Fun and inventive, and combat is far more engaging that I thought it would be. Puzzles are interesting, although due to their freeform nature, they can easily be cheesed from time to time, would like to see tighter puzzle construction and more in-depth dungeons in the future, along the lines of the dungeon that had you following the energy channels to heat the entrance to the boss. As it is, many of the dungeons felt like several disconnected, individual puzzle rooms, instead of a larger giant puzzle box like classic dungeons as the Ancient Cistern or Snowpeak Ruins. Still though, overall a wonderful, charming, and inventive game, and I would love to see this style of Zelda gameplay expanded in the future.

I don't know how they do it, but the Zelda games never get stale. This time they've done what fans have been asking for for years - a chance to play as Zelda instead of Link. And they nailed it. Gameplay is unique for Zelda, borrowing elements from Tears of the Kingdom. The art style is gorgeous, and Zelda is adorable. They've built on the Link's Awakening remake engine very well. Can't recommend this enough.

this game is absolutely Amazing, from the art style to gameplay. the story was although formulaic to the Zelda franchice it still felt fresh. the gameplay is a great twist to the Top Down Zelda games. the ability to move in 3D whilst being top down is crazy. anyone can pick this game up and have a good time, even if they have never played a Zelda game

Great game! A great return to 2D Zelda games. And the first playable (mainline) Zelda!
Unfortunately, it seems like it might have been designed for the Switch's successor and downgraded to release on the Switch. Frequent framerate drops don't affect gameplay too much, but really brings down the atmosphere that the Link's Awakening style pioneered.

i loved all the puzzles in this game! they emrace "gamer instinct" of breaking the rules and "what if i did this" and breaking boundaries on linearity. the MUSIC! and the final dungeon was the most fun ive had in a final dungeon in years. SO MUCH FUN! usually i give my zelda games to my brother when im done but im keeping this one for replaying in the future!

Legend of Zelda: Exhoes of Wisdom looks like any other Zelda game in the series, yet stands on it's own with main function which os finally, you gwt to play her majest, Princess Zelda. She teams up with Tri, who is the first companion in a Zelda game we have seen since before Breath of Th Wild. Making echoes with Tri can take a little time to adjust to. Most games, you'll want to go figh characters head on, but in this game you have to be bit mor strategic. You'll find yourself evading many enemies which adds a bit of difficult to the beginning. It can be tedius at times but the number of echoes is very impressive. These echoes make for somw great problem solving. The puzzles can sometimes stop you in your yracks and make you have to think hard about all your abilities and what you're abke to do. Echoes of Wisdom does a good job of feeling like a Zelda game in the post Breath of the Wold Zelda landscape. The menu system will look very familiar to people who have player BotW and TotK.
The graphical style is the same cute toy like esthetic from Links Awakening which I have alsways thought was a good look for the series. The game will suffer from frame rate hiccups like Awakening, but not nearly as bad. I got the game, day 1 and the hiccups initially were starting to bother me, but since then there has several updates and the hiccups are barely noticeable now.
The Story has a similar vibe to a lot of Zeldas ie: Link to the Past and Twilight Princess. Where there is some alternative world to explore, but this one changes it up a little bit. There are Rifts scattered through out Hyrule that you will often have to find a entrance to and then go inside and find some of Tri's friends. This part of the game makes Zelda feel like a platformer at times as you will use many of your eschoes to reach spots that you can't just jump to.
The Dungeons are back and the themes are strong in them unlike BotW and TotK. It feels like a very good return to form for thr series. The Temples are much more then what TotK were like too. More then just going along a collecting 5 items to unlock the boss.
This is the longest review I have ever written, but overall I had a really good time playing this game. There is a lot of great characters and good story arcs with each area you go to. Lastly, the music is very good. The main theme is nice, but once you get into Gerudo Desert or Jabul Waters, you'll find yourself humming it later on when you're making dinner or doing laundry. Definitely don't skip out on this one!

While gameplay is very reminiscent of classic top-down Zelda, the new features make for an interesting change of pace. Puzzles and combat are more open ended giving you more ways to solve and fight.

Zelda finally gets her own adventure and it’s a lot of fun. The traditional 2D Zelda formula is as timeless as ever and the new Echoes gimmick is simple but it also leads to so many possibilities for exploration, puzzle solving, and combat. It’s also aesthically pleasing to look at and there’s a good amount of content for completionists. Overall, it’s a fun game that anyone should play.

This game is amazing. All the negative reviews are for Best Buy not giving their customers the pre-order bonus. It's a shame they couldn't vent their frustration elsewhere because the game itself deserves nothing but 5 stars. Fantastic mechanics, fun character art, great music, great story. All the things we like about the old Zelda titles but plenty of new things to feel like a fresh breath of air.

What a great little game this turned out to be!
I honestly wasn't super excited for it when I bought it, but it's actually a delightful twist on the usual Zelda formula by giving you the ability to finally play as Zelda herself, who has completely different methods of combat and exploration than Link usually does, which turns every aspect of the game into a fun kind of mini-puzzle.
The overword is just the right size and a ton of fun to explore. The overall difficulty is lower than usual, I think, but the questing and puzzle-solving more than make up for it. I had a lot more fun with the dungeons than I usually do in these games. Again, they were just the right size, and the puzzles and mysteries were rarely overwhelming, but they were still always fun and gratifying to solve. Boss battles are definitely unique, and require Zelda to use her particular abilities in ways you haven't seen before.
This game took about 35 hours for me to complete and I was honestly a little sad when it ended, I was having so much fun with it. It's the perfect change of pace for longtime Zelda fans, and I hope everyone will give it a play.

Awesome puzzles, curious abilities, and the perfect combat speed for beginners make it a great first Zelda game for anyone. Haven’t gotten more than a couple hours into the plot, but it’s a blast watching my daughter figure things out and giving little tips to help refine her play. Not sure if first grade is the correct age range, as there are quite a few words outside of normal vocab. After reading through and beating games like Yoshi’s Crafted World, Kirby’s Forgotten Land, and Pokemon Violet, Zelda Echoes of Wisdom just seemed like the next game in line for her. Plus, she’s been asking for it ever since game trailers aired haha! Her favorite part is the echoes because they can be used in so many ways. Nice to finally have Zelda as the main character in a Zelda game, as i didn’t really want my daughter to play a Zelda game as Link. However, i think Echoes has effectively shelved Princess Peach’s Showtime, at least for the time being. Parents should be ready to help in the early stages of the game, with creative solutions and tips to help young minds blossom - personal Zelda experience is definitely a plus!

Game had many stages that were not too difficult to complete. The graphics and the ease of playing made it extremely fun to play. I look forward to adventure games that require you to think about moving forward by solving puzzles as you play along.

Ever wonder what it would be like to play as Zelda in the Legend of Zelda? Here's a game that actually plays for its namesake as the titular Princess Zelda (that's right, the guy's name is actually Link). This title features a conjuring mechanic where your wand can create learned items to aid you in your quest--a stool to hop up to higher heights is a basic example. It'll hold your attention to the end and you'll want to keep it to play it again.
Love it! Zelda-Heads will love it! Oodles of fun!!

We love it! Fun to play with lovely surprise shh no spoilers. ;) Reminiscent of old style games but with better modern graphics. Lots of fun, great adventures and tasks! New style of gameplay where you’re learning and taking on power of other characters to vanquish enemies. Very cool but different gameplay than TOTK or BOTW. Moves aren’t as complicated. No change of clothes or weapons to create or fuse like those but still fun! Another Zelda Masterpiece. But we’re Zelda-Heads. ;) We love it all! Oodles of fun for everyone!!
