BMTH has changed

I have been a fan of this band all along the way. Oil has some of the best screams in the scene. Ive felt bad for the guy as he has struggled with drugs and depression. Finally he has a grip on his life and this cd is his message to the world to those who are struggling in life. There is a light in the darkness. There is hope.
If you only like BMTH for its screams, this isn't for you. You'll buy it and then complain about how they sold out, blah blah blah. BMTH are musicians who will make the kind of music they want to. Oil isn't in a dark place no more and the music shows. This is their strongest release to date. I am super proud of these guys. The few singles are the "heaviest" songs on the disc. The rest are basically Drown.
If you're new to the band, this is a fantastic place to start. If you aren't a fan of the band because of how heavy they were, buy this right now! YOU WILL LOVE IT.
But don't buy this if you are going to knock the band just because they changed or it isn't your brand of smokes. lol

I was late to the game on BMTH, got into on Sempiternal, but this record is phenomenal. Every song is catchy and has huge choruses. It is more mainstream and has a few semi ballad moments, but overall cannot say enough good things about this record. It is a must.

I recently started to check out Bring me the Horizon and boy am I glad I did! I am thoroughly enjoying this, it's less heavy and more poppy then their previous albums but I enjoy the lighter sound and cleaner vocals just as much. If your looking for some new music give this album a look, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

This album was produced by the keyboardist and he did a fantastic job with it. Every song is worth a listen and the production values are on point. The vocals are definitely different and more cleans involved but that doesn't make it bad!

I've loved Bring Me The Horizon for quite a while and I love their new disc. Their music has changed over time but they are still as good as they used to be, in my opinion. I love them and their music.

I feel that this album is different that previous Bring Me the Horizon efforts. This album isn't as heavy and thus more "radio friendly". Highly enjoyable but didn't get 5 stars because it's not as heavy. This is an album that I can listen to start to finish

I wasn't always the biggest BMTH fan until this album came out, and now they're becoming one of my favorite bands! Throne is my favorite song on the album.

This album speaks to me in ways I can't even explain. Great for long car rides. Songs 1-11 are worthy of a listen. Definitely their best album to date!

Although I personally thought the last album before it was better, this new one is still a need to hear for those who like this genre of music.

This is a pretty far cry from what they usually put out but it's a beautiful album nonetheless. I've been obsessed with it since it came out!

This is honestly the best BMTH album out there this far. Great lyrics surrounded by plenty of "one liners" that really get you thinking.

BMTH's evolution

The boys in Bring Me The Horizon continue to evolve with their latest release, That's The Spirit. You must listen to the album with an open mind and accept, while it's the same band, they aren't angry kids anymore and have made an extremely diverse and deep album. The opener "Doomed" showcases Oliver Sykes vocal ability with a continuous beat and a fitting guitar riff. The next few songs were released prior to the albums release. Happy Song and Throne have seen radio play. Follow You is something of a ballad to, I'm guessing Sykes now wife. There is an alternate version of Drown - though, I'm not entirely sure what the difference is from the single that had been released earlier in the year. Lastly, the album closer "Oh No" has a trancey beat that almost sounds like a song you'd hear in dance club at night.
If you aren't expecting Sempiternal part 2 or another There is a Heaven...you should like this album.

I greatly enjoy this album. This is way more alternative rock than metalcore which is what BMTH used to be.

I purchased this album the day it came out expecting to hear something heavy, just like their old albums. You're not gonna find it here. It's a good album overall and the band really changed. i don't mind the change, but it definitely threw me off a bit. If you really love Bring Me The Horizon, I recommend just buying the album and forming your own opinion. Some people really love their new style, others not so much. Still worth the purchase though.
