Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the HDTV Antenna's reception, ease of use, and picture quality. Many also appreciate its relatively easy installation and the number of channels it picks up. However, some customers reported inconsistent signal strength and limited range. A shorter-than-ideal cord length was also mentioned as a drawback by a few users.

Placement is key for a good signal

Out of several antenna I have used the TERK HDTV is one of the best. Read the instructions for set up and placement for best results. Then literally try every position within reach of the cables you can. I found the signal meter to only be so accurate. There were spots where the signal meter was full green but my reception was better elsewhere. The only option to hook this to your TV is a coaxial cable so keep this in mind if you have any audio devices, you will need to think about how the audio gets to your sound bar etc... if you don't have an audio return channel feature. The only potential flaw with this is the length of the included cables. Since placement is key you may need more cable length to truly get the best signal. I have yet to find any extension cables. The included cables would be better if they were flat or it came with a flat sheath to mount and paint. All things considered if this will help you save over $100 per month on cable it is well worth it.

    Gets the job done

We do have cable at our house, but we wanted to add a TV to a guest bedroom without paying for an additional cable outlet. The Terk antenna has let us accomplish that. We live about equidistant from several broadcast towers, and this TV is on the second floor of our house, and it was easy to use the Terk signal finder app to select the best place to position the antenna. The drawback we have experienced is the short cords that restrict the distance the antenna can be from the TV and the power outlet. We did have some options about where to place the TV, but it would be nice not to be so restricted in our placement choices. Otherwise, the Terk antenna is doing what need it to do: provide TV access for our guest bedroom.

not much better then a non-boosted one

overall fit and finish looks great, and seems to be of quality construction and it does pick up over the air stations. BUT....its not much better then an regular non powered antenna. This antenna still will not pick up the CBS station in my area (which is around 13 miles away), so it was a disappointment. The signal level meter is helpful to position the antenna along with the iphone app to find the best general location to aim it. For my location I could not recommend this type of flat antenna.

This TV Antenna is very very thin. The antenna actually flops around some it's so thin. Installation was a breeze. Simply plug it into an outlet and attach the coaxial cable to your television (your experience scanning for channels will vary depending on your TV). The signal strength gauge is a nice little gimmick. Honestly, it didn't really add anything to my overall experience though. The antenna's thinness comes as both a blessing and curse when you go to hang this. I'm still struggling to determine the best way of affixing it to my wall, and it's currently sitting on top of a bookcase. Signal strength is pretty "meh." I've actually had stronger antennas previously, and I'm a little disappointed that this wasn't stronger. Still, it was strong enough to get all of the local channels in my area (just not strong enough to get the ones just outside of my area). All in all, this is an "okay" antenna. No negatives to speak of, but it's nothing to write home about.

Half the channels for twice the price

Pro: It’s really thin Con: Picked up less channels than cheaper basic antenna Takes up outlet Half the channels for twice the price. 2 stars because it did manage to get some channels. I know OTA antenna can be finicky, but I live near all the major towers. In the same location, my cheaper antenna was able to pick up 20+ channels, while the Turk only got 11, despite the amplifier showing full signal strength. It couldn’t even pick up Fox at all. The free app just shows a map of the nearest towers and tells which direction is optimal, but unless you live in a glass house, it’s not going to matter. The amp also requires an outlet. Not worth it.

It's very convenient seeing the signal finder. But it doesn't work for a particular channel it works for all channels. However that app works excellent finding that channel you need but it's the location you're in that becomes the problem. So if you're in a location that you're having trouble getting a signal this won't help. But it will be excellent if you just can't find the signal and you're in a good area. I did have to add an extra cord to extend my line to get in a good spot but I have a wonderful signal with all the channels I want without any interference.

I downloaded the Terk signal finder, which is a great app, and found two towers over 50 miles from us. We live in a very remote area and down in a valley. Even the I could line up my phone with the signal from the towers, the antenna would not find ANY signal. We tried everything - changing positions in all directions. Absolutely no signal. No Channels. I was hoping this antenna would be different (we've tried others), but I think it's just impossible to get any reception where we live. I do like the simple instructions and the signal finder app!

There isn't much work involved, especially since the antenna itself is so small and lightweight. It's a nice touch having a signal meter built in to the coax and power cord. I pulled in some channels better than similar small indoor HDTV antennas had in the past. The antenna itself is easy to mount to a wall or a window with the included 3M mounting tape or thumbtacks. But the coax connecting to the TV is only about 10' long, making it hard to find a good spot far enough to keep it from being ugly.
