This is probably the best zelda game to date. better than ocrania of time. the controls are fairly simple to pick up and play. swing the wii remote to slash your sword, and the nun chuck stick to move around. also swinging the nun chuck makes link do a spin attack. the buttons on the nun chuck are for looking around, while the wii remote are for picking up items and navigating through you items. the story is great as well. it will keep you intrested and wanting to find out what happens next. the length of the game is around 40 hours of actual game play I think. I am about halfways in the game and have put about 20 or so hours into it. so I think it is rather long. the graphics in this game are as good as the gamecube graphics, but nothing bad.
the difficultly in this game is kind of hard, especially if you do not have a strategy guide to help you like me. but this is a great game, if you own a nintendo wii go out and buy this game you won't be dissapointed.

Zelda being one of the best Nintendo franchises (if not the best), this was a must play game for me. After finishing story and optional quests (50 PLUS HOURS), here is what I think.
PROS.
PLENTY OF DUNGEONS: Just like previous Zelda games, this consists of a big world map and then plenty of dungeons in the world map. As the story progress, you will have access to different dungeons and as you make your way through different dungeons, you will encounter different enemies, obtain different items and finally fight a major boss. However, things are not as repetitive as it sounds. The story does very good job motivating you why you should go through each dungeon, plus, between the dungeon you are required to and also you have an option to do many different things (see below for more details)
WOLF/HUMAN GAMEPLAY: So as you may know, in this game you can turn into a wolf (more like you are forcefully turned into this creature in the beginning). To progress through the story (and to get access to different dungeons), you are required to do perform tasks at both human and a wolf. In the beginning of the game, this may feel a bit redundant; however, as you go forward (say about finishing first three dungeons), this will actually become fun. Both being human and wolf has their own advantages for both in combat and accessing different areas and this game will challenge you to successfully use your abilities both as wolf and human to progress through the game.
WEAPONS AND GADGETS: As many of you may know, Zelda games are famous for weapons and gadgets you get to use. This game is no exception. As you progress through the story, especially when you go to different dungeons, you will get access to different gadgets. Boy these gadgets are fun to use. Creative use of gadgets is required to solve many puzzles in many dungeons, beat bosses and get secret treasures.
BOSSES: There are plenty of sweet bosses in this game. As mentioned above, each dungeon will contain one major boss. Some dungeons have two major bosses. On top of them, there are also bosses outside of dungeon gameplay. So if you are like me and enjoy beating bosses in games, then you will love this game. Also as mentioned above, YOU WILL HAVE TO use your gadgets and human/wolf ability creatively to overcome these bosses. While earlier bosses may seem pushover, later bosses are more fun.
VARIETY IN GAMEPLAY AND MINIGAMES: As mentioned above, you will be playing both as human and wolf. On top of that the story and side quests will also introduce you to different type of gameplay, such as horse riding, kayaking, swimming over and underwater, riding big birds, riding boars (slightly different than riding boars). Honestly, I love games that provide you with so many different types of experiences.
SWORD AND SHIELD PLAY WITH WII MOTE: While not perfect, different moves you can do with Wii mote for using sword and shield work 90% of the time. Some moves will feel cooler than the other.
LOTS AND LOTS OF SECRET ITEMS: There are hundreds and hundreds of hidden items throughout the game, some more useful than others of course. If you are a completionist, you will love hunting for these hidden treasures. And as mentioned above, creative use of gadgets truly makes this treasure hunting experience enjoyable.
STORY: The game has a decent story with some what of a suspense to it. Can't describe much without spoiling it.
CONS.
FISHING WITH WII MOTE: Dear lord, THIS IS SO ANNOYING. To those who actually fish may find it fun, but I don't fish and I don't find it fun. Unfortunately, there are two places in the story where you are required to fish and I find that experience torturing and horrible. If you want to get all the secret items, you will have to fish more.
WII VERSION UPDATE: As you may know this game was originally created for gamecube. It was pretty sweet how they made sword and shield control with wii mote, but I wish they had done more in terms of improving graphics. While wii is not known for its graphics, some games like Metroid Other M and Super Mario Galaxy look pretty awesome on it. So if they wanted, they certainly could have done better job.
CONCLUSION
So other than fishing and graphics, this was pretty much a perfect game for me. People who like action adventure, THIS GAME IS A MUST.

Before "Twilight Princess", the only other Zelda game I had played was the original one on my old GBA. I didn't really like that game too much so I wasn't very sure about this one when I first got it, but now I absolutely love it! It's really fun to swing your Wii remote like a sword, even if it does tend to turn into random, violent shaking after a while. I thought the graphics were amazing (far better than I would have expected), the storyline was fine, and the fact that you get to play as a wolf was really fun. Also, there are plenty of side quests so you can make this game last quite a while if you want to. My only complaint is that I had expected it to be a little more challenging, but other than that this is a really great game. Definitely worth it!

