The Voxx Terk amplified ultra-thin signal-finder HDTV antenna is an inexpensive and effective way to deliver free, over-the-air high quality HD signals to your television. While most homes have access to cable or satellite television providers (for a monthly fee) it is still possible to watch all of the major networks for free using digital antennas. All over-the-air television broadcasting in the United States has been digital since 2009. This has greatly improved signal reception (compared to the old analog transmissions) and all televisions built in the past ten years include the ability to receive these digital signals. Access to a wide variety of free programming just requires the use of an appropriate HDTV antenna. The Voxx Terk model ThinTV3M is the best such antenna I have ever used. Besides access to free over-the-air television stations, this antenna can serve as a game-saver if your cable ever goes out during a major network event (such as the SuperBowl) which you planned to watch. First, download the Terk Signal Finder app and enter your address and check the stations you are most interested in viewing. Then use your phone to determine the optimal direction to align the flat HDTV antenna. Next, plug in the integrated amplifier and observe the LED signal meter as you position the antenna . Attach the coax connector to the television and scan for stations. In just a couple of minutes, you should have access to a wide variety of HD stations! But a word of caution – follow the instructions and you will get much better results! I live in a high rise on the lakefront in Downtown Chicago, near the buildings which house the broadcast antennas for all local channels. I have to confess that the first time I tried the antenna I did not bother to use the Signal Finder app. I thought I could just attach the antenna to a window (see photo) with some painter’s tape and that would be sufficient. I ran a channel scan and it showed 60 channels being received. I was impressed, but when I tried to watch the channels some were pixelated and some important local stations were not even on the list. I was frustrated, so I did what I should have done in the first place – I read the instructions and downloaded the Signal Finder app to my phone. The Terk Signal Finder app is just a great piece of software – you simply enter your address or let the app use the phone’s location finder and then check off the stations you want to receive. I selected two local stations which had not appeared after my first scan. The app then shows you which direction to point the antenna. A red vector appears on a map and you rotate your phone until that red vector overlaps a green vector which shows the station you want. (See photo) Then just point your antenna in the same direction as your phone. I did that simple process and repositioned the Terk flat HDTV antenna in the indicated direction, then ran the channel scan again. Boom! 80 channels showed up this time, including every station that had been missing! I was mucho impressed. The Voxx Terk antenna is very well built. It is light in weight and very easy to position. I used some blue painter’s tape (which won’t harm surfaces) to hold the antenna in various locations until I was satisfied with the reception. To permanently mount it you can use thumbtacks in the two holes in the upper corners, the two-sided mounting pads included or just continue to use tape. The connecting cable is very generous – about 12 feet long – so you have a lot of maneuvering room for locating the antenna. There is an inline LED signal strength meter which can aid in positioning (see photo), but I would defer to the Signal Finder app’s direction-finding ability. The power cable to the inline amplifier (which is located in the same housing as the signal strength meter) is long enough to reach the outlet to which the TV is plugged. I am delighted to give this great device my full and enthusiastic recommendation! Buy it and you will be very happy with its ease of installation and outstanding performance.

I want sure what this antenna would do because of its shape and thin shape, however I was pleasantly surprised that it pickup channels very well and gives very nice reception.

Very good and I don’t have to keep it on the windows cause work on the wall too.

THE GOOD: Thin Phone app to find channels (antenna placement) Signal meter indicator for channels (antenna placement) Support for the future over the air 4K, 8K broadcasting ATSC 3.0 Smart Boast feature that blocks cell signals and other interference Lifetime warranty THE BAD: No USB port for power The antenna is big Phone app for channels could be better PERFORMANCE: It does the job when it comes to pulling in channels with 98 channels found after a scan, my older Mohu Leaf 50 antenna pulls in 83. The Trek signal finder app tells you where and how far away a TV station is which is good for placing the antenna at an optimal location for usual suspects like NBC,ABC,CW etc. but channels like MyTV or ION can’t be found with the app, so there is no way to search a certain channel from 98 that I have. Picture quality, signal strength is good for most of the channels. GRIPES Really wish they used USB to power instead of a regular A/C plug. FINAL THOUGHTS: Most first-time cord cutters will love this antenna since the guess work for placement is managed by the app and signal meter. The app will tell you in what direction to put the antenna and signal meter tells you if it’s weak or strong, this feature alone is worth 5 stars IMO.

