Loved this movie when i saw it in theaters, but the remaining sequels were just awful. The story and the fun this film has kept fans devoted and is enjoyable for everyone. This is a fun and great film for those that need to laugh and enjoy anytime. The blurry is better than my dvd that could not compete.

A very good story line for children 13 years and older

Got it just to watch the older version of the ninja turtles. Wasnt bad just not my cup of tea.

This was the first live-action ninja turtle film that hit theatres in 1990. It's a film about 4 turtles that are raised in a sewer by a rat as they are mutated and grow to be human sized. A big organized crime ring is hitting New York hard, a reporter investigates and gets caught up in a bad situation. The ninja turtles come out of the shadows and have to save her. This film was fantastic and really had a great atmosphere like the original comics. It was a bit dark for a kids film, but really stands up today with the dialogue, comedy, series tone, and stunt work. It's a shell of a good time.

Usually when a movie is released in 4:3, it is just a cropped version of the 16:9 widescreen offical release, but the 4:3 version on the flip side of this double-sided DVD is actually an open-matte version that has more image on top and bottom, meaning that the widescreen version is actually a cropped version of the 4:3 copy. For that reason alone this is a significant release. There is no HD release available, so this DVD is the only available source released to the public. Get it before it goes out of print!

My kids enjoyed this movie and when my daughter married, passed the movie on to her for her kids to enjoy, which they did on VHS. Now that have a great grandson, purchased it to have here for him to watch, as he spends time with us while granddaughter is at work. And like the 3 (includes myself) generations before him, he too, really enjoys this movie. So, at least in this household it has withstood the test of time, if it can please 4 generations of movie watchers.

This is the first movie for the Turtles. It has humor, action, and a good story too. The picture quality is not the best (probably because it is an older movie. 1985 I think?) The sound effects work well. The story is an origin story. It shows how the Turtles and the Shredder came about. If you like the comics or the new movies... give this one a try.

My son is into TMNT and I bought this to show him the original movie. It’s was fun to show what we thought were amazing graphics back in 1990s. Still a great movie though!

I only ever owned this movie on VHS tape. I haven't seen it since I was a kid. This is a must own movie. It's the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at their best in a live action film. Having the movie on Blu-Ray is a huge plus. This movie has always had a compelling story with compelling characters and great actors. This movie is fun for the whole family. I'm glad they brought it back for the HD remaster.

I have been looking for this movie on DVD for many years. I have a difficult time finding older movies, so when I saw this on your shelf in store, I was really excited. And it was also at a great price within my budget! I am happy to come to Best Buy because every time I do, I get surprised in a good way and blessed more than average. It's awesome!

I had a vcr tape of this movie when I was younger. I actually wore out the tape. I've been looking for all the original movies, and finally stumbled upon the first one. My excitement was out of this world! I told my husband I was buying the movie no matter what! It was just how I remembered. Funny, a little sad, and more importantly, made me feel like a kid again!

This movie is a true classic , it's great for kids and adults and in my opinion blows the modern turtles movies out of the water . It's got action , humor , and stays true to how the characters are supposed to be .I think once you've seen this you won't want to watch the modern CGI ones ever again , the second one is OK too , the third not so much .

The 1990 original TMNT is a great adaptation of the comics. It's aged very well & is still way better than the modern garbage TMNT movies out now. Worth owning on Blu-ray. Only problem is there are NO special features or extras on the blu-ray which is a shame because this movie deserves better than that.

The first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was definitely the best. Unfortunately, the protective parents of the world complained about how dark and violent the movie was, then we got all he garbage sequels that came after. Still, this movie was a strong beginning to the Turtles film franchise. Good action, good characters, and the dynamic of the relationships among the four was excellent. The character of Splinter was also very well done, as was Casey Jones.

When my kids were young, the turtles were one of their favorities. I still have the old cassette tapes of their adventures. Now my grandson is ready to ejoy them, as well as all of the pajamas, etc. the movie is fun and the graphics and colors are great. a must buy for parents or grandparents!

TMNT is a classic franchise of the many who now have families. While the trend is towards pumping out gritty remakes this title will stand forever on shelves as another piece of compelling story brought to life by Jim Henson. A personal favorite and would recommend to any fan of our "Heros in a half-shell."

The first and the best movie of ninja turtle. It have enough action humor and the turtle are cute and credible ! The turtle are better of the News one and they didnt have the technologie we have now. You gonna fall in love with them . Im sure that im not the only one who think this one is the best one

Maybe it's mostly nostalgia but I love this movie. Watched it all the time as a kid and had to get it on blu ray to share with the kids in the family now. This movie and Secret of the Ooze have definitely aged better than the other sequels which got progressively campier and are somewhat unwatchable now.
