Very cool idea for a concept album, making it a futuristic rock opera. The guitar, drums, and keyboard are everything you'd expect from a great Dream Theater album and the vocals are fantastic as well. Would love to see this performed live someday.

Not what I had expected at all. Beginning to sound more like Rudess and company than Dream Theater. Possibly why Mr. Portnoy left the band? The hard edge is replaced by keyboard doodling. ALOT of keyboard doodling. Not a fan of this disc at all.

This music unfolds like a play, a lot of different characters but the story is interesting. This takes full concentration while listening, would not recommend putting this on at a party, sounds really great on a pair of headphones.

If you like Dream Theater, this album has a lot of moments to like and love. A 2 cd concept album might be too much for some, but its worth a listen from start to end, then you can just go back and listen to your favorite tracks.

I actually bought this album for my fiancée who likes this band more than I do, as I'm not the biggest fan of prog. I like a few of their songs from a few of their albums, but it's a very good album and I would recommend it.

I have been a fan of Dream Theater since they were called Majesty. They have had some great albums and some misses, but this one just doesn't do it for me. I tend to gravitate towards the heavier tracks and this double disc doesn't have too many. There is some great music on here, however, the keyboards seen to overpower the guitars on many tracks. I appreciate the effort the band put in on this release, but from what I've been reading online, many diehard DT fans are disappointed. They need to come back with a vengeance with their next release.

Worst DT album maybe ever. Disc one takes forever to get going and when it does the music seems to always come to an lull. There's 60 songs on each disc and their for the most part all structured the same which is unlike them. I usually like anything they write but this is different there's no energy no drive just plain lazy. Defenders of this album say its what a "rock opera" is supposed to sound like but I think it sucks. They need Portnoy back I'm sick of this weak a** prog rock opera garbage. I NEED PROG METAL.

I found myself listening to the 2nd CD included more than the First. Some really interesting material on here. It is perfect set of CD's to take on a long road trip.

I was expecting another brilliant concept album from DT, akin to Metropolis pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory, but alas, it was not to be. I'll still listen to it, though.

A spectacular concept album by the band that refuses to let the genre die. This one will really take you back to the days of 2112, both thematically and musically. I put this right behind Scenes from a Memory as far as their all-time best albums, and if you get a chance to see them live you won't be disappointed!

I love Dream Theater. This album is great but not among my favorites. They have so many by now, so many fans are going to find it difficult to choose a favorite.

This new Dream Theater concept record is nothing new or ground breaking. It actually has less edge than I was hoping for. Very keyboard heavy.

I'm a huge Dream Theatre and love all of their albums. This one may obviously not be their best but it does have a few great songs.

Take time to listen to ALL of it at one time. It is like watching a movie. You need to set aside the time to enjoy it as a whole

Dream Theater revisits their past roots with a modern Theater sound. The last couple of albums were more on the metal side where as this album covers all of their past styles with a technical update. Play it and enjoy the ride.

Definitely not heavy or fast. Different style than I am used to from DT. Not bad but not great.
