Works as Advertised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product works well for my needs. I recently decided to try my hand at setting up a dual monitor display. I researched a particular product but it was not available on Amazon. This was availably locally so I picked it up. There is really no set-up involved. I plugged in my monitors and laptop, there was a quick update, and then everything was smooth sailing. I only connect my laptop to the dock with one cord and my laptop does charge over this same cord. The only thing I noticed was at one point my Microsoft mouse was lagging when the dongle was connected to the docking station. The problem didn't happen long enough to anger me. I have nothing to compare it to but overall I think this is a great docking station. It would be even better if it was about $50 cheaper!

Good dock, gets the job done
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have two DisplayPort monitors running off my laptop, backup disk drive, wireless mouse & keyboard, seems to work fine. I do get a message on my laptop that the power supply is not powerful enough to charge my laptop, but once it boots, the laptop charges fine. Biggest downside is the price, you can find cheaper docks, but needed it right away and they had them in stock at Best Buy.

Docking Station for Home Office
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am using this docking station for a Lenovo X1 Carbon. It's adequate for what i need which is dual monitors. The only con that i have found so far is that my laptop has to be powered on prior to attaching it to the docking station. The docking station power button doesn't power up my laptop. At least i have not figured it out yet if it does.....

Easy connections

Great for notebook and 2 external monitors
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am using this with my Dell notebook, and hooking it up to 2 external monitors with a keyboard, mouse, and external hard drives. My only negative is the price - I can buy network switches dirt cheap, but this is a new connection, so the market is demanding a stupid price currently. Oh well, give it a couple years and this item will be under $100 easily.

Display support currently broken on Macs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, while this says it’s Thunderbolt 3, nothing about how it functions or what I could find online makes me think it is other than it’s using the same USB-C port. If you are a Mac user, the video ports will not work after macOS High Sierra 10.13.4. These do not access your internal graphics card capabilities (also making me believe this is truly not Thunderbolt) and at the time of this writing will not work any higher than 1080p at 30Hz through an AirPlay hack and only one display will work, not two. they also will not work at the login screen if you have FileVault enabled, nor will they allow for protected content to be played, such as movies purchased through iTunes. Check the DisplayLink website (not Targus which doesn’t have a support page for this model number) to see first if they’ve fixed the video problems prior to buying. The other pieces functioned as expected, and for that it gets two stars, but the video ports were the big sellers for me and it fell flat. If you’re a Windows user, I’m sure it will be better for you.

Exactly what you need, trust me.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't be confused by splitters and ridiculous Amazon Docking Stations. Although this isn't a cheap machine, it's what you need for a breezy docking setup. I use this to connect to my ASUS VG248 (x3) every day with ease. I plug in all my devices to the docking station with no issues or the dreaded un-recognized device warnings or constant disconnects that other dockers get. If you're confused how to easily set up your dual or triple monitor setup without losing that quick response and smooth viewing capability, this is your product.

Amazing Docking Station
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great docking station. I am able to hook up my hp, lenovo, and surface laptops to it and it charges all 3 even though the hp is super picky about chargers. It has multiple USB slots. Both the HDMI and the DVI ports provide amazing quality images on my monitors. I thought it seemed a bit expensive when I bought it but it was well worth the money. I would highly recommend.

Works great with my dual 2k monitors
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 2 Dell U2518D monitors. I have an Asus laptop. I extended the screen to 3 monitors and everything works perfect. There are different screen configurations to accommodate your preference. There are extra high speed USB slots for adding wireless keyboards, mouse and other accessories. There's also a connection for mic and speakers. You can quickly disconnect to take your laptop. You can also connect a different laptop.

Great, but hard to set up
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to go through some hoops to get it up and running since the software was not supported so if you'er looking for something a little more plug and play i wouldn't recommend it. once i got it set up it is exactly what i was looking for from a docking station considering how it perfectly docks everything from my computer and charges it while its connected.

Not impressed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to get this so I could run additional monitors and peripherals. I had to install the software twice to get it to run my other monitor, but still cannot get it to show up correctly through the operating system. I'm still working with Tech Support to fix. Targus' service center has some weird hours that are difficult to work with.

only keyboard and mouse worked. Monitors did NOT
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.only keyboard and mouse worked. Monitors did NOT work. Also, the sales associate incorrectly told me that is “plug and play” when in fact it is not because you need to download software for it to work. the Targus website made downloading the driver software very difficult so many different versions of the software... so annoying. my mac never was able to detect the monitors. i subsequently purchased a CalDigit docking station for less money that worked perfectly with no need to download software (a true plug and play). avoid this Targus product at all costs unless you are desperate.

Good but expensive
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a docking station that would handle 2 monitors using the HDMI cables. Of course you can use the cheaper model with one HDMI then another cable, but I needed the quality of HDMI. I use this for work purposes and it’s make working from home so much easier!
