It's everything to love about classic Zelda games, and all the updates you could want to an old Game Boy game.
Highly recommended, but IF you are looking for another Breath of the Wild, warning: this isn't it; you might end up a bit disappointed at how compact this game feels by comparison.

This may be one of the greatest remakes of any game in video game history. The amount of life brought back into this game from the old Gameboy version is absolutely stunning. The look, music, and weird gameplay of the original is back. It may even be more addicting than before.

The game is wonderful, the music is remastered and very fitting in terms of their choice/style of orchestrating. Those who’ve played the retro version will be pleased by this remake, which retains the same quirks and charm, while ironing out some gameplay mechanics here and there. Remakes are great when the end result just works. The game is also compatible with a prior LoZ amiibo, and the new Link’s Awakening amiibo, which gives you the special Dark Link npc for your dungeon designs. The dreamer edition came with an art book, which contains a lot of the development/production art, and some early concepts/iterations. Although it’s small in terms of width and length, it contains a good amount of pages. I think it’s the same length as the EU version, but don’t hold me to it. It’s a shame we didn’t get the steelbook, but hey, at least we got something! The price for the game and the book is a steal. Get this in store if you’re able to find it!

If you're played the original you know what expect out of this one. Same great gameplay with nice graphics and art style. It has quality of life improvements over the original. The artbook is well put together and it's nice seeing how the concepts changed over time.

A Radical Graphical Update to a Gameboy Classic

The original Link's Awakening is perhaps the bet game on the original Gameboy. Despite being in black and white, and featuring a fraction of the resolution of its console contemporaries the game just oozed charm and character.
The remake for the Switch plays mostly the same, with some nice tweaks for modern convenience (like no longer having to switch out the sword, shield and dash boots due to the additional buttons) but otherwise if you played the original on the Gameboy you'll feel right at home with this version.
The biggest and most noticeable change is in the graphical style of the game, which not everyone may be a fan of but I found incredibly effective at invoking a sense of play that ran through the original game. Even if you don't like the new look, it remains one of the all time best Zelda games and a great addition to any player's Switch library.

This is a remake of the original Link's Awakening for the Gameboy from back in 1993. It is a very faithful recreation with the locations and gameplay almost identical the the original. The graphics have gotten a complete makeover and are now in a toy style thatbis similar to the yarn aesthetic Nintendo has been using more often lately with the Yoshi and Kirby games. QoL changes have been made with the sword, shield, Pegasus boots, and power bracelet having dedicated buttons instead of having to swap out items two at a time as required by hardware limitations in the original. There are also more warp points, and when you continue the game from a save you start off exactly where you were instead of the last building or cave you exited.
It's a great game and would be good for both new Zelda players and those who experienced the original Link's Awakening when it came out.

Such an adorable remaster of this classic game. It is beautiful to look at, handles really well, and has some fun new features added in too. The build your own dungeons mode is great. The version I got came with a special art book which is a good read

This remake is an exact remake of the GBC version with better graphics! The artstyle is incredibly charming and looks like a living diorama. The art book is really cool too but I do want the European version with the GameBoy steelbook.

I enjoyed the original but this remaster is unbelievable. Far superior graphics and gameplay. This is an unusual chapter in the Zelda world that just be played by Zelda fans. Not too lengthy, charming art style, quality puzzles and gameplay.

Link's Awakening is a wonderful, charming remake of a classic many people may not have played. It really feels modern but with classic Zelda sensibilities. The extras in the Dreamer's Edition are really nice. The artbook is beautiful.

Really enjoying this game with my family. It's not as intense or long as Breath of the Wild, but still a fun Zelda adventure. The Dreamer Edition came with the book, but we haven't looked at it too much, because of potential spoilers.

The game is definitely one of the best to come out o Switch yet, sadly the performance is kinda bad so hopefully they will patch it. Artbook has great images and info, if you're a Zelda fan and can find this version get it!

While the remake doesn't change a lot from the original aside from the art style, that perhaps is not a flaw. The original was a great game and to bring it back to life in this modern way was an extremely fun ride. There are a few frame rate issues which isn't too distracting but disappointing for a full-priced remake product.
The art book is well made and offers some interesting concept art, but isn't too special.

An amazing near 1-1 remake of the revered title on the original GameBoy. Gorgeous visuals and fantastic music provide the backbone for action, adventure, and a dense world full of secrets. Highly recommended!

Still a great game with a fresh coat of paint. Not very long, but a great experience. If you were a fan of it back in the day or any of the other handheld Zelda games then this will scratch the same itch.

The game itself is a very well-done remake, but it's performance issues (frame drops) could be better. If this ever gets patched I would probably rate this 5 stars. The book that comes with the package is surprisingly detailed and there's a lot of content that comes in it. But based on the special editions that other regions got, this seems a bit lacking. Still worth it, though.

Even though this is a "re-imagining," The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is another great game in the Zelda series. Having played the original as well as DX, this game faithfully recreates those games (more specifically DX), and adds more content to it. There is more to the Fishing Pond and the Trendy Game, and the Camera Shop has been replaced with the Chamber Dungeon, where you put together your own dungeons. The aesthetic and art style is perfect, as it reflects the original sprites in a modern take that just fits. 5 out of 5 from me, I had a blast playing through this story once again!
Also, the art book that is included with the Dreamer Edition is really nice!
