Great and funny movie with a few heartfelt moments. McCarthy is always fun to watch with supported by Susan Sarandon as a surprising and hilarious addition to the cast.

I think McCarthy is a brilliant comedy talent, hilarious in The Heat and Identity Thief, but in Tammy, written and produced by her, and I think directed by her husband, comes off a little more buttoned down and tame. It seems as if Team Melissa are subtly trying to tweak her image to be slightly more mature and mainstream. As a result, the flow seems affected, something seems missing. The romantic interest scenes with Mark Duplass, who has a lot of potential, come off slightly wooden and lacking sincerity. McCarthy is at her best improvising a little and playing the ton-of-fun bad girl as far as a given scene requires, and this film pulls back from that formula. However, Sarandon has a great understated role, as well as Kathy Bates, and the small town whiskey-tango element of Tammy is well presented, and I still say it's worth seeing.

Despite generally unfavorable reviews, my family and I enjoyed watching Tammy together. Melissa McCarthy was particularly crass at times, but we expected this since it's pretty much her shtick. Susan Sarandon gave a wonderful performance as her alcoholic grandmother, which made this less of a straight comedy and delivered some truly poignant moments between the two characters. If you're looking for a laugh-a-minute then this is not the movie for you. But if you like a little drama with your comedy and a leading lady that's anything but the conventional idealized Hollywood version of woman, then give Tammy a chance! The DVD provided a fine picture and strong audio mix.

My expectations were somewhat low, before watching this movie, but I have to say, it was very entertaining and funny. I had heard mixed reviews of this movie and a lot of criticism of it not being very funny, however, I found plenty to laugh at and was entertained the whole way through. It wasn't Melissa McCarthy's best work, but it was a long way from her worst, and the supporting cast was humorous as well. Overall, this was a entertaining movie and worth the watch, it is also worth buying because the Ultraviolet copy is included in the purchase price.

The movie has it moments, but lacks in some spots. I believe the movie could of done better, but the movie is just missing some times through out. I expected it to be alot better then what it was, the previews make it look as if it's a real laugh, but surprise it is not. They should of done better at putting together. There are spots that just drag on and make it just a little bit disappointing. Sorry, I thought movie would of been better then what it was.....

We enjoy Melissa McCarthy, so we looked forward to seeing this movie. Of course, we weren't disappointed. It was easy viewing, all though there were predictable moments. It wasn't meant as a as a movie for deep thinkers; just to be enjoyed. Susan Sarandan made it all the more enjoyable.

A very funny movie in classic Melissa McCarthy style. Cowritten by her and real life husband and director Ben Falcone, this film has something for everyone. A solid comedy sprinkled with touching moments throughout and packed with big-name stars it is a great movie for the entire family.

I had a little different expectations from this movie. I never saw it in the theatres but, as I love Melissa and think she's hilarious, I bought the DVD. It was an ok movie and I saw flashes of Melissa'a comic timing. I might watch it again to see if I like it better the second time.

Melissa McCarthy is now becoming my favorite comedy actress. What can I say, she is just Funny, Funny, Funny... Very, Very, Very. I am very proud that she represented our Aloha State by wearing that MAHALO (thank you) shirt for the most part of the movie.

Melissa McCarthy proves once again that she has the chops to carry a comedic film. super funny and only occasionally traipses into the melancholic drama. Like most comedy films it lags in the 3rd act which is why I'm leaving off a star.

"Tammy" may be a bit of an oddball comedy, but works as proof that Melissa McCarthy can carry any story-line past its limitations. This unusual coming of age story/buddy film pairs McCarthy with Susan Sarandon in a cross-country trek to find themselves. Directed by McCarthy's real life husband Ben Falcone, "Tammy" suffers from a bit a jumbled storyline and messy pacing. However Melissa does still manage to shine through and Susan does an excellent job as her sidekick; and was a refreshing change in character for her. Fans of Melissa will most likely love this film even if the material itself is a bit lacking in substance.

This is a cute movie with some pretty funny moments. It's not as funny as I had expected considering Melissa McCarthy and Susan Sarandon can be comic gold together, but I'm still overall pleased with my purchase.

Now I Loved Melissa McCarthy in "The Heat" But to me Susan Sarandon Stole The Laughs Right Out Of Me and I have never thought of her as a Comedian untill Tammy. Up until now I thought no one other than Sandra Bullock could upstage Melissa Kudos to you Susan Sarandon I'm looking forward to your Future Comedies Fingers Crossed with Sandra Bullock.

Super funny and well written. Rated R comedies are fairly rare, and this one helps stand out from the other. Mellissa McCarthy delivers an awesome performance. Well worth your time!

Really excited t see Jenny McCarthy in this because I think she's really funny. Although I laughed here and there it wasn't the level of comedy I expected with her in it.

If you like Melissa McCarthy and her slapstick, silly brand of humor, this is a great movie. Of course it's not going to win any awards, buy it's funny and entertaining.

This keeps happening, I order a older movie from BBY, and the picture shows it with a digital copy, when it arrives, like Tammy, it is the old version, with no digital copy. This time, when I returned it, they were kind of rude about it, like it was my mistake., I showed them the picture on the website and the clerk just shrugged. I have no idea about quality, I did not open it, since I would be unable to return it. Bummer...

While not Melissa McCarthy's funniest movie, this movie is still plenty funny and has heart. It is worth watching for sure and can be picked up pretty cheap. Enjoy!