I have mixed feelings about the Terk Antenna. Positives. It's paper thin and is able to be (mostly) discretely hidden. The free Terk app (iOS Terk Signal Finder) is a great way to work out 1) what channels are available in your area and 2) make sure you have the antenna positioned for optimal signal strength (see screenshot). Negatives. I didn't realize until later that the antenna signal strength measurement/amplifier is non-removable and requires to be plugged into power. I have another similar style antenna (from another manufacturer) but the amplifier is removable and USB-powered. I wish Terk had offered a similar setup - at least with USB, you can usually power it from your TV. Overall - yes, the Terk Antenna does what it should, I am able to watch HD antenna without cable! But I think this antenna is better if you're in a more remote area and need an always-on amplifier. If you don't need an always connected amplifier, then another antenna may better suit your needs. I'd definitely download the Terk App first (or use their excellent website) to make the right antenna choice.

Over the air channels come in clear and I’m happy with it overall. The setup is easy via the coaxial jack on your tv unit. Up and running fairly quickly when your tv searches for the new channels. The recommended app for finding a signal can be useful to help you point and locate your antenna. In my area I’m getting about 24 channels which are good enough for me. I can’t afford to pay cable channel rates and have been happy with watching main network channels. Overall I like the signal booster on the line to help show how strong my signal is. A nice antenna with a large footprint size that can be hung on a wall or window. Easy to use and install.

The TERK HD antenna is a great way to bring all your local channels to your TV without having to pay a hefty cable bill. If your looking for a good receiver that won't let you down regardless of the weather then this may be the way you want to go. I'll try to keep this review short and simple and get to the point as to rather or not this is the right buy for you. First off one of out of the box you get everything you need for set up. You get the main antenna, mounting stickers, free app that helps track signal stations, and a built in signal meter. Set up is very easy and there are two ways to accomplish this. First you can download the free app which will assist in proper placement of the antenna or second you can use the built in signal meter. Through the app you are able to mark off some of your favorite local TV stations that you really wish to see. From there it will ask for your address or you can either opt out and let the app use your current location. Once that info is entered it will pull up the local station towers that are near you. While holding your phone vertical the app will help as you adjust the placement of your phone, it will show you where your current signal is beaming out. What this does is help with placement of your antenna. For example lets say your holding your phone pointed North and there is a signal station off to the west. The app will give a radar like signal showing you which way your signal is heading out. Simply adjust your phone to the west until that radar like symbol engulfs the signal tower. While holding that position you now know which way your antenna has to face for the best signal. If all this seems a little confusing don't worry it really isn't. The antenna has a built in signal meter which helps to let you know that you are doing it right. There are four bars on the signal meter with Red being no signal and double green being the best. Simply adjust your antenna until both double green lights are lit for the best signal possible. Once that is done next simple go in to your TV's settings and start to scan for Air channels. The type of channels and how many you get will very depending on location and demographics. For my area i was able to pick up 70 channels including five Spanish networks. As far as channels go don't expect to get top tier cable channels such as Nick,MTV, etc. However you will receive all the basic channels for your sports need such as NBC, FOX, ABC, etc. and you can even expect to get some of the off brand more popular cable channels such as LAFF, HSN, and QVC just to name a few. Now lets talk quality and reliability. Man oh man, i was blown away by how crisp and clean the picture quality was not mention how stable the signal was also. The picture quality was easily 1080p quality with no blurs, static and break in the picture. Over here where i live we have been having a lot of storms with lightning and not once did i experience any drop outs or break in my signal strength. The picture quality is what really had me in awe. I grew up in the 80's and i'm used to the old school rabbit ear antennas that give you junk quality where your have to constantly keep adjusting the antenna as picture quality is never consistent. The picture quality coming out from this antenna was just as good as my cable providers channels. This quality was so stable and clean that it seriously has me rethinking keeping my cable provider in lou of a digital antenna and streaming service such as Sling TV. I have set up several digital antennas for my grandparents seeing as how they can't afford cable, and one thing i can tell you is their signal and picture quality never looked this good. Here's the bottom line guys. If your cable provider nickel and dimes you for every little receiver you borrow from them and your looking for a better alternative for your basic needs then this is definitely the way to go. There are three things that have me loving this set up, the amount of channels available, picture quality and the fact that it is literally paper thin. This is hands down one of the best receivers i have ever tested and what makes this unit so nice is how thin and clean the antenna looks. It doesn't look like the eye sore we all grew up with in fact in actually blended perfectly with my daughters wall. Look guys this a great unit that has yet to go down on me so far signal wise and i honestly feel this will please just about anyone out there. I've been wanting to get rid of the expensive monthly cable bill, as high as $260/month, so I began the search for an OTA antenna and settled on the Terk Amplified Ultra-Thin Signal Finder HDTV Antenna. In the box is the antenna which measures 13" x 12" (and is paper-thin as described), 12' of coaxial cable (attached to the antenna), the power cord (attached to the coaxial cable) and two-sided mounting tape. I was a little concerned with the layout of the coaxial cable and the power cord, but turned out to not be an issue as there was a power outlet at the base of the window where the antenna ended up being mounted. Installation couldn't be easier, connect the end of the coaxial cable to your antenna jack on the back of the TV, plug in the power, place the antenna and use the auto-scan feature on the TV to find the OTA broadcast channels that are available. During the auto-scan process, which took about 5 minutes, I downloaded the Terk app to my iPhone and searched for available towers broadcasting OTA signal. It's a really cool app and helped me fine tune where the antenna ended up being placed. The hope was to pick up all the channels coming out of the Boston area, but we ended up being a bit too far away for reception, so changed the placement/angle of the antenna and ended up picking up 14 channels from towers in NH. Some are duplicates and some are Spanish speaking, but there were a handful of very clear channels. Definitely play around with the antenna before sticking it to the wall or window as the signal does improve with a bit of adjustment. I used the built-in Signal Meter on the cable to assist with finding the best placement/signal strength. It's essentially a colored meter that helps find the most powerful signal and is very useful. Pros: - Super easy installation and set up - TERK app for finding towers is super helpful for antenna placement - Built-In Signal Meter - assists with antenna placement Cons: - Felt that a bit more coaxial cable could be provided, it's 12' and ran out quickly when placing the antenna. Overall I would recommend the Terk Amplified Ultra-Thin HDTV Antenna. It's affordable when compared to ongoing cable bills and super easy to install and set up. Unfortunately for me, we were too far away from Boston to pick up those channels as this model is made with approximately a 35 mile range. We are going to check out the TERK Omni-Directional, Amplified Digital Flat Outdoor HDTV Antenna so we can pick up more channels based on our location.

