I'm only on season 2 of the 3 seasons they offer on DVD. Enjoying the series very much. Highly recommend if you enjoy history.

This is a great historically based series taken from the fine novels written by Bernard Cornwell. The characters are very interesting people. I would recommend this series to those who enjoy Vikings or the Game of Thrones, however keeping in mind that it is somewhat less violent and graphic in its presentation of "adult behavior". However there is still plenty of "action". This series has fine acting, writing, and reasonably high production values (maybe not to the same scale as GOT). It comes across as your typical high quality BBC style production. Also keep in mind that it has some real historical basis (with the usual dramatic license taken here and there). My only problem is the this bluray production of the series is generally good in the daylight scenes, but has a halo effect in several of the night shots. If not for this problem I would have rated this product as 5 stars. Still its a great series with characters that will pull you in.

I really liked this DVD! I saw the Outlander which is great and needed a fix after that. Something that has more than 1 season. Didn't like watching so much killing but that's all part of the way it was. Liked the story line......must of loved it because I bought all four DVD's for future use!

This series, unknown to me before I bought Season 1, was incredibly interesting in that the period in early English history was largely unknown to me despite my background in English History. The series was very well done, the actors believable in their roles and the action scenes exciting. That was the main reason for continuing with Season 2.

This series is based on several enjoyable novels written by Bernard Cornwell. The BBC productions of the novels are of a very high quality in the area of historical setting. It is well written with interesting characters (some of which were actual historical figures). This is an involving story which in general is well filmed (it has some issues in several night sequences... there are reviews out there which address/review the technical aspects of this particular blu ray better than I could). I look forward to the release of the 3rd season next year (I assume it will be renewed).

This series is very watchable and nearly addicting. It is like a cross between Vikings and Game of Thrones only without as much graphic violence or bizarre behavior. I checked and it actually has some historical footing. I find it thoroughly entertaining.

The second series picks up right where the first left off. We are introduced to new characters along with new story plots. If you love the Vikings you will love this as well because it is unique in its own way. Also Wonderful Music Score and Soundtrack.

I just found out the second season was out and picked it up right away. I enjoyed the first season and didn't know there was even going to be a second. Bought to watch at my binge convenience.

I have been WAITING!!! If finally came out. Wasn't available in stores so I had to order it online. Came in sooner than expected. I absolutely love this series!

Captivating series, I could not walk away from this fascinating story and finished it in a matter of 2 days!

Exciting new season. Great character stories. Wonderful costumes as well.
