The fan does cool down the computer. It is a bit on the noisy at times. I like that it is light and fits in my lap top case with my lap top. On sale it was a good buy. I don't like that it runs on the computer.

Sleek, thin and light, this cooling pad is a must for anyone that uses their laptop for more that 15 mins at a time. Keeps the machine cool even under heavy load. Haven't seen one lock up due to over heating since purchasing. Must have item.

My laptop is too big for this chill mat so the size is a bit of a con factor, but I still use it with my laptop. I will say that it works just fine though and that my computer doesn't heat up which is great for when you don't have a table to set your computer on. Great product for a good price.

I purchased this chill pad for my sons laptop. Its compact size is great for him to take along in his laptop back pack. The fan is quiet and keeps his laptop running cool.

My Thinkpad had started to overheat, so I used the Targus mat to help it keep within thermal operating limits. I've not replaced the fan/heat sink, but I'm still using the mat to keep the laptop cool. I wish the airflow were a bit more, but it clearly helped.

Works great and is quiet you cant hear it at all really and you jus plug it into the laptop for it to work so easy to use

Bought so my wife wouldn't fry her new ultra book sitting it on her lap. Perfect size, very light weight, fans do a good job of keeping a core i7 cool.

I bought this cool pad because it was a great deal on Black Friday. I got one for myself and one for my daughter. The pad doesn't quite fit her computer, but it still works. It is perfect for mine. It runs very quietly, and does a good job of keeping the computer cool. It does seem to drain the battery faster than just the computer itself, but that is to be expected. It is extremely easy to use, just connect it via a USB Port. Overall I recommend this product!

Have you ever worked with your notebook on top of your lap...it gets hot. You want to be cool, not like Chili Palmer, but to be really cool, get this chill mat. Once again they went out of their way to put in not one but TWO fans!

I needed something for a netbook because a full size cooling pad was way too big. This is the perfect size and very quiet. plenty of usb slots . { would recommend this to friends

In years past, I had a laptop fail due to overheating. This chill mat is extremely quiet and feels like it's moving plenty of air. Very satisfied with this purchase.

I have found this dual fan to be the perfect way to keep my computer going despite its desire to overheat and shut down. When I am using the chill mat, the computer still gets hot, but I very rarely have the issue of my computer simply shutting off on me. And on the extra positive note, I can now feel more comfortable using my laptop on the couch, bed, or floor thanks to the fan keeping the lint and fibers away from the computer's fan. So not only has it given my computer longer life, it has given me great flexibility with where i can use it! Great recommendation Best Buy empoloyees, you rock!

I finally got my own laptop and knew that I needed a cooling fan. I purchased this because it had the duel fan feature. I have been thoroughly pleased with this product. When I use my laptop running on battery, my battery life is just fine when I use this fan. It is also ultra-portable, and all I have to do is grab it through the side openings and carry my laptop with it. In fact, since I have had this fan, it have not unplugged it from the laptop. This is worth the price and certainly worth having to save your laptop from overheating. I highly recommend this cooling fan. (Home User)

this fan does the job, but at my end already i hadn't taken care of my laptops air flow enough, so it does a decent cooling job, but take it as it is, it's not going to replace any laptops own system.

I purchased the Targus chill mat after my Belkin laptop cooler fell and broke. I was unhappy with the Belkin only because the USB fan made so much noise, and the fan vent holes would get blocked on the bottom if I had my legs up, in a reclining position, otherwise it worked fine until I dropped it and it broke (not a Belkin issue, my fault totally). I chose try the Targus Chill Mat because I liked the sleek new look (new to me, anyway), and I liked seeing how the vents are on the sides instead of the bottom. It works great! The venting IS an improvement over the Belkin, and the USB fan is MUCH quieter than the Belkin. The price is comparable with the Belgian, so I feel the Targus is a better value. Make sure you get the correct size for your laptop, and don't let the salesman try to talk you out of it...I bought it at the same time I purchased my 2nd Lenovo Yoga 2, knowing how my first one would heat up, and the Best Buy sales guy tried to tell me the Yogas don't get hot at all...he was misinformed. I highly recommend this product.

Says it was for up to a 15.6 laptop. It does work, but seems to be a bit small, and my HP ENVY doesn't fit as securely as I would like. But it seems to keep it cooler, which is it's main purpose.

Lightweight, easy to use, silent. It does keep the laptop cool. I've had it on for hours and still works great.

For the price, you get a really good product. It's quiet and it doesn't take a lot of space. It's really comfortable to work with.
