Customers frequently mention the engaging gameplay and charming art style as major highlights of "The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom". The story and puzzle-solving elements also receive praise, with many finding them enjoyable and well-designed. However, some players have noted performance issues, including frame rate drops and a somewhat cumbersome menu system. Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall reception appears positive.

Another fine edition to the universe
||Posted . Here's a game that actually plays for its namesake as the titular Princess Zelda (that's right, the guy's name is actually Link). This title features a conjuring mechanic where your wand can create learned items to aid you in your quest--a stool to hop up to higher heights is a basic example. It'll hold your attention to the end and you'll want to keep it to play it again.

Fun to play
||Posted . It’s rich in color and details. The musical score is some of the best ever offered. The game play is mostly linear meaning you’re directed to achieve goals in a certain order. Although this absolutely doesn’t mean you are not free to explore the land of Hyrule as you please. It just means you have to accomplish set goals to open new areas of the giant map. Some of the goals are met by solving puzzles and dungeons, some of which can be perplexing but all can be solved through trial and error. Most importantly, Echoes of Wisdom is really fun to play.

The Tri-force is still with us!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another great Zelda game. Yes, 2D but this game has an over-world almost 10x the size Links Awakening! Elements from other past Zelda games clearly installed in this new game. Great play action. Not too bad frame rate considering age of Switch system circa 2017. Great last Zelda game for Switch before Nintendo releases Switch 2 perhaps in 2025. If you are a Zelda game fan then get this game.

Echos of Wisdom, best top down Zelda since Minish.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Put off getting this for a very long time. Had a ton of fun. Its like a classic zelda game with top down view and dungeons. Its also got a great twist with the summoning of enemies and objects to fight and maneuver around the map. Its also very vertical for a top down zelda game and playing as Zelda added another fun little change.

Incredible fun.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the most fun I've had playing a video game in 10 years. Not frustratingly difficult but not overly breezy either.

Echoes of Wisdom: A return to traditional Zelda
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Criticism of this game refer to it as “Tears of the Kingdom lite.” There are quite a few similarities, but this game stands on its own. Puzzles are fun to solve, solutions are plentiful, and the game just begs you to “break” the world. Traditional dungeons are back, along with “rifts” which are mini dungeons that are perfect for the handheld aspect of the Switch. Controls are tight and intuitive, and the game works well in handheld mode. Additionally, it’s the first game you can actually play as the titular Princess (we don’t count those CD-i games). Strongly recommended for now or as a gift for the holiday season.

Echoes of Wisdom - Original Nintendo Switch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Still haven’t finished the game yet. I love the art style (polarizing topic apparently). Sometimes the original switch lags and the frame rate gets weird. Nintendo could have made the conjuring of items/ monsters a bit more streamlined. Otherwise no complaints. Still getting through the story.

||Posted . I’m loving the gameplay as it involves a lot of puzzle solving and there are multiple ways to solve it

So much better than expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is such a joy. I had serious doubts about the lack of sword slashing in this one, but the overall mechanics are really well done. The characters and world map were both nostalgic yet new, so I really enjoyed feeling that same excitement I felt with my first Zelda games so many years ago.

Fresh Approach To A Classic
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a diehard Zelda fan. I wasn't as excited for this game as I was for TOTK, but I broke down and bought it the day after it came out. It's an awesome Zelda game with a very different approach that I think holds true to the classic games. The easiest way to describe it is if they took the Link's Awakening remake game engine and made a BOTW style map with TOTK mechanics. SPOILER: you DO get to play as Link at times (which is my favorite part). Overall I'd say it's a worthy addition to the Zelda series with a very fresh approach to a classic game. There's also some pretty cool lore that addresses topics almost any Zelda fan has probably thought about before.

Like Zelda meets Stormlight Archive!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this game. Zelda as a playable character was fresh for a mainline Zelda game, but it was the echoes abilities that did it for me. This game was like Zelda meets Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive series. Tri is basically a spren, lending itself to be formed into all sorts of weapons to get past dungeons, bosses, enemies, and puzzles. Abilities improve as you level up, too. The Rifts were like Shadesmar to a certain extent, and the main big bad, Null, was similar in personality and actions to Odium. I know this game isn’t for everyone, but it checked all the boxes (and then some) for me! I will definitely replay it in the future!

Great new entry into a classic series
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Haven’t actually finished the game yet but it’s really cute. It’s in the style and obviously using the same game engine as the remake of Links’s Awakening for the switch. It’s great that they released this because TotK in my opinion wasn’t as good as I had hoped. I would rather have one of these games every year or two than go 6+ years between titles. I’ve owned pretty much every Zelda title since the gold cartridge on NES and this one has great throwbacks to so many of the classics. The new mechanics are also a lot of fun.
