The Assassin is a foreign film from Taiwan that features spectacular cinematography and great costume design that captures 8th century China. The story follows a woman who gets exiled from her clan and gets taken in by a nun to be trained to become an assassin. From there she goes on a mission to kill her former fiancé, the leader of her former clan.

As always, the service was/is great...selection good and always going back! Best Buy rocks!!!

premise of the movie ok, hate subtitles, take away from the enjoyment of the movie

A beautiful and moving film. Zhang Ziyi does wonderful as "The Assassin".

I enjoy the Korean, Chinese, and Hong Kong action movies, and this one doesn't disappoint. Lead role, she's superb. Nice to see balance in the "Jet Li"/Jackie Chan" genre with strong female leads...no damsel in distress. If you like these type action movies, this is one for your collection.
