I was never into role-playing games (I prefer shooters), but this game is truly the exception. I've been playing for over 200 hours, and even though there is a finite number of structured quests, the possibilities for characters and methods are really endless. Even just roaming around is fun :) the 360 also offers extra content to download, so check that out too. GREAT game. I can't wait for the next one to come out!

The character creation is wonderful. You play through a bit of the game to get a feel for all aspects then the game suggests a class. You can choose the suggested or pick your own. You then enter the world and are free to do whatever you want. Great game, super immersive, would prefer a better 3rd PoV, but still an awesome game with limitless possibilities.

I have had this game for almost two years and i still have fun playing it! It is probably my favorite game ever created. Me and my friends still play it all of the time and it never gets old! The downloadable content is also awsome and I suggest you get that too. This is worth every penny and I definatly suggest it to all players. It will never get old!

As a gamer who rarely ventures into the RPG world, I was swayed by the rave reviews of Oblivion. What I found inside was hours upon hours of fasincating gameplay and a story that rewrites the standard for the genre. You start off modestly, as a prisoner who is inadvertently introduced to a world of murder and intrigue. Travel the expansive universe picking up side quests and gain a reputation for yourself by joining guilds. There are hundreds of hours of gameplay available to you, and Oblivion only occasionally stumbles into the realm of repetiton. The rest is memorable and enjoyable. Take any path you choose to the ultimate finale---there are few time restrictions, allowing you to fully explore the medieval cities and the outlying, lawless townships and caves that always seem to hold secrets waiting to be discovered. Dozens of unique creatures, spells and weapons ensure that you won't be bored throughout your long journey. Even at its original price, Oblivion is worth a strong look from gamers of all persuasions.

This game will provide days and days of fun. There are so many quests in this game it could take you a complete year to beat them all. The story concept is one of the best ever released and the graphics are just stunning. Give this game a try and you will become an oblivion addict.

My wife and I bought this game when it came out an havent stopped playing it. We have at least 600 to 700 hours invested in this game.. If you are a fan of RPG this is a must have.. I love this game and cant wait for the 5th one. Rumor has it that it is suppose to be released in 2009

Okay, there are plenty of reviews here on this wonderful game, so I thought I would address the fence-sitters that havent bought it yet. Go on and buy it already!! It was worth the money at full price, now it is like finding treasure!! There are hours and hours of gameplay here. Enough to keep you busy for months and months to come. You will not get bored. Tired of spelunking in caves and slaying rats? Go off on a merry quest for potion ingredients and practice your alchemy mixing different potions. Try perpetrating different horrid "accidental" deaths for the adoring fan you get upon completion of the arena gladiator battles.. There is just so much to do here beyond the main quests. Once you get bored with all that several months from now, there are several download-able additions that add whole new areas and quests to the game and present other new challenges to you. It is the purchase that you really will get your money's worth out of, and then some.

Graphics can be better, but the gameplay is amazing!! You can do so many different things in this game.

This game is awesome. It is probably one of the best games on the 360. There are hours of gameplay so it can never get old. I recommend this product because its one of the few games that you can play all the time without getting tired of.

I really like playing this game, but I have this problem with needing to have money and completing achievements. Sometimes these two objectives pose a problem for each other. If you are going to play this game I would suggest going to the wikipedia page and researching glitches so that way you don't get caught in one. I can no longer complete the fighter's guild quests because I activated a glitch by killing a few trolls. The other thing that bothers me is the crime and punishment aspect of the game. If you commit a crime in one town, it is then automatically reported to the next town. I run faster than the fastest horses in the game, but somehow word of even petty theft can get to the other side of the continent before I can. The diversity of the game is quite amazing though. Overall it's a great game as long as oyu don't get stuck.

This is an absolute necessity if you have an x box 360 or a computer at that. I bought my 360 on the sole purpose of playing just oblivion. It is the best rpg so far and for a while, it is an absolute must buy, no kidding.

This game is good if you want to get revenge, or bring justice to people. This game is all about being decent, corrupted, or a hero. You can make choices that are very similar to everyday life. To steal, or not to steal. The weapons are great. The armor is stunning, and the time period is great. It feels as if you are in that time period. There are no flaws in the setting. This has to be one of my absolute favorite games. The game is just a little too hard overall, because you start on the downside of the hill, and pretty much stay that way, no matter how strong, fast, or intelligent you become. But, overall, people can eventually overcome the obstacles in the game. I personally, am Champion of Cyradel, Champion of the Arena, a night of the nine, A champion of the fighters guild, a level 30, etc. Those are some of the best, and hardest titles to get in the game. It took me awhile to get them, but it was well worth it. I most definantely recommend this game to someone.

First off, it's a great game. You can literally play the game for 2 hundred + hours and not even touch the main quest. It's fun to watch your character advance through the levels and get more powerful. They could improve the game by adding more variety with the voices. There are hundreds of characters, and just a few different voices. You'll recognize the arch-mages voice a dozen times from a dozen different characters. And they have the tendency to spoon feed you the quests. The quests definitely need to be more challenging. And the AI needs improving. Characters sometimes don't act or respond appropriately, and their dialogue can get repetitious fast. With that aside, it's still an incredible game and well worth playing.

This is, without a dought, the best game I've ever played. You can do pretty much anything you want to do. Tons of different areas to explore and quests to complete. This game is awesome.

You can basically go anywhere in the level. It is one enormous level which every door can be opened, but some you need keys. But, it is basically and unbelievable game.

With over 200 hours of game play, this game will keep you busy for a while. The story is great. The side quests are great. The role playing element is great. The extra content available on Xbox live is well worth the money and adds a lot to the game and will keep you playing even longer. Even after all of the other games that have come out for the 360 this is still one of the best and I still play this game even after I have bought newer games. This is not a game you will want to get rid of. If you like the real-time RPGs then this is an excellent game and I highly recommend it.

Oblivion is still one of the best looking games out there on any platform. Gameplay can be hard if you end up messing up your character creation. Which is really easy to do. Leveling up your character requires planning ahead and only raising the attributes that play to your character's strengths to avoid having a weak character. Not doing so can make the game incredibly difficult because as you level up, so do the enemies you encounter. When that happens, you just end up quitting and start over creating your character again because there's really nothing you can do at that point. I think this is why some people find the game difficult and end up never completing it, including myself. Reminds me of Grand Theft Auto. Who's finished that game? seriously.

One of the best games I have every played. The main storyline isn't too long, but the game itself is seemingly endless. Replay value is very high because you can create a new character and there are hundreds of race/class/birthsign combinations so each character can have a different set of skills and attributes. The guilds add more missions to do and a lot of cool perks. Overall I have probably spent more time playing this game than any other game I have every owned and none of my 3 characters have completed all of the missions. No boredum here.

this game is great ive been playing it for about a year and a half now, and ive just scratched my disk, but moving on, this game has great graphics with alot of different paths to choose, like instead of finishing the main quest first, you can go and do a variety of things with other storylines behind it. plus this game probably has the greatest DLC and add-ons that ive ever seen. ITs main storyline is unlike those of the many other games produced, its character have unique motives and schedules fortheir everyday life....it's awsome

I found that the graphics are wnting but with the amount of freedom and options and freedom you get in the game I realy can't complain. This is a great real-time roleplaying game. There are so many things and actual life decisions to make that each playthrough can be different especialy since you can choose different character classes and even make your own and since you decide how your character developes each playthrough with even the same character can be different. If you like RPG's this is a must buy.
