The 8 in 1 remote for all your remote needs
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's hard not to like this universal remote. Terk (which is a brand I had never heard of) did a wonderful job with this remote, not only from a technical standpoint, but also in terms of design. Let's break down what's good and what is not so great. Pros: + Works with a massive amount of devices, including TVs, Bluray/DVD players, sound bars, streaming devices and much, much more + It's rechargeable, which saves cash as you don't need to purchase batteries + It's light and thin but doesn't feel flimsy + All keys are back-lit + Buttons have a good feel to them and are laid out very well + It comes with everything you need, including a quick start manual, a code sheet and a warranty card. Cons: - The plastic is very glossy and will catch fingerprints easily - The battery could last longer There is really nothing fundamentally wrong with this universal remote. I was able to set it up on a TCL smart TV which has Roku integrated without a hitch, same for a Vizio and a Samsung smart TV and sound bar. The setup is very easy and very quick. I can only recommend this remote.

Easily The Best Most Complete Universal Remote Out
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I have a bunch of devices that I use daily, and of course, my end table has way too many remotes on it. Some combo, but there isn't one that I currently have that could control everything. That has changed now with this universal remote. Right off the bat, the fact that it's rechargeable and doesn't take batteries that I've been used to for so many years is actually amazing. Not only is it amazing, but the fact that it's a USB-C charging port is even better, so there's no real risk of breaking like the micro USB does. When you plug it in there is a red light on the back that tells you its charging and a green when it’s complete. The illumination button makes all the major buttons backlight blue, which looks pretty cool at night and makes it really easy to use. The big kicker here for me is I still use an Xbox One for various things, and yup, you guessed it, this can actually control that too, so I don't have to pick up my actual Xbox controller just to do a couple of button presses and then turn it back off, which saves a lot of time and annoyance. It's really easy to set up, and it comes with a code list of all major brand items, even non-major brand, honestly, and it shows codes for things like projectors, digital TV tuners, DVD players, cable set-top boxes, Blu-ray players, streaming video players like Apple TV, Roku TV, Fire TV, audio receivers, sound bars, CD players - the list goes on. It's actually crazy how complete it is. I assumed I would have to go online and start looking up codes and stuff like in the past, but nope, it's all in the paper that comes with, which is essentially like eight pages long, lol. The shape of the remote is thin and flat. It's up to you how to perceive that. Personally, I like the squared-off edges, feeling like I'm holding something properly rather than rounded edges on something like a Chromecast or something. So, this is probably the most complete and useful universal remote I've ever used in my life. Highly recommended.

Say Goodbye To The Classic Remote.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had never programmed a remote before and was intimidated, but the instructions were super easy to follow. I didn't know my device's #, or even that they had them, going in to the process. Iirc, programming the remote took about 2 minutes, and only took that long because I got distracted. Nowadays, as you all know if you are "Vacationer's" many hotels give guests limited remotes that can't access all the TV's features, such as input. This remote can operate with any brand of TV and so far has worked 100% of the time so far with going on recent Vegas Vacations and staying at the Resorts/Casino Hotels. This remote gets my 5 star rate of approval. Don’t think I have ever used anything electronics related, that worked so flawlessly and without effort. I’m impressed. When I received this this it came with the included batteries, and also a "USB" (usb mak take up to an hour for a full charge, that will last up to 13 hr) Turned on my TV, held the button down as directed, worked like a charm. No frustration whatsoever Highly recommend this remote!

Best Universal Remote
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Terk got it right. This thing is easy to program, can be programmed to mimic darn near anything, and with the rechargeable batteries, I won't be chewing through AAA batteries or needing to reprgram the remote every time I replace said batteries either. A good buy indeed!

