Okay, so the game isn't actually 100% perfect. But it's pretty close if I do say so myself. There's a few different stances I could take on reviewing this game, but I'm going to take one different from most people.
I could talk about the story, as it is easily the shining star of games. But everybody talks about the story. Just go into this game knowing that it is the most gut wrenching, heart throbbing, touching, wonderful story that you will ever experience in your life. But what really makes this game for me is the little things. When you walk up/down stairs, your characters movements change to look like he's actually walking up stairs. When you walk by other people, the characters actually say convincing dialogue and interact with each other. When you shine your flashlight onto another person, they'll actually cover their eyes. It's awesome. That's what makes this game, is the immersion. This game is brutal. And you feel it. When Joel is defending himself, he'll smash someone's head in, or slam them against the wall. You feel the despair that he feels. You feel the hopelessness, and the extreme actions that you have to take to protect yourself, and Ellie. You know that if you make one wrong move, you won't make it. I know it's just a game, and that you'll just respawn, but that's what is so amazing about this game. It completely sucks you in. You see just how gritty, and dark, and cold that the world is, and you're just doing what you can to try and make the difference.

As stated above, hands down it is the greatest Game I've ever played on Playstation. I'm a pretty hardcore gamer and work in the industry. The story to this game will make you smile, cry, swear, jump, and fall in love with Naughty Dog (the maker). It is exceptional and unforgettable. You will want to play it from beginning to end and most likely a few times through. This game is what converted my hardcore xbox-loving brother to Playstation. And he'll never go back lol. I play all consoles, and to this day I can still say after playing games my whole life, nothing beats The Last of Us. The graphics, gameplay, mechanics, audio, story, and multiplayer will completely change your video game standards if you have played as many games as I. It's a game that every playstation owner should have in their collection. I bought this copy as a second copy in case my original copy ever fails me. I started playing the game on ps3 2 or 3 years ago, and moved on to the ps4. I've played the multiplayer almost everynight for a year. Get this game while you can. It will probably change your gaming life. The only con I can say is, Naughty Dog needs to add more map packs as add-ons for multiplayer and they need to improve the box colliders around the objects so you aren't getting shot while behind cover. Sometimes bullets come through walls when they shouldn't be.

I had been wanting to play this for a long time and finally decided to pick it up. It took me a while to get into it but that’s mostly because it had been a while since I had played a game from an unfamiliar franchise. By the end, I didn’t want to stop playing and immediately ordered part II

This is the most mind blowing game of the year!! A must play, if you haven’t then this has to be your next purchase! These series have such a graphical realistic game play!!!
This was a hot deal at Best Buy, my go to store for all my gaming needs! everything I need is always in stock.

TLOU is one of the most acclaimed games of all time. Does it deserve it? Yes... and no. I personally think the story certainly deserves all the praise it gets. It excels in having characters that we might not like, but can sympathize with at the same time. The suspense is always high, and you never know who you can trust.
HOWEVER, with all the praise this game gets, I will admit that I was expecting the gameplay to be a BIT better and more involved. There are no technical issues to speak of: the PS4 version runs superbly, and this game makes the PS3 version obsolete. It's just that the mechanics in TLOU are a bit simpler than most action/adventure games like Uncharted. But it works as it should, and is still fun. Just know that the story takes the center stage of this game, not the gameplay.
This is especially true for TLOU: Left Behind, the DLC included with the PS4 version. I was actually slightly disappointed with the lack of gameplay in this DLC, but again the story and interactions kept me playing to the end.
The Last of Us, whichever system you get it for, in my opinion has the greatest story in any game, and the ending of The Last of Us will never be topped. Play it if you can.

I was late to the party with this game, and it has since been remastered yet again. The price was right, and I was able to snag it on sale for $10. The graphics are great, and the story is phenomenal, as shown in the television series. But at its core, it's a mediocre stealth / cover shooter that doesn't really hold up in present day. It's an essential part of the PlayStation library and should be experience, but your best bet is to go for the PS5 remaster.

I finally got to play this after getting a Playstation 4 Pro recently. I am/was a Xbox owner for some time and hadn't had a Playstation since Playstation 2 so I am going back and playing some of the excellent games that I had missed. This being one of them!
Naughty Dog, who also makes the Uncharted series, has done it again with this fantastic game. I am not sure how the original looked but the remastered version looks great. Controls are pretty solid but could use some more tweaking/changes to make it perfect. Also, like with all their games the story is top notch and this is coming from someone who rarely cares about a games story. I thought this was going to be a Uncharted clone in how the game is structured but it is different than I expected. The added a few more RPG like elements such as crafting and player upgrades.
I am almost halfway through the game and I am really enjoying it. I think it may start to drag towards the end since I don't see it getting much more varied in terms of combat and such but I am looking forward to see how the rest of the story unfolds.
I can't see much replay value but at the cheap price it is at now it is well worth at least one play through.

After playing for an hour, the game holds up after being scaled up from the PS3. The controls are intuitive and easy to learn. Easy purchase whenever it drops below $20.

If you're looking at this, you know The Last Of Us. I lost my PS3 and purchased a PS4 not too long ago, and this was one of the first games that I felt upset losing. Even over my 3 playthroughs and time put into multiplayer (for someone who doesn't typically like multiplayer, it was a great deal), I was bummed knowing I wouldn't be able to play this game again for a good while.
As soon as the Remastered edition was announced, I traded in all my PS3 games and ordered it ASAP, and by Joe does it not disappoint. It's actually really fun just to swap back and forth between 30 and 60fps to see how big of a difference it makes, and it's HUGE. The game feels (and looks) much smoother overall. I booted into a multiplayer match my first time just to see how it looked gameplay-wise, and was blown away by how responsive everything had become, and was surprised by how much I liked using the new and wonderful triggers on the Dualshock 4 compared to the older controllers.
Overall: if you're a die hard fan of the game like myself, you're going to want this. If you played it once and didn't feel compelled to go again, or just didn't have the interest don't bother, this won't change your mind. But I imagine my playthroughs will go from 3 to 8 or more now, especially under the Grounded difficulty.

I played the Last Of Us and from start to finish and was impressed with the gameplay and the story. Most game companies don't invest this much in the story but this game had movie like story elements that drive the player to continue playing.
The graphics are great but I would say they are the new norm for AAA games these days.
The music is eerie and sets a great atmosphere. One thing that gives the age of this game away is the fact that you can't jump. I found that odd in this day and age but it isn't 100% necessary. You can jump/ hurdle over objects in your way but that's it.
I spent about 30 hours on my play through and felt like the games is totally worth the price. I paid $10 for it when it went on sale. Wanted to get this in before playing the new one.
Great game even if it were full price. I hear the new one is just as good. Definitely play this on PS4 before the new generation of consoles come out.

If you've played the PS3 version, then there's not much extra to gain here besides the single player DLC and some extra MP stuff. However, the framerate improvement makes the game even more enjoyable. This was one of my favorite PS3 games, so I was more than eager to pick it up again; however, I can see how the upgrade won't justify the price for most people.

Just rebought this in anticipation of the second game. Sadly the second game ended up being terribly. This one however was amazing. Excellent writing, gameplay is a bit generic, but overall an excellent game. Had it on ps3, played through and loved it on ps4 again.
