I had such high hopes for this game but it's only decent since it's only worth playing once for the story

Beautiful visually and clunky gameplay. Focused too much on melee and character movement entirely too slow.

This new take of a Dead Space spiritual successor is a fun and challenging game.

This was the first game I bought at launch since the ps5 came out over 2 years now. All my games I have gotten either used or at a discount.Game is great and played using a headset the first round. Got it at launch and only had 2 crashes closer to the end of the game(before first patch was released.) Wether your a dead space fan or not you will still enjoy the game. Overall I give it a solid 8/10.

The game has good mechanics, movement feels responsive, an alright story, and there are similarities to dead space but is far too short for a $70 asking price

For those looking for another Dead Space, think again. The combat system in the game needs some getting used to. If you approach it like a fighting game, or if you are old enough to remember "The Grid" from arcades, the movement is very similar to that. There are some moments later that kind of clash with the pacing of the game, but overall it's a great first outing for this studio of veterans.

Graphics really show off next generation. Gameplay is below average

I loved the Dead Space series and, although this might not be as good, it is still a great game that plays in a sinilar fashion and armosphere. I loved it from beginning to end on the PS5. The new patches have really made the experience very enjoyable.

I went into this game really wanting it like it, but was left feeling like it was a chore to play through. The game's main selling point was that it has taken a lot of inspiration from the Dead Space series, especially given that it was directed by one of Dead Space's co-creators Glen Schofield. Unfortunately, that hype was not lived up to. Anyway, here's my pros and cons: Pros: - Great visuals and acting - Fun to throw enemies around with GRP ability Cons: - The melee focused combat is VERY boring. Each encounter boils down to 1-4 enemies charge at you, and then you 1v1 melee duel one of them while the others patiently wait their turn - Dodging. You dodge enemy attacks as long as you are holding the left stick either left or right. The side the enemy is attacking from does not matter, you will always dodge. For the most part this mechanic plays itself as you don't have to worry about timing, however sometimes it doesn't register correctly and the attack will hit you anyway (this is a bug and may be fixed in an update) - Guns are mainly used to prevent enemies from becoming stronger by shooting a parasite that pops out of "some" enemies after they take enough damage. Once this mechanic is introduced, 95% of enemies you encounter will have this parasite trait - There is one "boss" enemy who you encounter 4-5 times throughout the game (the game is only ~8-10 hours long) and it is a chore to get through every time. This fight is exactly the same each time, other than sometimes there are a couple other enemies that sprinkle in - The game is extremely linear, often-times you will go one way hoping it is a branching path to find optional story items/resources only to realize it is main story path after having a door shut behind you blocking you from going back - There are many instances where you will get hit by unavoidable damage. Mostly this is caused by grapple type moved which cannot be dodged or blocked. These come in the form of enemies you are fighting currently, enemies in lockers, "trap" enemies hitting you from across the map that give no indicator of being there before you get hit - Absolutely TERRIBLE checkpoint system. Often times if you die you will find yourself having to sell/trade/upgrade again since the checkpoint is always placed right as you walk into a room with a shop. Even if you manually save the game, it does not save anything that happened after the last checkpoint - I don't recall there being a photosensitivity warning at the start of the game, but there are a few areas with the most aggressive light flickering I have seen in any game Overall, really feel like this game had a lot of wasted potential

Graphics looks good but not as good as GOW. Will get bored with repetitive combats. Dead Space is much better.

The story is decent and its not cyberpunk 2077 at launch so thats good
