As a long time Springsteen fan, I have already owned these albums on vinyl, then cassette, then CD and now remastered CD. This is an excellent package, getting all of the early albums in one set. Some songs you will not find much difference in the sound quality, other songs, the difference is dramatic. The early albums have a much cleaner sonic quality and are more full (warm) sounding. Some of the later albums have much tighter bass and other subtle differences. The bass on Cover Me from Born In The USA sounds completely different from earlier releases. Maintaining the original album artwork and liner notes makes this package even more interesting.

With the exception of Born to Run and Darkness on the Edge of Town, Bruce Springsteen's early CD catalog had not received an upgrade in sound quality like most of his peers such as the Beatles and Bob Dylan. This box set corrects this as the first 7 seven Springsteen albums have been remastered by engineer Bob Ludwig with the results approved by Bruce. The improved sound is most apparent on Greetings From Asbury Park and The River. The bass is much improved on the Born in the U.S.A. If you are a Bruce fan this is a must pickup! Playing them all back to back as I recently did is a great listening experience.

I'm a fan of this box. Though a bit louder than their predecessors, I am very pleased with the remastered sound on these new CDs. I can recommend this as a good purchase for those who are new to the Boss, or who'd like to replace previous editions. Another selling point for me was the authentic mini-LP style cardboard jackets, replicating the look of the LPs down to the smallest details-- similar to the Bob Dylan and Beatles mono sets, as well as the Clash remasters from 2013. The quality of the packaging as well as the remastered audio makes this an easy title to recommend.

The albums included here are the cream of Springsteen's recording career, but the biggest draw for most fans is the remastering job. The first two albums in particular really benefit, but it'd be nice if they'd release the seven titles as standalones, so those of us who already got the Darkness and Born to Run boxes aren't forced to double-dip. (Technically these are different remasters than those found in said box sets, but I dare you to tell the difference.)

My oldest son died in 1985 at the age of 14. He was a diehard "Bruce" fan and all of my kids have followed that loyalty. I gave the Box set to my now oldest son for his collection. I was very pleased that it was easy to get thru the Best Buy site, and was delivered so fast. It gave me a lot of satisfaction knowing that I got the one main item on his Christmas list. Some of the best albums of Bruce's career, remastered for a new century. Worth the upgrade if you've still got decades-old CDs.

Bruce Springsteen is America's true poet. If you don't have his early studio albums then you must buy this collection.

If there was any doubt in your mind about The Boss' place as an all-time great in rock and roll history - and really, how could you ever doubt - all of those doubts will vanish when listening to these albums, his first seven albums, and all of them classics. This collection includes the seminal classics "Born to Run", "Darkness on the Edge of Town" and "Born In The USA", the eclectic double-album "The River", the stark beauty of "Nebraska" that will conjure up memories of Woody Guthrie, and his wildly energetic first two albums before he found his "classic sound". Also included is a 60 page booklet with press clippings that is a treat to read, if you've got eyesight good enough to read the tiny print. Tremendous, tremendous package that every true rock fan needs in his or her collection. And if you're a Boss fan, these are all albums you were probably going to get anyway, so why not get them all in one convenient package? It gets my stamp of approval.

I'm listening to the remastered CDs in my car (can't find my old headphones) and the quality is unbelievable! If you are a Boss fanatic, you've got to own this set. I can't wait for Vol. 2!