The best game I have for my Wii

This could be the best game ever released for the Wii, with graphix that are surprisingly well rendered for the wii (though still not on par with other new-gen systems) the controlls which could have easily been clumsy and irritating, for the most part shine through fairly well with only a few hiccups, when I finished the story line I didn't feel cheated by the length, and if you are looking for even more fun go back and find all the extras, which also adds a level of optional difficulty that is perfect for the hardcore games though not necisary for those who just want to finish the story. overall one of my favorite games on the Wii

This installment in the Zelda seris is just like the rest. Amazing. You have a well written plot combined with all new gadgets like the double hookshoot and water bombs. To top it off you are a werd wolf of deminsions. You change between the real world and the world of twilight(even though you eventually get the ability to change whenever). Even through these new things you have the classic ligh arrows and Gannon. But all these things are hyped up by the Wii's controls. You aim arrows, swing your sword, and roll. All with the wii-chuck. This game lasts over 30 hours and there are many side quests.

Once I got past the beginning of this game, there was no stopping me. First of all, I love how you get to name Link and Epona whatever you want. How cool is that? And you get to ride Epona for travelling from place to place. It's so fun controlling the horse-ride! And the way Link changes from wolf to man? Totally awesome! I just love how long the game is. Like, I've been playing this game for months and I'm not even half way there! Link's different weapons are way cool. This game is definately worth its money.
What sort of annoyed me was that at the cut-scenes, no one talked. You just had to read the little speech bubble thing. The graphics were pretty good, a lot better than most, but I've seen better. Throughout the game, it's really easy to get lost and not know what to do without a guide. And it's impossible to beat the bosses when you don't know how to hurt them. The dungeon parts do take very long, way too long in my opinion. When it becomes night, I really get irritated. Almost all the shops close and there are more monsters out and about. It takes a while for it to become day again. I could do without the night.
All in all, this game was just amazing. It was a lot funner than I imagined. I recommend this game to anyone who likes direct fighting by hitting and stuff in games. Trust me, you won't be disappointed with this game.

This game has not let me down. I am a big Zelda fan and have bought every nintendo system just for this game. This has lived up to all the others. The only thing I wish they would have done is spent the extra money to have the people talk instead of having to read subtitles. I would rather have spent an extra 10 or 15 dollars for the game to get the full affect with having the people in the game actually talk. But other then that, this game is a MUST HAVE for your collection. I can not stop playing it. Once you pick it up it is hard to put it down.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess gets a perfect score from me. It had everything I wanted in this sort of game. It is an adventure across an enormous, vivid landscape, with an incredible amount of things to find, plenty of interesting characters, and of course, thrilling battles. My first time through the game took just over 50 hours, and I haven't even found everything yet, so this is one long adventure! If you liked any of the previous games in the "Zelda" series, pick up Twilight Princess!

I dont even know where to begin. I, like every one else, was very anxious to get a Wii when they first came out. But of course it was hard to find one so i spent my time reading about games that i could get when i finally had the wii. And the biggest one i saw was Twilight Princess. I wanted it soooo bad and i then wanted a wii even more. i had never really played Zelda before but i thought i would try it. So i bought the game before i even got the wii. A few weeks later i finally managed to get a wii and i rushed home to play Zelda. I put the game in and was instantly amazed! The graphics were very nice (and could have been better if the game wasn't originally planned for gamecube) and the story became interesting right away.
I played through the whole game and i cannot stop talking about the amazing storyline! The story is so wonderful and i cannot explain how great it is to just explore the enormous land of Hyrule. I played through the main game in about 40 hours and have put in another 30 hours collecting hearts and exploring. 70 hours total and there is still tons more to do!! This game turned me on to the whole Zelda series and after trying all the other Zelda games (which are all very good too) none of them come close to Twilight Princess. It is by far the best game i have ever played and the longest. I am anxiously awaiting the next game in the series for the wii.
Amazing Story, huge land of Hyrule, excellent controls, beautiful graphics, and one of the longest games out there, i would recomend this to any Zelda fan or just anyone who wants a fun, challenging game.
Ive had the game for almost two years and i still play it to this day.

Twilight Princess on the Wii is, in my opinion, the best Wii game I have played so far. Many people would have everyone think that the Wii cannot display great graphics, but I found the visuals in this game to be absolutely stunning. The storyline is full and immersive, spanning several large areas to explore, the characters are well developed, and the gameplay itself is not difficult to pick up, even for the novice gamer. I listed the length of the game as both a pro and a con, it really depend on what you prefer. For me, I enjoy a game that takes a while to play through, but you may prefer a game that you can finish quickly. The replay value of this game is also a question. Once you have beaten it, more than likely, you will not replay it. It idoes not have inherent replay like a sports game might. While it is true that the game was not developed solely for the Wii, the control scheme that was added during the later stages of development brings some nice elements to the gameplay. For fans of the Zelda series, this is not a large departure from previous titles, but is a nice continuation of the series with a few small changes. Be prepared for the classic puzzles combined with fighting action. The swinging of the Wii remote controls Link's sword nicely, albeit not as precisely as some would like, which does lead to some wild swinging to bring down enemies. The Wii's controllers feel very natural in the hands and help make for a comfortable playing experience that I often found myself lost in until the wee hours of the morning...

