Okay, so I've watched SOO many Disney movies and can't get enough of them. I've probably seen each one at least 5 times, and those being the "old" versions. When I bought this, I wasn't too sure as to how the 4K would apply, being that it was a very old movie... but ohhh, how it applied. It was crisp and the animations seemed smoother and more "21st Century". If you're a fan of Disney movies, and/or you've never seen them, the 4K option is the way to go!

While the picture and sound quality were not recorded in today's technologically advanced standards, for a movie 30 years old, the picture and sound quality on this format were quite good. We have a 75" screen, and the picture filled it, unlike other "older" films which end up getting cropped at the edges, due to inferior source materials used. Disney went all out to ensure this was the best picture we could get, and the movie itself still holds up well today.

Purchased this for my daughter for Christmas so she could compare the two. I bought this also for a a keepsake as she had not kept the VHS from her childhood. She loved it!

I remember as a child begging my mom for this movie on vhs and with her looking all over town just for this movie. That being said when I heard about this movie coming to blu-ray was a must have for me. The transition from vhs to dvd and to blu-ray was very clear picture. Ursula still is one of my favorite villains after all these years. This movie is a must have to watch with your children and they will love the songs that is in the movie.

I saw this movie when I was a kid and to see in HD blu-ray on a Sony XBR TV is amazing. The colors and clarity are fantastic for the LAST drawn out Disney movie. We can watch this movie time and time again, not just for the movie but for the music. Plenty of times I sang these songs at Karaoke. Don't miss out on a great time with the family by not picking up a copy. This is one that should be in your collection no matter what...

The Little Mermaid looks great on 4K bluray! Not a massive uptick in sharpness (after all it's a series of drawings, how much detail is there?) but a definite improvement in color and in the richness of the image. The sound is good too, but it does fall a little bit short of the new soundtrack on The Lion King 4K bluray. Still, The Little Mernaid is a good purchase for any die-hard Disney fan with a 4K bluray player and 4K HDR TV.

Disney's The Little Mermaid is the film that was a shot in the arm to Disney's animation department. For a number of years before this, their movies were good, but just lacked something. This movie found that something. It was great then, still great today. It's also nice that Disney is still re-releasing this as a DVD/BD/Digital combo packs so buyers have a choice in what device they use to enjoy their movie.

This has been my daughter's favorite movie since she was born, so when it went on sale I had to snatch it up.

I bought this for my wife who is been a lifelong fan of the Little mermaid. The collectible steel book and the special features alone are quite amazing not to mention the seamless restoration of the film into 4K. Comes with a digital copy and a regular Blu-ray disc a must for any fan even if you don't have a 4K you could buy this package and hold onto 4K disc for when you do have 4K

The Little Mermaid is one of Disney's best animated motion pictures. It tells the classic Hans Christian Anderson story of a mermaid who wishes she could be human in order to capture the love of a human prince. The animation is beautiful, in fact I think this is one of Disney's most flawless films. This is loaded with extras...A must for someones Disney collection

This movie is a Disney classic! Not only did it start the era of 2D animated classics that came after it, the movie also diversified the Disney princesses by creating the first red haired Disney princess as all princesses before her were blonde or brunette. This movie is a staple of classic Disney animation and a staple for young red haired girls everywhere.

Love the Little mermaid, one of the best movies I own. The story are entertaining and music was fun. This is the only true Little Mermaid movie. Highly recommend it to everyone.

If you went to see the Little Mermaid in the theater and bought the DVD previously, but not the Blu-Ray you are missing out on all the extras, such as the HD effects of Blue-Ray for a start, not to mention all the Special Features on the 30th Anniversary Signature Collection Edition of this animated feature. Add it to your Disney classics collection.

Newer classic that is much a fun movie fir kids as it is a film study for animators.

The Little Mermaid has always been one of my favorite Disney movies and I was excited to hear that it was being upgraded to 4K and even better there was a steelbook option. Video, the best I've ever seen it. Even clearer and adding more detail than I've seen before. For audio, the Dolby Atmos soundtrack just adds so much more to the experience.

A very good movie , my special needs Grand Daughter loves it and she watches it very often.

What can I say about this movie? It’s incredible. A true Disney classic. But the real thing I should mention is the amazing steelbook and A/V presentation of the film. This is the definitive home video release of the film. Just make sure to redeem your digital code for access to probably every special feature ever created for the film.

My wife loves The Little Mermaid and was super excited to see how the movie has been enhanced in 4K. The picture is the clearest it has ever been and the surround has been enhanced perfectly! She was able to hear sounds that you couldn't originally in the older model disks or even the VHS. Differently worth adding to our collection!
