My son already had this TCL 55s425 model for some time, so I was familiar with it. I also wanted to get my first 55" TV, so when I saw the price on Best Buy at $279, I went for it. I am so happy I did! The picture is beautiful and the sound is good too. Some of the things I like best are that you have several present picture and sound settings that you can easily tweak to your own satisfaction. Also, having Roku built right in is wonderful. I have a Roku device on my smaller TV, so all I had to do on the TCL was log into my Roku account and it automatically added all my channels linked to my account. Really been enjoying watching my favorite movies and shows on this nice, big screen!

For the price, this TV (and other TCL Roku TVs) are fantastic. The built in Roku software is easy to use and the picture quality is really good. Two areas it is lacking are brightness and blacks. If you’re watching during the day, it gets hard to see because it can’t get bright enough to offset the light coming in from outside. On the flip side, blacks give off a bit of a glow so even when a scene is supposed to be pitch black, the screen is still glowing. Obviously, these things would be better on higher ends TVs, but then you’re paying higher end TV prices. Overall, I definitely recommend this TV since it has great features and the picture quality is solid, just don’t expect the highest quality picture.

The remote will not allow you to change the tv channels by number as there is no numbers on the remote. You can ONLY access Roku. This is a serious deficiency in the remote. Otherwise, the set up and picture are wonderful.

The box is easy to open. The TV is very light. There is almost nothing to assemble. The picture is excellent. The Roku platform is easy. A definite recommend.

This tv was purchase as a replacement for a Vizio my Dad has had for 10 years. This tv has better overall picture, ease of use, and the easiest setup ever.

So far this is a great TV for the money. Easy set-up Roku and other apps available. Awesome picture. Thinking of getting another TCL for the living room.

I love this tv. It is really easy to use... even for a 50 year old like myself. The picture is really clear and 55 inches is the perfect size!!

Overall I am very pleased with the quality and price. I purchased this series 4 to replace the same TCL series 5. My old one at the cabin got hit by lightning so I needed a quick, cheaper replacement. Everything is the same about the two except the mounting location on the back. This one took a much smaller footprint mount, which fits my mount just fine, but because it is smaller there is a lot more tension on the back of the tv. I have trouble getting it to align. The same mount (which was inexpensive) worked fine with the newer Series 5 model. I'll have to get a different mount that does not have the swing arm.... too much tension.

I am absolutely in love with the size & the quality but also on top of that it was absolutely an amazing price! In love! The delivery men were very very nice!

Needed a new TV and this was definitely worth the purchase. Great size, easy to set up and use, and the picture quality is great! Would recommend.

This is not an amazing 4k TV. It's pretty average. But it's a 4k TV...for$299! You can't beat what you get for the price. This also means that I don't have to "baby" this TV. I have had it for about 4 weeks now and my two toddlers have already gotten their hand prints all over the screen. I was upset at first, but then I realized...it only cost $299! This is also a Roku TV. While Roku is not my favorite smart TV software, it's really easy to use and it has almost any streaming service you would want to watch. Overall, great TV for those on a budget and/or families with little kids who might get their fingerprints all over the screen.

This is a good TV. Easy to setup and use. This is my second TCL and I love this TV also the picture quality is and sound good. Sides are very thin and the whole TV is very light.

I bought this TV on an impulse buy after getting tired of trying to play video games on my roommate's low-quality projector. I looked into this one mainly because of the low price and it has been one of my best purchases yet! I have had no regrets in buying this TV, even out of impulse. Since it's a bugdet brand of TV, the quality isn't nearly as good as say a Sony, but for the price it's amazing seeing that it costs around the same as most 1080p TV's. I highly recommend this 4K TV if you're looking for a great TV that'll fit into a lower budget.

Enjoying my new 55” Smart TV with Roku! Love it! Great price with lots of apps. No need for an a extra cable box. Connects to my spectrum.

Not quite 2 weeks in with our new TCL yet, but overall it's fantastic - great picture, and not so "3D" looking like some of the high def wild TVs out there now (we are old lol, prefer a more traditional viewing experience, don't love feeling like we're in a live action video game or something when we're just watching tv : ) The ONLY reason this is getting 4 stars (and I'd like to give it 4.5 really) is the sound and the teeny remote - we'll prob get a sound bar anyway so that should take care of it, just seems inconsistent sometimes (too high, too low etc). Overall, what a bargain for what seems to be a great TV.

If you’re looking for the absolute best tv money can buy then this isn’t the tv for you. If you’re looking for a quality tv that has a lot of features but is easy on your wallet then this is your tv. Has a great picture, HDR, and built in roku which is super handy. Honestly a great tv to put in your bedroom or a spare room. This tv makes it easy to jump into the 4K world and get 90 percent of the benefits of that. Doesn’t have the best speakers and the remote requires line of sight but honestly for the price it’s easy to get over those things.

Very nice TV size and solid quality for the price. Best when watching or playing games at night. There is a glare, but for its price it is definitely worth.

I upgraded this TV after having a 44 inch 4K insignia smart TV for almost 3 years and the size difference was a very big improvement. The TV acted a little finicky at first but now it runs perfectly fine with no issues at all. The volume level on this compared to my previous TV is slightly lower but not really too much of an issue. The only real complaint I can make about this is that the remote is IR and the sensor is in the bottom center of the TV so you can’t have anything in front of it really but that’s not a major issue.

This is a great television for a decent price. Picture quality is outstanding. Super easy to setup and watching television in just a few minutes. The only drawback, but not a game changer, is there are no RCA jack outputs for playing the sound through a stereo. There is a headphone jack which works great for playing sound through a stereo but it's just not the same. Other than that I still give this TV 5 stars all day long.

The quality of this tv brand is great for the price. I love that it already comes with downloaded common apps. It is easy to use and the size is perfect.
