Great Transfers, Tight Disc Sleeves

This is a great 4K Hitchcock collection, with the best quality transfers I've seen at home (so far) of the Master's choice works. The only knock is that the set comes in a book format and it's hard to get the discs out without getting fingerprints on the discs, so be prepared with a soft cloth after you've removed them.

Like watching a new movie on 4K Ultra HD!

A good, solid selection of Hitchcock films. In my theater room, these films come alive in 4K Ultra HD on my JVC projector. Rear Window is my favorite movie of this group and I wish it had the DTS:X audio treatment but the 2.0 lossless sound is quite good and it works with my AVR's expanded sound fields...slick package for these movies seals the deal for me!

Worth the Upgrade to 4K

I have finally completed watching all titles in the collection and can easily say this is a must have for any Hitchcock fan. The quality of the image in 4K is outstanding and the sound options are also spot on. Even if you have previously released Blu Ray versions of the movies, it is worth an upgrade to 4K.

I learned a lot about how the movies. In Rear Window, they changed the studio to give a more realistic appearance of the neighborhood. The acting gave the movie more depth. The tension in Pyscho, provided excitement to the movie. San Francisco is presented as it was in the 1950's. The methods used in The Birds was unique.

I have watched all four of the 4K versions of the movies and they look great considering on long ago they were actually filmed. The Birds has always been my favorite and it brought back a lot of memories about when I first saw it as a kid and watching it with my sister. We totally afraid to go out in the yard for fear of the blackbirds stalking us.

Phenomenal 4k HDR masters with excellent bonus content throughout the package. For this price nobody should be disappointed with what they're getting. As an added treat you get to see the unedited version of Psycho for the first time in over half a century, so it's got that going for it, which is nice.

No issues whatsoever with the packaging or playback. The films themselves have never looked better on home video, short of owning a pristine 35mm print, this is the definitive home version of these 4 films. Oh, and it comes with the uncut version of PSYCHO, which has never been released on home video in the US. Why isn't this in your cart already?!?

It is a pleasure to see some Hitchcock titles on 4K.
An excellent release. The real winner here over previous releases is Psycho, which has gained an impressive new remaster and had some cut footage reinstated for this release.
However, it is Vertigo, whose VistaVision presentation takes the most advantage of 4K HDR and just looks stunning.

I’m a huge fan and was overjoyed to see they were releasing almost all my favorite Hitchcock movies on 4K. You will not be disappointed. The movies are beautifully pictured in 4K quality to the point it almost felt like the first time viewing them again. My favorite was Vertigo...just amazing! I hated the price but it was worth at least to me.

All five movies have been restored from the original 35mm film. They look like new, very enjoyable. The only down side is the packaging, each disk is inside a cardboard page almost impossible to remove without getting fingerprints on the disk. The first disk had problems playing, until I cleaned it. Otherwise I recommended this purchase.

Not a big fan of the digibook packaging, where you have to slide the discs out of cardboard sleeves. But the movies are Hitchcock classics and good to see them here in 4K. It's odd that this release features only 4 films, where the previous blu-ray version of this set included North By Northwest. Oh well, still a solid set and good buy if you can find under $50.

These films are my favourite of Hitchcock’s but especially VERTIGO in HDR 10 and DTS:X! Love the overall image quality and the film quality looks amazing and the audio is superb! All these movies have stood the test of time and continue to for generations to come! I just wish Universal would release all his movies in 4K UHD !

The movies are great, the restorations make the movies look like new. The packaging, as many others have commented, as cheap and poor. Like many others, I have had issues with freezes while watching the movies. I believe, however, that these are caused mostly by fingerprints that must be cleaned whenever a disc is removed from the cardboard sleeve.

I'm very impressed with the quality of this set. Great picture and audio from all these classics.
Unfortunately, the discs come in tight cardboard sleeves that make them difficult to remove. My Vertigo disc skips at the 48 minute mark due to a light scratch from removing the disc.
This is unfortunately a common problem with 4k sets from Universal.
I recommend removing the discs as gently as possible, and placing them in separate cases to prevent any damage.

I wish the packaging was better. I don't like having to pull out the discs with my fingers instead of popping them out. Regardless, from best/must watch in 4K to decent transfers, my ranking of the movies are 1) Vertigo, 2) Psycho, 3) Rear Window, 4) The Birds.

Four classic Hitchcock movies all in one box set. The movies look great they did a really good job with the 4K transfer. If you're a Hitchcock fan and you like these movies this is the set for you the movie's never looked better or sounded better than they have now.

The picture quality of each is variable, but that's a result of the existing film elements, not Universal's sterling work. The Birds looks uneven because of all the process effects; Vertigo might be the most stunning 4K Blu-ray I have ever seen.

Some excellent titles to get Hitchcock off and running on UHD. Vertigo looks especially great, having been filmed on VistaVision filmstock. Rear Window and Psycho also look really nice. Haven't watched The Birds yet, as it's my least favorite of the four.

Magnificent box set. Unlike so many sets, all these films are great. The 4K resolution and High Dynamic Range pass enhance all films, most especially Vertigo, which was filmed in the large-format VistaVision process. A must for film enthusiasts.
