Having played the original for GameBoy (Color), this is an excellent modernization on the classic game. There's definitely some new twists and additions to the game, what with creating your own dungeons. There are some changes from the base game that are reflected in the modernization to accommodate gameplay, but that helps break the "I know where everything is" to "I know where most of everything is now where the heck is the rest."

Nintendo shows you don’t have to have 4K graphics and 3D realism to make a great, fun game. I hope they continue to make more installments of this franchise forever!

This game is incredible. Brings back all my childhood memories. I loved playing the old and I still love playing this. Fantastic re-make of this Game Boy classic.

Very fun and engaging game. It brings back great memories of when I purchased Zelda on the 16-bit SNES in the 1990s, as this game is the same style, but with modern graphics. For being such a simple game in terms of graphics, the game will slow down when there are too many characters and action on the screen, similar to the CPU processing slowness of the SNES- how ironic! Overall, this bogging down can be overlooked, as the wonderful qualities of the fun game prevail!

If you played this on GB, you know what you're getting into. This remake has gorgeous visuals, a great soundtrack, and a spanning overworld instead of the grid-based original. You'll run into frame rate hiccups whenever you enter a new area, but it stabilizes pretty quickly. It's one of the shorter Zeldas, but it's a great ride while it lasts.

Anyone who has played a 16 bit Legend of Zelda game will definitely enjoy this game. The game is very stylized, but still gets you back In the top down mindset.

You most likely know that this is a remake (from the ground up) game of the same name for the game boy. I played the original back in the day when I was in elementary school and tbh, that old version does hold up today, but this is a fantastic revision which holds all the stuff that made the original great. The Zelda franchise is one of those franchises were nearly every game (except those CDI games) is gold and this one is no different. If you are new to the series or a returning fan, this is a great buy. It's super fun.

As I was playing through this game I came to the realization that the original gameboy version was the first game I ever owned. I had no idea what I was doing back then and never even got passed the first dungeon, but I still played it for hours just wandering around the small bit of map I had available to me. It’s kind of amazing going back to this 20+ years later and finally getting to explore this world. I love the update and the gameplay holds up fantastically.

This is my favorite 2D Zelda game. It's relatively short, but oh so sweet. My only complaint is the sometimes subpar performance, but that's rarely an issue.

This is a fantastic remake, worth every penny. It gives a lot of hope for future remakes of the Zelda series.
This took away nothing from the original game and added a lot of style that made it feel even better.
The only negative is the dropped frame rate from time to time. Perhaps due to a rush to get this complete. Hoping this gets fixed in an update, or at least in the next remake. However this doesn't ruin the game or make it unplayable in anyway.
Loved this game, one of the few games this year I've wanted to sit down and play start to finish 100% of the collectables.

Great game! I'm not a big Zelda fan in fact this is my first one and i think that it is a great introduction to the series. It has a great art style consistent frame rate and most importantly fun gameplay I really like that i can explore but the world isn't too big so that it feels empty or i feel overwhelmed the puzzles especially later on are fairly challenging and progression goes at just the right pace overall I think this game is a must buy and a great introduction to the series

A great game redone with so many little touches to help the game in area it lacked in the orignal. Good for begginners to the series or the hardcore Zelda fans. The art style is amazing to look at as you explore the island and uncover its many hidden mysteries.

As someone who played the original Link's Awakening back in the day I had high expectations for this game and it did not disappoint. Charming, fun and true to the original with a nice new coat of paint. And the new button mapping is a huge improvement. As a note, you do not need to have played the original to enjoy this game. You will hear noise about the framerate issues but in my opinion they do not affect the overall quality of the game. Pick this one up.

Excellent remake of a great original game! The atmopshere and environment is amazing, graphics are great. A very good game to add to the switch's library.

This game is gorgeous, fun to play, and challenging, especially when you start the game on the harder setting.
A few things I don't like however. You can only control link in 8 directions. You can only use the analog stick too which makes takes a while to get used too. Nintendo needs to enable the D Pad to give it the classic SNES feel.
Also the game slows down a lot in some areas. Frames crawl and it is noticeable. I didn't diminish my enjoyment of the game but it was off putting.
Other than those 2 complaints it was a great game and glad to have it in my collection.
