This game is just amazing! If you love games that give you a open range of adventure and abilities and to meet other players that enjoy the game, you will love this game. You don't have to play the other elder scrolls to understand the game. Just play and I'm sure you will be hooked!

    Great game but...

The gameplay, to me, is about the same as it was in the last installment. It is updated with fresh story lines and graphics and for this it is a great game. The servers at first had problems as new games do, they fixed them, and now it is reliable but I still don't understand fully why it "needs" to be an online game. There are a few dungeons that require multiple players and you can usually find a pick-up-group to do so but it doesn't add anything to the game in my opinion. If anything the constant respawning of enemies required by this constant influx of players detracts from the experience.

Awesome game. It's always online which works well, but is different than the usual elder scrolls game. You need an Xbox live subscription to play

This game looks good and is a lot of fun to play. If you enjoyed other Elder Scroll games definitely pick this up and even if you are new to the series this is still for you. Graphics look amazing and gameplay is very smooth. I was a little worried as I am used to these type of games on pc but it does work well with a controller. The only downside about this game is if you are trying to play with a friend. It is a little buggy to get teleported to friends and if you are not on the same exact quest and the same exact part of this quest it is pointless doing together. So as far as an MMORPG experience I don't really get the feeling of it. It is a great solo game and it does have a dungeon finder feature but I cannot comment on that as I have no used it yet. All and all a great game still some kinks to work out but I would imagine they will be fixed in time.

Good game, just not Elder Scrolls

I love the ES series. When this was announced years ago, I was optimistic. While the online portion is clean and laid out, this fails to hold the magic of Elder Scrolls in my opinion. This is a great game, just not worthy of the ES title. There's so much to do, and if you're an achievement hunter, you'll be stressed. About 10 hours in, I only got 2 achievements. This is a great time killer, just be prepared to spend more cash in game...

I loved oblivion and skyrim was ok. But the online in ESO is a little bit much. Its frustrating to try and pick a lock and if i fail and someone else is close by they can snatch it away from me. Also you need a million bucks to get a horse so you do alot of walking around. I found it to get a little boring a repetitive quickly. I havent even had to make or use potions or make and fix armor and weapons yet. just going here and there easily killing or having random online players run up and steal my kills. not super impressed

    Living Up To Expectations

Massive world, beautiful graphics, and definitely a game you can get wrapped up in for hours at a time. Certainly meets my expectations as an Elder Scrolls fan. While the multiplayer feature is a nice addition at times, it's inclusion/ incorporation has the feel of a last minute hail mary and an afterthought; sometimes being a small nuisance. Especially when the area chat feature automatically activates as you enter zones even after disabling it. Still a worthwhile investment for a fan of the series...

I have really enjoyed this game so far. Lots of hours spent already with what appears to be a TON more still to go. Great bang for your buck because there is a lot to do in this game and a great deal of replay value. If you like RPGs, like playing online with your friends or just some other online gamers then I'd highly recommend this one. On the other hand, if you want to be the anti-social, loan wolf, army of one type and just play by yourself, then it's easy enough to do that too. I think they did a good job blending the world and feel of the Elder Scrolls games with a MMO RPG. I have seen some hate being shown towards this game in other reviews but I don't agree with it. Do yourself a favor and give it a chance. I think you'll be glad you did.

I was a huge fan of Skyrim. Graphics are on par, if not better, than Skyrim. Game is very visually appealing. Im not to happy with the quest system though. 1 quest spawns anywhere from 2-6 additional tasks until you are finally able to turn it in for XP. Seems like leveling up is going to take awhile, unless your on the game 24/7 and dont have a life/job. I've heard complaints about waiting in queue to log on, but haven't had that experience here in Hawaii.

The best Elder Scrolls to date. The social aspect alone is worth the purchase. Just like the character classes in the game, it is so diverse. The story and game play are fantastic. Go and get this game.

I have only gotten to play this game for a few hours but every time I start to play it's hard to put it down. The graphics are great and it's got much of the gameplay similar to Skyrim. However, it does not have the solitary exploration but it is still super fun to play and other people will help you fight tougher enemies. There are thousands of quests, especially if you create a character on each of the three groups. Although the connection has been flaky so far, there has been significant improvement and is to be expected since this is one of the first MMORPGs on consoles. If you're an Elder Scrolls fan, a fantasy game fan, or just a general RPG fan, I strongly encourage you to buy this game.

I really thought I'd enjoy the muliplayer mode more, but it missed the boat with me. I felt other players got in the way and made it difficult to complete some missions. It was nice when playing with friends, but again, there seems to be no benefit to it. I enjoyed the single player elder scrolls games where I fought thoroughly and alone. LARGE world though, and decent graphics for how big the game it. It is fun.

A little glitchy as of July '15 seemingly more so with sketchy internet connection. Need to reset game, not system, occasionally. Busy game times leads to increase of frequency of load errors. Great Elder Scrolls compilation in a MMORPG. Good group and single play. Imbalanced in lesser crafting; enchanting, provisioning. If you've been waiting for a WOW- like console game, this looks to be it. Addicts beware.

There have been a lot of complaints surrounding ESO, but I am convinced that those complaining have not had the experience of the full game. The game is rich in landscape detail as is expected of the Elder Scrolls franchise. It offers a complex crafting system, quests for crafting, leveling, dungeons, public dungeons, rifts, and in PVP for those who like PVP and PVE.
