Good Tammy
||Posted .I think McCarthy is a brilliant comedy talent, hilarious in The Heat and Identity Thief, but in Tammy, written and produced by her, and I think directed by her husband, comes off a little more buttoned down and tame. It seems as if Team Melissa are subtly trying to tweak her image to be slightly more mature and mainstream. As a result, the flow seems affected, something seems missing. The romantic interest scenes with Mark Duplass, who has a lot of potential, come off slightly wooden and lacking sincerity. McCarthy is at her best improvising a little and playing the ton-of-fun bad girl as far as a given scene requires, and this film pulls back from that formula. However, Sarandon has a great understated role, as well as Kathy Bates, and the small town whiskey-tango element of Tammy is well presented, and I still say it's worth seeing.

Funny and touching...
||Posted .Despite generally unfavorable reviews, my family and I enjoyed watching Tammy together. Melissa McCarthy was particularly crass at times, but we expected this since it's pretty much her shtick. Susan Sarandon gave a wonderful performance as her alcoholic grandmother, which made this less of a straight comedy and delivered some truly poignant moments between the two characters. If you're looking for a laugh-a-minute then this is not the movie for you. But if you like a little drama with your comedy and a leading lady that's anything but the conventional idealized Hollywood version of woman, then give Tammy a chance! The DVD provided a fine picture and strong audio mix.

Turned out to be pretty funny
||Posted .My expectations were somewhat low, before watching this movie, but I have to say, it was very entertaining and funny. I had heard mixed reviews of this movie and a lot of criticism of it not being very funny, however, I found plenty to laugh at and was entertained the whole way through. It wasn't Melissa McCarthy's best work, but it was a long way from her worst, and the supporting cast was humorous as well. Overall, this was a entertaining movie and worth the watch, it is also worth buying because the Ultraviolet copy is included in the purchase price.

tammy the movie is here now.
||Posted .The movie has it moments, but lacks in some spots. I believe the movie could of done better, but the movie is just missing some times through out. I expected it to be alot better then what it was, the previews make it look as if it's a real laugh, but surprise it is not. They should of done better at putting together. There are spots that just drag on and make it just a little bit disappointing. Sorry, I thought movie would of been better then what it was.....