Purchased this antenna as an added input source to my Samsung 4K Smart TV. We live 30 miles from nearest TV station and the picture quality receive is as good as cable. We are able to receive 15 additional channel with this device. The the satellite is out or Direct TV is in a contract dispute with NBC, ABC, CBS or Fox where are still able to watch our favorite shows for free. The antenna is very thin and can be attached to a wall or window easily.

First off this antenna is paper thin and light weight. The setup and install was very easy and fast. The amplifier needs to be plugged in to a 120v outlet and also connected to your TV. There is a Terk app to help you find what channels are available around you. I'm just out side of New Orleans and I found 18 channels and 3 of them are HD. The picture is crystal clear. This is a great way to watch the local news. I was able to get a full strength signal mounting the antenna behind my TV. You can not see it at all when watching tv.

Works well enough. Have used other brands that worked just as well at 1/2 the price from Sam's Club this one is just smaller and easy to fit in a window.

Its very easy to hookup and to start using. The range isn't the greatest and it is not the most attractive thing on the wall. It does pick up locals and the sub channels quite well.

Installation of this antennae was easy. However, I can only pull in (17) local channels and I live in the metro- Detroit area. The pictures received on those channels that do come in are very clear and sharp.

It had a good picture, and it had a good range to pick up the channels. The only problem was I got it to get the NBC station and I couldn't get it, so it didn't do what I bought it for so I returned it.

I bought this for my moms FEMA trailer. Set up was easy and the thing isn’t too bad looking. The attached signal indicator is helpful but even at full signal the channels that came in changed depending on the location.

Bought it to get over air channels blocked on U-verse. Easy set up and I was able to get the channels I wanted. Did not find a lot of channels. Only able to get the main local channels and a couple shopping channels.

I cut cable due to high costs and I was watching less tv overall. I was in a bind streaming college football and noticed the game was on national tv. I ran to Best Buy and the salesman directed me this antenna. The set up is fairly easy. The only issue is finding a good place that will offer the best reception in your home without having cords everywhere. Once I found the best location, the antenna has worked well. I only tend to watch tv on Saturdays so I do not use this regularly but overall I am pretty happy with this.

Lightweight and portable the TV has great color and sound. It's easy to set up and the remote makes it a snap to operate. Just the right size for my van conversion.

We live in a rural area with lots of trees. That being said, this antenna only pulled in 3 channels for us. I’ve not yet gotten around to returning it, but it’s packaged up and ready. It was not worth the money for only three channels. Set up was simple, and the device was discrete. Hopefully in a different area it will bring in more channels.

I was able to receive over 100 over the air in high definition with this device. Also with the app I was able to configure the perfect signal. A must for those looking to get rid of cable
