I went against the reviews and bought this game anyway, while im not totally disappointed in this purchase, i do see why the "meh" ratings/scores.. It is a good play and worth the 15-20 bucks for sure, which is what i paid($17). A few good moments where my voice put out a high pitched noise or two LOL...id advise watching some youtube videos of people playing to see if you are okay with the awkward control and camera movements

A good game that was in development for some time. Only problem with the on PC versions is some pain in the rear framing elements.

The game is a good horror game. With some spooky parts that will have you up! Ready to turn your lights on and sleep with a teddy bear.

I read and heard people saying that the game isn't getting in tuned for being scary but I say it is. Once your in a room with the lights out, headphones on, and no one is around the atmosphere playing it that way makes you jumpy.

I'm a huge die hard Resident Evil Fan and I also like playing some Silent Hill games. This is a new horror survival game that needed to prove itself and did with an amazing gameplay and of course, scaring the c**p out of you! If you love horror survival games, your gonna love this game! Back to basics and a lot of cool new things to add! Buy it and be prepared to panic in the dark!! Enjoy this great survival horror game!!

blood, ghost, psycho, everything I can think of as a horror game could have. The graphic is very good, the story is ok. The difficulty setting is good and not very easy in my opinion, even you choose easy difficulty.

A valiant effort from the guy who invented the survival horror genera but the game takes some serious back steps from what made his earlier masterpieces so great. +Interesting story and world -clunky, awkward, slow controls +excellent graphics and sound design -was hoping to see a glimpse of RE4 brilliance but never came to fruition

The Evil Within is in many ways a spiritual successor to Resident Evil 4, but misses a few marks along the way. Technically, the frame rate is not the most stable. Story-wise, there's a lot of silliness and dialog could've been better. Whereas the Resident Evil games really managed to cross over to more mainstream audiences, I would say Evil Within is probably best left to fans of the horror genre.

Pretty good horror game! First time I played it I got my head chopped off! If you want a good horror game, look no further.

This game is an EXCELLENT game. Action is spectacular. Very fun game to play. I can spend HOURS AND HOURS playing this. I would recommend this game to any person who enjoys shooter games. You will NOT be disappointed.

The atmosphere in this game is so amazing. I would say if you enjoyed playing The Last of Us Remastered then you will enjoy the similarities in this game, especially the stealth aspect. Horror movies stopped being scary a long time ago since it's all pre determined but in this game which you are in control of the story moving forward you get the feeling of actual fear, the fear of the unknown and dying. This can be a challenging game so be prepared to die often even if you are an experienced gamer.

Game is very challenging, but addicting. Dark, scary aesthetic throughout. Very well done. Not for the faint of heart

I recommend this to any player looking for a challenge. This game is harder than most survival games because it doesn't rely on a lot of ammo for your weapons. Not for everyone but definitely challenging.

I bought this game because I loved RE4 and wanted more like it. What I didn't remember was how old and antiquated the RE4 controls were. This game looks good but plays like an old game. I was hoping it would have had better controls. I didn't get that far into the game before I quit. Not what I was hoping it would be.

This game is fun and has some really awesome graphics. Very reminiscent of silent hill and early resident evil games

Don't expect current gen graphics on this one but the gameplay is great. By far the scariest game I've ever played.

From the creators of the original Resident Evil and it shows. Any fan of the early RE games will enjoy this one.

I love to hate this game. It's great and fun but not easy by any means which keeps me coming back for more.

I went into this basically blind, and only having watched a gamplay video or two. I had never played Resident Evil 4, but I am a big fan of Silent hill so this seemed to be a game that might scratch that survival horror itch. Well, it does. It's pretty fun, except it's also a bit crazy. The stages have virtually nothing to do with each other, and the plot is pretty much up in the air at this point. I still haven't completed the game but it's keeping my interest. It's got some horrible voice acting, it's got some horrible (in a good way) looking monsters, and it's got some amazing set pieces. It's not an immediate 5 star game, but it felt like a solid 3.5. They don't let you do half star reviews though, so I opted for 4. It's stealth play, it's got run and gun sections, and it's got some seriously spooky ambiance. It's also got some complete BS moments of pure frustration, but it all comes together to be an interesting game. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a horror game. It's got some bad points, but it also has some fun stuff too.
