I liked the movie. What I mean by TV movie is low-ish budget, not the best acting, and a kinda dumb plot. Unfortunately, Horror movies in general suffer from those three issues anyway. The thing that stands out to me is the blood and gore effects. They used a lot of real props and practical effects, and the manner in which kills are set up are fun. I was wavering between like 3 - 3.5 stars, but you can't really give half stars on Amazon... Right now I'm feeling a tad generous, So... 4 Stars. I was initially hesitant on giving a review, but as there is only One review of someone who actually saw the movie, I feel the need to contribute. Hope more people give honest reviews, as the remaining reviews are written prior to the movie's digital release.

This was certainly not the best movie I’ve ever seen. But it wasn’t the worst either. As someone who often enjoys “bad” movies ... I wouldn’t even really put it in that category. The people who made this obviously loved the Banana Splits ... and they love horror. So they attempted to blend the two. It was at least entertaining ... and I will watch it again.

This movie is a campy throwback to the cheesy horror movies of the 70's and 80's. It takes our favorite and fun loving childhood friends the Banana Splits and turns them into killers. It is an interesting twist on the show and the characters.

So here you get the movie, a few short features, and a digital copy. Here's the kicker, this was on Syfy after the release (was it uncut?) hit stores. Also a bummer, no 4k UHD Blu-ray release but is available on VUDU digitally on 4k. I don't like paying $19.99 for a 4k digital only copy. Call me old fashioned but I like physical media. So how's the movie itself? Surprisingly pretty good. It might seem like a basic cable plot at first and there's no language but then comes the gore. It gives me a perverse thrill to see actual kids show characters who go psycho. I don't think others exactly need to follow suit but it's a novelty that works here. The gore is good, it's very gory and earns it's R. The horror fx are good. So if this sounds appealing to you, I give it a mild recommendation.

For a fan of the original show this may not be your horror film. But for old school props and bloody gore you may want to view this film for your own sake. The plot goes from kid friendly to family killings in small time frame I'd still recommend it though.

Don't watch this if you want to retain your love of the original show and characters. However, if you like your Saturday morning playing some creepy character roles, then this campy film is for you. Worth the price of admission for the cheep price paid!

Creepy and gory, but also lots of fun. The characters on the original show were creepy enough. This film just takes things way over the edge.

Just bought it cause it looked like a Five Nights of Freddys copy. Watched it and thought that it was pretty good.

If you enjoyed the Banana Splits Show on Saturday morning when you were a kid... This is a walk down memory lane.

I really laughed when I heard there was a Banana Splits Movie. Then I saw the trailer and thought Wow really crazy. But it is worth it for a Horror/Comedy

NOT FOR CHILDREN!!!!! NOT YOUR PARENTS OR GRANDPARENTS BANANA SPLITS!!!! After that little hurdle, if you enjoy campy b-movies with lots of cheap practical effects and bad acting, then this is the movie for you. I absolutely loved this movie and couldn’t stop laughing at just how it was so bad it’s good quality. Definitely a great Saturday Afternoon or Midnight Movie to watch. Hopefully they do a Riff Tracks on it someday.

This movie was better than expected. I was happy with the purchase. The unexpected gore factor was nice. Not over the top gory and done very well.

I screened this at the assisted living center where I volunteer--it was a big hit!

Movie can be mixed at times, but the gore feels like classic horror. Worth giving a shot if you like horror movies

I grew up with the Banana Splits, but these are not those Banana Splits, hard to see them as maniacal murderous crew.

Didnt know what to expect but overall a good movie. King of like 5 nights of freddy. Not the original banana split.

The Banana Splits are reimagined as slasher robots. It’s an alright movie, I expected a little more from the acting.

I bought this because I liked watching it on Saturday Morning. I saw it at Best Buy and purchased it. I was mostly curious about it. I did enjoy it but a little surprising because of the nature of the movie. I won't spoilt it for anyone that wants to see it. Not really a movie for little children but I enjoyed it because I like horror/scary movies.

I grew up with the Banana Splits, so I had to see this movie. It's essentially the opposite of everything we loved about the Splits. It's a cut and dry slasher flick. Not a very good film, but at the same time I couldn't stop watching it. It's so bizarre of a concept, that it's kinda fun in its own unique way. I wouldn't pay full price, but if you're a Splits fan, maybe check it out.