excellent game if i may so myself. Storyline changes from the usual which was cool.
Link starts out as a farmboy with a strange tattoo on his hand then *BOOM* storyline hits and we begin the epic saga known as the legend of zelda.
The extra characters were strange and new, a little childish in some parts but that can be EASILY overlooked.
The sound and music were fantastic, mixing the old with the new to create something EPIC.
Gameplay are as goes: control of one character known as Link, follow along the story to unravel mysterious plots to overthrow the world of light.
The Twilight realm is introduced though its simularities to the light and dark world in the SNES legend of zelda are quite uncanny, another detail easily overlooked.
After exploring dungeons, obtaining new and old weapons (ball and chain(new)) (hookshot(old))
our hero sets out on another world saver, this time, instead of a fairy by his side we have Midna...the impish female counterpart whose real identity is a spoiler(like always)
You now have control of a new version of Link by transforming into a Wolf beast with one leg shakle always attached, accompanied by Midna who makes this version the way to go.
New sword techniques make this game. A couple of them are truely outstanding while the others are just plain useful for certain situations.
whenever you are an old fan or a new one, this game is great for those who like action, adventure, solving puzzles and enjoying myriad hours of Hyrule.

This is one of the best zelda games out there it has a really good story to it. The game play is great it is a long game it is what you would expect from a zelda game. The only problem with the game is sometimes the game would take a little bit to respond to the controller movements or i would try to do an attack and wind up doing a attack that you didn't want to do

A Future Classic

Twilight Princess reinforces the innovation of the video game powerhouse known as Nintendo. Since the original NES, Zelda has been synonomous with excellence in the gaming world. Twilight Princess takes a classic adventure archetype and beefs it up with improved graphics, gameplay, and even some humor. This version bein on the Wii takes sword swinging and bow hunting to a whole new level. There is nothing more satisfying than hewing down evildoers with a flick of the wrist as opposed to button mashing. With the Wii-mote tasks such as aiming become not only easier but more fun.
The storyline of Twilight Princess is certainly something that shouldn't be skipped over. With new intriguing characters such as Midna and Zant, a more in depth experience takes place within the game. Bringing the world out of twilight, Link encounters many trials that compounded together make for quite the epic game. As time progresses and the plot fleshes out, the gamer comes to realize that this game is more then a hack and slash adventure game. Puzzles, exploration, and the occasional jocular dialogue take Twilight Princess beyond the stereotypical moneymaking game of the week. Overall, Zelda: Twilight Princess is more than a rehashed classic and I certainly look forward to a future installment

Hi.
This being my first Zelda game ever played and being played on my first nintendo system ever purchased. Never was a fan of nintendo in the early days, but now since the wii came out, my whole perspective has changed. I can't wait to get all the other Zelda games previous to this one just to see how it all started.
Every one said that this was the game to get if you had a wii, so i rented it and found it to be a bit slow in the beginning. Of course, how many great games have tutorials to introduce you to basic moves that start out slow? Well, most i'd say. Once I got past the opening part of the game, then it got interesting. The game play is very unique and some what tiring, but still keeps you wondering what's gonna happen next. I love the interactive qualities of the wii. can't get enough of it.
Too bad I rented Zelda instead of going with my initial instincts of just buying it in the first place.

Twilight Princess brings back so many great memories from Ocarina of Time by perfectly recapturing all the gameplay elements that made its predecessor a classic. The motion controls are used excellently and add to the gameplay and immersion thanks to their intuitive nature. Some may criticize Twilight Princess for being a graphical update for Ocarina of Time, and one with GameCube quality graphics at that. But while they share many key elements the differences in stories, characters, items, and dungeon designs are drastic enough that you never feel like you're just playing the same game in a negative way. Instead, the moments when you notice very direct similarities will add to rather than detract from the gameplay experience by giving you that familiarity you experience when running into a good old friend you haven't seen in a few years but can still talk to non-stop right off the bat.

I picked up Twilight Princess on the very first day of the Wii's release and I was very anxious to get my hands on it. I absolutely loved all the Zelda games before it.
I played it for a little while and then I stopped because I wanted to play the rest after I received my component cables so I could play in 480p. Good move, because it definitely looked better in 480p.
The controls were great, the puzzles were fun, however, I couldn't help but notice how last generation the game looked. I mean I know the game was meant to be released for the gamecube but I was hoping for some more polish to the wii version. Also, the bosses looked nice but they were too easy. The game overall was fairly easy, except for a few puzzles that you really had to think about.
The storyline was nothing spectacular either. Most of the characters you meet along the way weren't developed as much as you wanted them to be...you don't really feel a connection with them throughout the game except for Midna, who was very well developed. I think they should've spent more time on developing a connection to Link because I barely even remember some of the other characters in the game now.
A lack of voice acting also left this game in the last generation. I don't care if Link doesn't talk but they could've easily made the other characters say something.
Overall, I couldn't put the controller down because I was having a blast playing this game. The pacing of the game was done pretty well. The puzzles were great, but a lack of next gen characteristics made me fall short of giving this game 5 stars.