Doesn't work well with Sony audio devices
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro: -Can lock volume and channel changing to one function -Macro recording Con: -Doesn’t work well with Sony audio devices -Some functions doesn't work properly The TERK remote is a simple, easy to set up universal remote that can control up to 8 devices. It uses numeric code entry to program each device based on their brands. It has a lock function that lets you control volume and channels of other devices while using the TV. It also has macro functions, able to record up to 14 steps and assign them to one of the function buttons. It has a rechargeable, but not removable, battery with a USB-C cable. While it worked with a lot of devices I’ve tried it on, it has some issues with some devices and it didn't work well with my Sony audio devices. It also will not work with devices that don't use IR such as the Fire TV. The remote seems to only be able to control common basic functions and seems to have problems with some menu navigation or specific device functions. I have mostly Sony devices, and their audio devices mostly didn’t work with the remote. I also tested it on a Hisense TV, a Roku, and Fire TV. For the Sony devices, I was able to get it to work fine with my TV and Blu-ray player. I could access all the menus and all the common functions just fine. However, on my receiver and soundbar, the only function to work correctly was the volume. None of the menu could be used. Random buttons may control one setting, such as pressing the Disney+ button would toggle a sound setting on my soundbar. On the Hisense TV, some of the buttons were mismatched and some menu navigation didn’t work. For instance, I could pull up the menu but couldn’t exit. And I had to press the Samsung Hub button to bring up the Home menu. Other functions seem to work fine. So it mostly works with basic commands as long as I don’t have to use the menu too often. For streaming devices, the Roku works. It won’t work with the Fire TV since it uses a bluetooth remote and not an IR one. This remote is probably best for the very basics of setups, like controlling TV volume and channels, controlling a Blu-ray player, and a Roku. Depending on the brand, some functions may not work well or not at all. For my case, I would still need a remote to control my Sony audio devices and not being able to properly navigate the menu of my TV, made it not worth using.

Great remote, great features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this remote to replace the one that came with my TV and to try to minimize the number of remotes needed to operate it and the peripherals that are connected to it. I opened up the package and was headed to my battery drawer to find some AA or AAA batteries, when I remembered that it was rechargeable. This is by far one of my favorite features. It came with a USB-C cable, but no charging brick which was fine as I have plenty around the house. The batteries on these things always seem to go out at the most inopportune time and when you cant find any spare batteries. After plugging this up to let it charge for a few hours, I came back to set it up. Setup was surprisingly simple. The box comes with a printout of codes and a one page, step by step guide to setting up your devices. There is a little bit of trial and error with this as there are multiple codes that can be used for each device. If you try to program one code and it doesnt work, just try the next one. I didnt have any issues with not finding a code for all of my devices. If you do have a problem finding the code, there is an auto search feature, but I didnt need to try it. There are macro keys that are very useful as well. There are presets for Netflix, Hulu, YouTube and Disney. I really like the backlight keypad as well. Definitely a great feature for my usage. Now only if it had some sort of tracker for those times that my kids leave the remote in some far corner of the house, it would be the perfect remote. Jokes aside, this is an awesome remote and it has more than fit my needs so far.

Easy to set up and use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The terk universal remote is easy enough to set up. It's comfortable to use and has some nice features. The setup process is likely familiar if you've used a universal remote before. Just hood the button of the device you want to control and enter the code designated for it, then make sure it works. Setting up my devices was easy. This includes my Xbox, LG TV, marantz audio receiver and Cox cable box. I'll be adding other devices too. Overall everything works well. You even have the option to set up macros, so that you could do things like switch inputs before controlling another device. There was issue that I couldn't seem to find a solution for. There didn't seem to be a way to switch inputs on my marantz receiver. This was causing some problems for me, since I was unable to change to the necessary input there. I'm going to experiment to see if I can find a solution. I also wish the backlit buttons were able to be activated by motion, rather than only a button. It's a minor things, but other remotes I've used in the past have had the feature of lighting up when you pick them up. Otherwise, this remote is very easy and comfortable to use. Pros: easy setup, lightweight, rechargeable, backlit keys Cons: backlight can only be activated with a button (not motion activated), my surround sound receiver wasn't able to change inputs using the remote

Time to move that pile of remotes aside!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must admit, it sure is nice that I no longer have to keep track of more than one remote! If you're like me and you have multiple devices in your home theater, then search no further, this remote is the ticket! Unboxing was simple and painless, inside you will receive the remote, quick start guide, user manual and a very thorough device code list. They made the device setup a breeze with an easy to understand guide that explains how to get it setup quite well! There a multiple ways you can program each of your devices via; manual code entry, automatic code search (most popular brands), and automatic search (all brands). I tested all three entry methods with success but I found the auto search method to be the easiest, most convenient programming method. After quickly reading through the manual, I was able to have all my devices programmed and fully functional within about 10 minutes. I am finally able to throw this stack of remotes in a drawer and forget about them! This universal remote will give you a lot of convenience at a great value! I recommend you give this one a try!
