    Chilling Movie

Went to see The Conjuring 2 opening weekend at the theater because I am a huge horror fan and was really looking forward to the next installment in the series. While it may have made me jump but only a few times, it did give me chills. The Warrens do an awesome job as paranormal investigators and help a family that are having some trouble in their home. I don't want to give too much away, but this is a must see movie and the bonus content is cool. If possible watch The Conjuring beforehand in order to fully appreciate The Conjuring 2.

    Superior To The Original

I found this thriller far superior to the original "The Conjuring." In fact, it could be a standalone film, as only the characters of Ed & Lorraine Warren were recurring. The story was better-written, the scares didn't rely so much on typical "jump scares," and leaned more toward a psychological thriller versus a "horror" movie. In my opinion, psychological thrillers are much more powerful than a slice 'em and dice 'em gorefest, of which this film is the former. I would very much recommend this film over it's predecessor.

I like this series. It takes a different view to the typical Haunted/Possession films. There are stories within stories. You see the main characters lives and how they are effected by what they do in their "jobs" dealing with the paranormal. It's scary, but there's an intelligence to the plot so it isn't just 'jump scares' for no reason other than to get your blood pressure up. These movies are also based on real people and what they experienced so that ups the scare factor to my way of thinking. I liked the behind the scenes/make of interviews of the some of the family members who went through this and Lorraine Warren.

    Conjuring 2 surpassing its predecessor!

When I found out the sequel to "The Conjuring" was being made I just thought "meh" since most "horror" sequels do not work as we expect, they're just made for money purposes, ala "the first one was a major box office hit, so let's make another one to milk that cow one more time!" Well, this was not the case, for me it was better than the original. Sure things, there are some "scenes" that can be said are "redone" for the sequel but it's still original IMO. I really loved it.

    Solid throwback horror

Before horror movies descended into explicit gore and forgettable plots, there was a tradition of atmospheric, well made films that didn't rely on jump scares to make their audience uncomfortable. The Conjuring 2, must like its predecessor, is a throwback to those days. There are some jump scares and visual surprises but the atmosphere is what sets it apart. You actually feel dread when the plagued family in the film are being haunted. This allows the movie to retain its spookiness throughout. If you liked the first Conjuring or other old school horror flicks, give this one a try.

The Conjuring 2 is one of those rare beasts: a sequel that's as good, if not better, than the original. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson return as real-life paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren who head to England this time to look into that country's infamous Enfield haunting. Smart, scary and with an emotional core that most genre films ignore, the film is not only one of the best horror movies of the year, but also one of the best films of 2016, period.

The creep factor continues.... This was a very creep and imaginative retelling of a haunting investigated by the Warrens that took place in England during the seventies. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga have excellent chemistry and are exciting to watch. There are a lot of tense moments. The special effects add to the creepy factor. Director James Wan has found his niche in the horror movie genre. I recommend this film to fans of ghost stories and paranormal horror films. In sum, great cast, great scares and great pacing make this a great horror film.

    The Conjuring 2 Review

A rare thriller/horror sequel judged to be as good as or better than the first one. The film presents another chilly spine-tingling edge of your seat film that maintains a slow but very steady suspenseful pace to give you more to fear. Another superior job well done by Director James Wan and his tricks and trade of showing old school horror to our generation and keeping it fresh to fans of the first one. Still might have trouble sleeping tonight. Highly Recommended to those who enjoyed the first one. But DO NOT SEE IT ALONE. Grade: "A-"

After having watched the first movie I did wonder if they wouldmake a sequel or not. To my happy surprise, they did and loved it more than the first! How's that possible?! Sequels usually, suck! But this one didn't, it was even better than the first IMHO and many others. I would highly recommend this movie to any horror buff out there, it's not your typical gorefest. It's an actually well crafted horror-story-mystery with with great acting!

As Good As The First Conjuring, Maybe Even Better

After seeing and loving the Conjuring, I was anticipating great things for the sequel. And the Conjuring 2 did not disappoint. James Wan once again shows that he is one of the premiere genre directors by using atmosphere and Hitchcock styled suspense to propel this story. The actors are all on their a game and this makes for a fun horror story that I enjoyed even more than the first film. Highly recommended to all.

The Conjuring 2 follows the first and is given fresh eyes with a new location and a series of supernatural enemies that are varied and threatening. The acting is great all around and the scares are earned, the few jump scares are actually built up and stretched out with quiet and tension and results in a thriller movie without much of the way of gore. The story is loosely inspired by actual events, and the plot is truncated to fit conventions of a three-act narrative but all in all is a good scare.

The Insidious and Conjuring movies hold a special place in my heart. These movies are creepy. Okay, but would about the sequels? Insidious 2...yes, really good! Insidious 3...ehhh...it was all right. Now...Conjuring 2...it's not AS good as the 1st, but it's still good. Remember how creepy that hide and clap game was from the 1st movie? Okay, no scares come close to that, but they still have some good ideas in this one. Enjoy in the dark with the sound up high for a chilling experience :)

Horror sequels have the quite the reputation for being awful, but the Conjuring 2 defies all odds. The first Conjuring was amazing and I think that the Conjuring 2 was just as good, if not better. Some of the novelty from the first film has worn off, but it still managed to scare me. I haven't had a movie scare me like the Conjuring 2 in years. My movie arrived in great condition and on time.

I love Conjuring 2! While it is not as good as the first one, it is still a decent horror movie and it is based on a true story. Plus, I love watching the history of the Warrens coz I've seen Paranormal State so many times and Lorraine Warren helped the PRS from time to time with the cases. Since this is the bluray version, picture and sound quality are top notch! Get this movie on bluray!!!

I'm a big fan of Wan and his various paranormal movies in general but was pleasantly surprised at how fresh this movie felt. It really felt like something a little different than Paranormal Activity, Insidious, and even the first Conjuring. There is plenty of familiarity but also some decent changes of pace. The only real negative was just how bad the CGI was for the Stickman who had potential to be an extra terrifying addition. The poor CGI made it more of a distraction.

The lead actors, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are back and this investigation in England proves that this series will be around for some more investigations. I might not agree with the religious elements in these films, but, I definitely enjoy them on a strictly visceral level. The leads and supporting cast are excellent and you really care about [and fear for!] them.

Putting the stories of what Ed and Lorraine have been involved in like this is terrific! It helps to have read the Warrens books on accounts from "Amityville" and the many others. Nice they continued using the same two actors from the first Conjuring to portray Ed and Lorraine. The other actors were cast well. Of course the story itself makes you jump out of your seat!

There aren't many movies that scare me - but James Wan has a way of using practical effects that are really creepy. As soon as I put the disc in the player and the opening title music play I get goosebumps from memories of watching it the last time - that is very rare and is a nod to the director (and cast!) for doing an excellent job making this frightening movie.

Based on the "true story" of the Einfield Poltergeist. the Conjuring 2 is a great horror film from the fantastic horror director, James Wan. He brought us, Conjuring, Dead Silence, Insidious and Saw. His horror is very in your face and loud and this movie is no exception. If you like your horror to build and build to a massive crescendo, give this movie a go. Guaranteed to have some chills down your spine by the time the credits roll.
