This game is a great survival horror title with many nail biting moments and it excels at making you feel vulnerable.

good game with great visuals, atmosphere and gameplay

if silent hill and res evil4 had a child it would be The Evil Within. it seems so familiar if you have played one or both games. it is not an easy game so be prepared to die a lot.it is a good game and worth a try. just don't be in a hurry. take your time.

The Evil Within is from the acclaimed director, Shinji Mikami, who is known for his work with the Resident Evil franchise. It delivers the scares with a tense, creepy, and disturbing atmosphere throughout. It is a difficult game at times, but not frustratingly so. There are a few instances that seem to require your death in order to figure out what to do. The checkpoints are a bit far apart, but with two exceptions they tend to be smartly placed. The mechanics are solid if not a little outdated and become second nature relatively quickly. The combat feels a little clunky and slow, but that helps engender that feeling of tension and danger. It's appropriate given the generally slow speed of the enemies and is similar to the Dead Space games in that regard. The graphics seem more at home on last gen consoles, but the art is well done and the enemies have a great level of detail when viewed up close and personal. The upgrade system is fine and there's suitable motivation to find more gel to get stronger. It's a roughly 16-20 hour experience and well worth your money if you don't mind feeling tense the entire time.

Haven't played the game yet but couldn't pass it up for $19.99. Not sure why the preowned versions are $10 more.

I've only got through the first few chapters but the game seems great. Good scares, creepy, and really a throwback to the old RE1 days. The only complaint I have is the game display ratio is in letterbox format. So if black bars at the top and bottom of the screen bother you, it might be a good idea to rent instead.

I was really excited waiting for this game. Though as I progress into the game, I notice it a lot to be a stealth game not trying to get one shot by random monsters. Overall though it does have some fright and a lot of gore. So if you are looking to have some fund with monsters and a mind twisting game, pick it up.

Not to sure about this one, the son likes it, but maybe just a touch to graphic for me, but overall a good game!

Would've had no problem rating this 5 stars had it not been for those pesky widescreen black bars. But the trick for that is to put the game in and don't play anything else for days....you don't notice them as much that way! Gameplay is very addictive and there are some very freaky creatures to say the least.

I thought outlast was a freaking pain on my nerves, but this one seems to deliver worse bed it is also a lengthy story. Graphics are OK in PS4, but not the best I have seen. Character is funny at times

We got a group together to do a broadcast on PS4 of us playing the game and there were quite a few screams thrown in there. Lots of jump scares and I found the pacing to be totally worth a playthrough.

This game is very gory and really strange even for a horror genre game.

Really enjoying this game. Although it's very similar to Resident Evil, there are enough scares and creepy monsters to keep it fresh. I've been playing on casual (easy) and it's still pretty difficult to get through each chapter. I appreciate that it's not a short game so I feel I got my money's worth.

Super scary but super fun!!! Limited resources can make it difficult but if you stay disciplined and calm in the face of danger, you will prevail! The story is a little vague and shallow but the scare factor makes up for what the story lacks. Definitely one of the best horror survival games of 2014.

Really enjoyed this to the point I bought the season pass. Little clunky at times but it is playable.

Cool game but I don't care much for the controls and response feel...

Not for the squeamish. Lots a blood and gore to keep even the most elite horror fans entertained. Definitely not for kids, not even a little bit. This game is a guaranteed nightmare factory.

From the creator of the Resident Evil series, comes The Evil Within. And just like Resident Evil, this is a game wherr you will die a lot and have limited ammo. The atmosphere is very tense and nerve wrecking as you dont know what will come out the next corner. The music and ambiance adds to the frightening mood. Some of the puzzles require some serious use of brain power but you should be able to solve most of them without any serious problems.

This game is great. Very nice job. The story is so confusing but awesome. Nice graphics and creepy bosses

This is a great game for those Resident Evil fans, or people who have never heard of or never had the chance to play any of the earlier Resident Evil games. If you want to find out what all the fuss is about, get this game. Great game to hold you over until the holiday season is in full swing with new releases. There is a difficulty here, I would recommend playing on casual for the first play through and read the manual while the game installs.
