I have so much fun with Tetris 99! It's a Battle Royale mode meets Tetris gameplay with much more involved! Now while the main game does require you to be online, this packaged version also comes with the DLC that allows offline play, which is a big plus for those looking to brush up on their skills when they don't have an internet connection. You start out playing regular Tetris and, as you destroy rows, you can send them to enemies (98 other players who are also randomly paired against you online) but they can also send theirs to you as well. As the field narrows down, it gets faster and tougher! I believe the best I did was 7th place...haven't seen first yet! There is also a two player mode and you can also play and earn themed levels! This also comes with a 12 month Nintendo Switch online subscriptions. That's a $20 value with the game (including DLC) costing $10. This would be the exact same price as if you just got the online, downloaded the free Tetris 99 through the eShop and then purchase the DLC for $10. HOWEVER, if you are able to do like I did and get this cheaper using rewards certificates, you'll save money. Hope you enjoy Tetris 99, see you on the battlefield!

I freakin' LOVE Tetris, ever since I first played the game on the Nintendo Gameboy back when I was about 3 or 4. This entry is by far my FAVORITE due to the fact that you're going up against 99 other players globally. I love it so much that I actually went ahead and purchased the physical cart.

Nintendo online and Tetris 99 for $30 is a hrwat value. My one reservation on giving it a perfect score was that this is a different tetris for better and for worse. If you plan on playing tradtional vs with a friend in the same room...that can't be done yet. You beef to play vs with that friend and 97 other cpus... it is still fun but different.

Yes, the basic digital version is free on Nintendo's e-shop, but this actually comes with the single-player DLC as well as an online subscription. Considering the DLC is $10 and the online sub is $20, you basically get the cartridge for free. It's modern Tetris that everyone and their grandma knows and loves. What more really needs to be said?

I've loved Tetris ever since I was a kid. This is classic Tetris fun, with some modern twists such as the ability to play against 99 CPUs and online play. The 12-month Nintendo Switch online membership is cool. I was able to play classic Nintendo and Super Nintendo games, such as the original Super Mario Bros, etc.

Tetris 99 for the Nintendo Switch is definitely a leap into a new direction for the hard-hitting and addictive puzzle game. The game which was originally only a buy for those whom have purchased Nintendo Switch online subscriptions for the Switch, is now available for all puzzle fans. The game is still just as addictive and entertaining like it was 30 years ago. Graphically, Tetris looks amazing and the game has the iconic moves that still stand out. There are so many different ways to play, but what separates this version from the ones from the past is the new online competitions, and the classic marathon gameplay which is just like the classic mode from 1989. The control is simple and doesn't pull out new tricks though that make it worth while. But there are a few disadvantages to the new Tetris game. One is that the online gameplay could've had more challenges. While it is good, I was thinking there could've been more outstanding to keep the classic puzzler to a new generation. Also, I was hoping they could've had more excitement for those whom have been stuck on Candy Crush Saga for so long, to really fall in line with this game. But the fact that you do get a 1-year online subscription to Switch online with this purchase, it doesn't feel as wasted as it could've been.

This is a great game. Although you can get it for free if you already have Nintendo online, but this will pay for another year of it and you can play the game anywhere without wifi since it’s on a cartridge

In this copy of Tetris 99, you get a 1-year membership to Nintendo Online in addition to the game on physical cartridge! The membership is required to play matches online. You also get all the DLC for the game which is normally $10. If you prefer having this game digitally (the base game is free anyway), it may just be worth getting it off the eShop instead.

Just like the free version with so much more. Different play modes, a 1 year online subscription and access to future paid downloads! If you like the free, you'll REALLY like the paid.

First of all the included 12 months of Nintendo online is a great idea. The Tetris 99 game is so fun and addicting... If you like competition and Tetris than this is a must buy.

As a major tetris fan in general i am biased, but with that said the online play of this game is great and free, but getting the full cart version opens up the gameplay with additional offline modes and more features as they expand the software with updates over time. Plus is also nice to get the switch online subscription included between that and the free year i got through my prime/twitch membership I am set with switch online through 2021!. Anyways if you think you might enjoy this game try the free version first and if you want to enjoy the full version pickup this game.

Really fun classic tetris game but with online against 99 other players. Daily challenges, and other modes make this a great game to play every day.

Can't go wrong with 12 months online and Tetris. Tetris is worth more than ten bucks. Still a great game after all these years.

This game is so nostalgic for me. Love it. And it came with a 12-month membership too. Great great deal.

I can't believe they've made so many Tettris games... I remember back on the Super Nintento when they just came out with Tetris 2, now they're on Tetris 99 which is more games than Megaman has! (there are only 11 megaman games as of this writing). Anyways this game is a ton of fun and still manages to make the testris formula fresh after all this time by introducing the T-Spin, a new advanced technique that is sure to crush your opponents!

Great Tetris game. It’s old school mixed with online play. Makes it challenging and fun to play online.

While you’re able to download a free version of Tetris 99 on the Nintendo Eshop I love being able to have a cartridge version of the game. However it is a bit of a hassle to change to the cartridge for the full game even if you have the free version downloaded but that’s really a small nitpick. Also the 12 months of free Nintendo online that come with it also adds on to this great deal.
