Our whole family really enjoyed The Book Thief. I've heard the book is even better! I highly recommend this for ages 13 and older. Some of the themes might be too much for younger ones. An entertaining and interesting movie!

This was an adventure back to a time before freedoms were a liberty, the freedom to read, to write, and the freedom to those who are of different ethnicity to live without threat based on hate and fear! Loved the movie!!

This is a story about the life of a girl orphaned during the war and the relationships she made during her teen years. Intense drama at times, with sadness and loss as well as hope and future happiness.

This is such a fantastic movie about the war in Germany. We get to see a part of the war that we never understood. It's an emotional movie all around. I'm glad that I could pick this amazing movie up for such a good price.

Best Buy has a great selection of movies at a great price, and this movie is one of the best I have seen in a while. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good movie that will tug at the heart strings.

The Book Thief was a totally enthralling movie - I couldn't tear myself away. In fact, less than a week later and I can't wait to watch it again tonight! If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!

This is one of the best movies I'd seen in years. I got it via the Redbox. And, when I saw this price of this movie I had to buy it. Best Buy rocks. I own the movie for about a $1 more than I rented it for. #Winning

A very interesting movie. I enjoyed the story and was intrigued by the narration. I do not want to spoil anything, but I would recommend it for adults. has action, has feeling, has surprises.

During the horrors of World War II in Germany, young Liesel finds solace by stealing books and sharing them with others. In the basement of her home, a Jewish refugee is being protected by her adoptive parents. Interesting use of narration.

This is a great movie by which to introduce very serious subject matter (The Holocaust; Authoritarianism; etc) in the context of a very tender family setting. The movie is delightful and fast-moving.

I saw this movie - The Book Thief - at a theatre last year and when it became available for the home, I snapped it up. Watched it the evening I bought it. Great story, well done movie. I'm sure the book was great, too.

This original story ( based on a book with the same title) has moments of excitement, fun and great sadness. It is definitely not your "run of the mill " war movie. A must see.

I originally purchased this dvd for my son. We as a family, watched this dvd with our entire family. The plot was so moving. We had a good family discussion about the actual times portrayed in this movie.

This movie really has you on edge as you're watching and hoping that he does not get caught and sent to a concentration camp. It was nice to see that he survived and their friendship lasted a lifetime.

I read the book first and then rented the movie. When I saw that it was on sale, I had to buy it. To understand the movie, you have to read the book first. Glad to have this movie in my collection.

Great movie to watch with family, or mothers and daughters. I saw this in stores for months and had no idea it would be this good. Acting great. A wonderful movie about the test of human character.

Not my usual cup of tea. A young lady subjected to the horrors of WW2 Germany steals books that are banned to share with others. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and the price was right.

This is a moving story about a girl who falls in love with books in WWII Germany. THe book is better, but this movie does a good job of tracking the book and capturing its essence.

I really enjoyed this movie. It is written from an orphan's perspective. The story line and plot kept you interested. The viewer could not accurately anticipate the outcome and that makes for a great watch. Bring your tissue as you will laugh and cry viewing this movie.
