I never got a chance to play the original game back on the gameboy. I am having so much fun playing this game, it definitely has an old school feel with fairly simple conversations with the characters on the island and straightforward activities. However the dungeons have some really nice tricky puzzles that require your focus and attention to small details. The art book is a really nice addition too!

This game is very good. Nintendo put effort into the beautiful graphics, but at the end of the day this is still a GameBoy game and has all the criticisms and pains of a game from the 90's.

The original game was so iconic for fans its hard to believe they could pull off a remake so well but they did. The full price tag is worth it imo I played around 20hrs taking my time exploring and collecting all the extra things. The art style is really something to see in motion. The art book that came with this version is really interesting and well put together.

I just got done beating this game on Hero mode. The game is a little short and easy but the harder difficulty makes it more fun. I also made the game longer by completing it 100%, got every heart container, secret seashell, and Chambers stones. That makes it alot more longer, which I did enjoy completing it at 100%. It was not a chore to gather everything.

Wake the Windfish!

In what's probably the most bizarre Legend of Zelda story, Link must set out to wake the WindFish from its slumber. But it's going to be a nightmare. Traditional Zelda exploration and dungeons with the usual weapons and some slightly new tricks. This is a remake of a Gameboy game from a little over 20 years ago, faithfully remade with some new additions. It's a beautiful HD game that's lots of fun. It can be difficult at times, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone younger than maybe 10 years old. There's also Amiibo support and you can use any Legend of Zelda brand amiibo to unlock dungeon pieces or the Link amiibo to summon shadow link.

I loved the original and I love the remake! Just about all of the old gameplay mechanics are there, with some improvements. The game is still very enjoyable and has a great sense of humor. I’m glad I went the extra for the art book on this game. The new art style looks great in my opinion and I love looking through the book.

This was a decent remake of the original GameBoy Link's Awakening. It looks pretty good, but there are frame rate issues that get kind of annoying.

One of my favorite Zelda games reimagined for the switch. The original game boy game is intact here with a new art style and plenty of quality of life updates especially supporting the switch’s full array of buttons since the game it only had two and item management was tedious in the original version. Highly recommend

I played this game as a kid and it was one of my favorites, so I had to jump on this and had to get the Dreamer Edition with the extra book. Wow, this art style is beautiful. Nintendo should do this with all their older titles that haven't aged so well. What a great experience to be able to share this with my son.

Yes it is worth to pay full price. Having said that let me tell you that as an original player of Links Awakening on Gam Boy I was hesitant yo pay full price for this title. It is just a “beautiful“ game that’s the only way to describe it in lack of a more masculine synonym haha. Just buy it, you won’t regret it.

What you see is what you get -- a faithful remake to Link's Awakening, with the Game Boy Color's DX version's Color Dungeon in tact. There's more stuff to find -- seashells, pieces of heart, etc, and a new dungeon creator (that could have been fleshed out more, but is still loads of fun to play around with), too.

I had always wanted to play this game and with this version was finally given a chance. I ate this up like a link to the oast sequel. It iwas refreshing to play a classic with updated graphics and it felt right at home with its almost 3 decade old design. My children loved it too, perfect purchase!

This game is great. I wasn't too keen on the art direction at first and while I think they could have done better, Overall the gameplay and the graphics were all still great and really faithful to the original. I do miss the Photograph side quest from the DX version of Links awakening though.
