...because nobody walks when it rains!! There was another review of this product which incorrectly stated that this set was the shortened syndicated version of the show, and so should be avoided. I've done a lot of research on TAXI and this set (which I own) and I can absolutely confirm that these discs are NOT the shortened syndicated versions. Each episodes runs for approximately 24:30, which is exactly how long the original episodes ran for in the late 70s/early 80s. (Syndicated episodes are edited down to 22 minutes.) One particular avid TAXI fan assures me that there is actually EXTRA footage in some of the episodes which never made it to the original broadcast. That was actually a sweet surprise, and while these new lines aren't always essential, they are definitely welcomed. (One such instance is when Jim goes back to visit his father. Alex goes with him, and the dialogue between Jim, Alex, and his father is more than when originally first aired. There are several episodes where this is the case, some featuring a extra line or two, others featuring more.) Unfortunately, while these are not the syndicated versions, there ARE some instances when the episodes have been edited, but these are ONLY due to music right constraints. The episodes "Elegant Iggy" and "Jim's Mario" both feature noticeable instances of the cast singing songs that have been cut, for example. Yes, it's a shame, but rest assured that the vast majority of episodes (i.e. those without singing) are exactly as they were originally broadcast. Not to mention the fact that (aside from one or two episodes) the show looks and sounds better than it's ever been. And for those wondering: Yes, the bittersweet comedy still holds up fantastically today. In short: You SHOULD buy this DVD set.

I love Taxi! Don't know why I didn't buy this series before now but I'm so happy I did buy it. The actors are amazingly talented and this is perfect casting. The episode where Jim's applying for his license is classic and one of my favorites. If you're looking for laughs and super entertainment, you won't be disappointed with this series.

If you enjoyed the Taxi series, this is for you and at a great price. I'm always a bit leery about buying something like this because you never know how it may have been edited. I needen't have worried though. This set is exactly what I hoped for and will give me many years of enjoyment.

I purchased Taxi and Love Boat and Gillian’s Island DVD sets. I’m tired of today’s violence on tv which has now come alive. Real Laughs from the past make me HAPPY! I’m glad Best Buy still has these on hand. Thanks Best Buy!

If you are thinking about this purchase, you most likely remember the show. I think that it is even funnier now looking back on it. When nothing else is on TV, nice to be able to pop in one of these DVDs.

good actors- crazy characters funny stories. The more you get in to it the more you realize how talented Andy Kaufman really was and what a loss it was.Divito perfect in the boss role. Great series never let you down

Best series ever; poignant, hilarious, touching, insightful, and incredibly well cast and acted. Jim is the best character ever but every actor brought special energy and love to the screen

Been waiting to get this for a while. Unbelievable cast with well defined and memorable characters. a Welcome addition to any video library. You will be rewinding going over a so many of the hilarious moments.

I can remember watching this show in syndication. I got to know all the characters. Felt like they were real taxi drivers in New York. I still find myself laughing almost 40 years later!! Buy this!!!

Great box set at an awesome price at Best buy. Loved this show growing up and still do. See were some of Hollywood's big names in their early years in this timeless classic.

Can't comment on the show - since I purchased it as a gift for someone else. But this option was by far the best - even against prices on Amazon.

Always been a fan of Taxi. This is a great series with tons of laughs. The box set is well done. IMO, the price is right, and highly recommended.
