This game is great and fills older gamers with nostalgia. Young kids will also enjoy the cute aesthetics of the world/characters. This game wont dissapoint.

I haven’t played a Zelda game like this before. I know it’s a remake. So that aside it is good I love the art work if it. It’s fun and can be challenging which keeps me playing.

I’ve been a fan of Zelda games since the original released for the NES. My personal favorite in the series is A Link to the Past and you can bet I spent a lot of time playing that game. I’m a huge fan of the top down versions of these games because there’s so much character and attention to detail with all of the maps. I never got around to playing Link’s Awakening when it released on the gameboy because I didn’t believe a huge sprawling world would be represented well on the portable format. I was wrong.
Enter Link’s Awakening for the Switch! A top down Zelda that follows the same formula I grew to love with the original and A Link to the Past with a fresh coat of paint! The music is wonderful, the graphics are beautiful and the secrets are aplenty! There are exclusive dungeons that have unique items in each of them that allow you to access different areas and huge bosses that are fun to battle. The over world map is detailed enough to plan where you need to go and I really like having the ability to leave markers for yourself to reference later if you come across a potential secret you don’t have access to. It’s a neat and tidy package that begs to be opened.
With glowing praise there will always be cons and the issues I have with the game aren’t gamebreaking but rather minor annoyances. You are forced to use the analog rather than the dpad which imo felt more suited to this game and the frame rate is all over the place while exiting and entering buildings and caves. The game also isn’t very long either. My gametime clocked in at just under 25 hours which for a Zelda game is pretty low. The story is also a little shallow as well.
My issues aside this game is absolutely worth playing if you’ve never experienced it before. I think $60 is a bit steep for the amount of game you get here but it’s Zelda in it’s finest format and that alone should warrant a purchase from the people that appreciate the format.

I have played the original game for the Gameboy back in the day and bought it on the 3DS when it came out for virtual console. I have always liked playing the game but never finished it. Now with this release of the game for the Switch, it made me want to fully complete it more than ever.
Plays pretty much the same as the original with some slight tweaks. The game looks gorgeous with the new art style used and makes replaying this game feel more unique. It is not a super long game but it doesn't need to be. This one of the best 2d Zelda games behind A Link between Worlds and a Link to the Past. (though I have not played it yet)
I highly recommend the game for anyone that loves The Legend of Zelda and I recommend the game as well for anyone that hasn't played a Zelda game.

I'm probably about halfway through this and it feels like the Legend of Zelda that I played in the 80's as a kid. Not too hard, but has some puzzles and hidden stuff. If you get stuck there's plenty of walkthroughs online. This is not "immersive" by today's gaming standards, but I don't have the time or patience for that. I just want to play a couple hours a week and enjoy it. That's what this game delivers.

Every title they bring to the new switch is a welcome one, but this one is an exception. Tastefully updated and remastered, they've brought a simple gameboy game into a new console perfectly. If only Nintendo would see the light and bring the full library of titles to bear on the new mobile console platform, they could really carve out a chunk of market share. Alas, some of their greatest titles are still trapped on the WiiU platform.
If you enjoy Zelda games, or have never played one, this is the game for beginners and enthusiasts alike.

All I have to say is that this game has: VERY UPBEAT, STEREOTYPICAL AND HILARIOUS CHARACTERS , THE STORYLINE MAKES SO MUCH SENSE AND ITS SOO CREATIVE, THE DUNGEONS ARE TRICKY BUT ONCE YOU FINISH THEM U FEEL LIKE YOU GOT A WORLD RECORD OR SOMETHING SMH, AND LASTLY THE BOSSES ARENT THESE BOSSES WITH 3000 HEARTS, THEY CAN BE EASILY BEAT IF YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO. the game require big gaming skills and you have to be really smart to beat this.
