It is incredible how open world games which are so complex can be made so user friendly and feel so simple. It may not have photorealistic graphics, but that doesn’t stop it from being stunning. It looks like a painting. Also, it feels real and you will want to explore more. PS. The main character is NOT Zelda. Non fans need to know that. His name is Link. Zelda is the princess. Just to save you bad looks you’ll get if you get the two confused.

Breath of the Wild is excellent, let's get that out of the way. It's an incredible departure from the usual 'formula' that has propped up past Zelda titles. It's not exactly beginner friendly, however. The game guides you fairly well but leaves much of the game for you to figure out and explore on your own. Certainly not a negative but may be tougher for brand new gamers. Highly recommended as BotW is a lush, beautiful game with an incredible sound design and amazing gameplay.

This game is incredible, completely unexpected. The packaging is simple, it doesn't include any manuals. The game is a huge open world, that seems to never end. There are many territories to explore and quests to achieve. However, the start of the game is quite slow given the learning curve. Within a few hours it gets really interesting and fun. A great game for a good console/handheld.

This game is unbelievable. Easily the best Zelda game ever made. The open world and player agency really gives the series the refresh it needed. If you have not played any of the Zeldas before, this is the one to try. Heck, even having friends over and having them play is still a blast.
Performance is rocky, which is pretty disappointing for a Nintendo game but not terrible enough for it to bother me. The frame drops may be pretty annoying to others so be sure to do some research!

Open worlds bore me. Unfortunately, this mold has become mainstay, and beloved series like Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid have fallen prey to it, compromising their core narratives in the process.
In short, BotW is the perfect game experience. It all unfolds at such a natural tease that one is constantly finding new gameplay elements, secrets and hidden pieces of lore.
Everything from the writing to the world design and combat is an absolute blast.
Good job, Nintendo!

I haven’t finished it yet, but this is the longest I’ve played a Zelda game since Link’s Awakening. The game borrows from the Ubisoft formula of unlocking towers to reveal parts of the map, but it works very well. The game also made realize how much I expect games to hold our hands nowadays. BotW explains a few things to you, but you are mostly on your own like old school games. I highly recommend it.

Do yourself a favor and savor it, don't rush the experience. There's so many ways to go about this adventure that it's best served with taking it all in at your own pace and enjoying it every step of the way. It's nearly flawless, aside from the fact that weapons break constantly, but there's never a shortage of pickups. Be advised that this game will absolutely CHEW through your Switch battery if playing mobile, however, and plan ahead.

I loved this game because you can log HOURS into it. I love a game that can keep me entertained hours on end. If you like Skyrim (which is a way more expansive game though) you will love this one. I am about to replay the game with the expansion pack soon and from all my friends have told me is the expansion pack is awesome. Really really would recommend this game. It does not get boring quickly.

There's a reason that this game has received universal critical acclaim.
After playing it, I can say that this is one of the greatest games of all time. Nintendo manages to elicit the powerful nostalgia of great Zelda games from the past and still add new and exciting features that make the game better.
If you are a Zelda fan, an RPG fan, or just a gaming fan, you will love it.

I've been gaming for 2 years shy of my entire life (I'm 37). Breath of the Wild is by far one of the GREATEST games I've EVER played. If you own a Switch, do yourself a favour, BUY this game and TAKE YOUR TIME with it. If you're a Zelda fan, EVEN BETTER!!!

To be clear the only reason I purchased a switch was so that I can play this Zelda game. As every other game Zelda continues to take it to the next level. I hope they release all of the classics on the switch I have played every single game and it's great to see the progress both in story and animation of course nintendo isn't at the level of xbox or playstation but they know how to make a fun product.

The graphics are really nice. And it's Zelda! However, I'm not in love with the controls most especially the view of the character when running im certain terrain... it can be hard to see footing and location of enemy... which shouldn't be. That's why i took a star away.
