IThe 1973 film "The Exorcist" is a true classic that has stood the test of time. The movie is a masterpiece of horror that has been terrifying audiences for nearly 50 years. The story of a young girl possessed by a demon and the efforts of two priests to save her soul is a gripping tale that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
But what really sets this release apart is the new 4K transfer. The picture quality is simply stunning, with incredible detail and clarity that brings the film to life like never before. The colors are rich and vibrant, and the contrast is perfect, making every scene look like it was shot yesterday. The sound quality is also excellent, with a new 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track that immerses you in the action and makes you feel like you're right there in the room with the characters.
And let's not forget about the packaging. The steelbook is a thing of beauty, with gorgeous artwork that captures the mood and tone of the film perfectly. The embossed lettering and metallic finish give it a premium feel that is sure to impress any horror fan.
Overall, I would highly recommend this release to anyone who loves horror movies or appreciates great filmmaking. The Exorcist is a true classic that deserves to be seen in the best possible quality, and this 4K steelbook release delivers in spades.

Hands down, bolted to the floor, the best horror has been and may ever be, still. As for the transfer: superb. I did not notice and added digital, this looks all true to the original - including some lower quality camera work. For me, I will choose and prefer this every time. Give me the old grain and choices the director made - it is the art form preserved. Absolutely must own version. STEELBOOK is fine, WB sucks the big one with every steel they’ve done this year… what can we do?

One of the best horror flicks in all of Film/Cinema!!
1. The Steelbook case is a well built and detailed within it's classic style!
2. The Extended Director's Cut in all its 4K glory has breathed new life into this film for anyone re-watching again & for someone who has never experienced this movie before it will hit even harder!!
3. The inclusion for The Original Theatrical Version is just a bonus cherry on top of the whipping cream!
A must own for any Exorcist fan out there!.

Absolutely LOVE this 4k steelbook of The Exorcist!!!!! I'm a little disappointed with the inner artwork (I would've preferred the spider-crawl scene personally), but I'm IN LOVE with the outer artwork (especially the front)!!! Can't wait to see how this looks in 4K!!!!!

Great 4k transfer and a super updated Atmos 7.1 track ... this is a 4k upgrade that is reference grade and I would compare it to Jaws 4k and the original Halloween 4k in picture/ dound quality.

Excellent exclusive. It makes me happy but sad I got it, given physical releases of films and TV are going away. I hope I won’t the gift card so I can spend it all on physical media.

Nice looking Steelbook (though the UK version with the original movie poster image looks better) and the movie looks top notch.

"The Exorcist" is a horror film that leaves an indelible impression on the viewer. It's a deeply disturbing movie, and not just because of the unsettling and graphic images that make up its key moments of terror. "The Exorcist" is a movie that delves into the idea of true evil and the concept of faith being tested.
The plot revolves around a young girl named Regan who suffers from a mysterious illness. After exhausting all medical options, her mother turns to the church for help. What follows is a battle between good and evil that plays out through the possession of Regan's body.
The movie's themes and tone are intense and thought-provoking. It ponders the ideas of faith, good vs. evil and the possibility of possession by the devil. Through its entire running time, "The Exorcist" builds up the tension steadily until the final exorcism scene.
The acting is absolutely superb, especially by Linda Blair, who delivers a performance that feels unbelievably real. There's no doubt that William Friedkin's direction also plays a significant role in how well this film and its characters are portrayed.
The film's score is also top-notch, reinforcing the tone of the movie and sets an intense and foreboding atmosphere, adding to the film's already eerie feel.
Cinematography and special effects, while ground-breaking for its time, may not be as impressive by today's standards. However, they are still effective in creating an unnerving and unsettling atmosphere.
Overall, "The Exorcist" remains a benchmark for horror films and few movies have managed to match the brooding intensity this movie has in its entire feature length. It's a brilliant and darkly gripping film that leaves a lasting impression on viewers.

Once deemed “the scariest film of all time,” I hope this motion picture stands the test of time but I think a younger audience has been desensitized to this type of story. It’s not bombastic enough. It’s a slow burn psychological attack. From my point of view this movie holds true but it is of its time. Expect to laugh at the wrong time, but the acting is top notch. It’s the Jaws of demonic possession movies; there are so many but none come close to this one

An old classic I grew up that will never get old.I do have the Blu ray steelbook but I had to have the 4K too. …the collector mentality in me.I watch this on a Panasonic 4K player and Samsung 4K TV.Very crisp colors in the right lighting and the black isn’t washed out.The sound is fine considering it’s 50 years old .I’m using a JBL soundbar with wireless sub.

Warner Bros. unwisely chose to make this a 4K only release, meaning there are no Blu-Ray copies included. Thus, aside from the commentaries, any supplements from previous Blu-Ray releases have instead been relegated to digital extras when you redeem the codes on Movies Anywhere.
The 4K discs themselves include both the 1973 Theatrical Version of the film and the 2000 Version You've Never Seen director's cut. Only the first film is worth watching, some of the editorial choices on the director's cut end up weakening the film, IMO.
