest XI, and the game overall feels like a mix between that and Final Fantasy XV. I like that you can make the game harder right away with the difficulty setting, and it's been pretty fun so far.

New favorite Tales game
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I pre-ordered this game 2 years before it was released, because I was so sure I’d like it, and I’ve got no regrets! This is my third Tales game after Zestria and Beseria. About 3 chapters in it truly clicked for me, and if you like any previous tales game this probably will for you too, just give it a chance to get started. You’ve gotta like cutscenes (skits) and you’ve gotta like JRPG anime nonsense to enjoy it because there’s a lot of that. They got some of my favorite voice actors for the main characters too, great performances and you’ll recognize them all if you’re a Final Fantasy/Persona/anime fan. I’m just glad games like this are still being made

Great tales game but missing something.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not the same as older Tales games. I love it but something is missing from it. The feel is not the same and I'm not feeling the usual desire to play and finish the game. I have passed the middle point and my desire to continue is gone. I may continue it, in the future but I have no rush to. While the game looks amazing and gameplay is excellent. I do love the new battle system. Definitely happy with the purchase, but it doesn't quite have the same feeling as other Tales games.

One of the best games I’ve ever played!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Titles says it all. I’d always heard great things about the Tales series, but I had never taken the time to play one personally. As soon as I played the demo for this one, I was sold…and that was only scratching the surface of how wonderful an experience this game would end up being. The characters have immense depth, the voice acting is phenomenal, and the story takes so many twists that you never know exactly where it’s going to end up. I myself own the Xbox version, this was actually a gift for a friend because I loved it so much that I wanted more people to experience it. Cannot recommend it enough! (Still loathe the fishing though lol)

Arise to a New Generation of Tales Games…
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bandai Namco's Tales Studio finds renewed spirit in their latest entry of the Tales series of jRPGs. A new engine built from the ground-up on Unreal brings more action and excitement than ever before. Tested mechanics like the skit system are revised to provide a more four-panel manga feel, while new mini games like fishing are introduced. Missing from this entry is the four-player multiplayer that the series is known for, but the action is still fast and furious and feels purposeful.
