This was my second time purchasing this lord of the rings steel book set, the first one I had to return because the outer case was bent. I’m so happy they are back in stock both the hobbit and lord of the rings, got both and wow no regrets, these movies are some of my all time favorites and the steel book packaging is impeccable. 5/5

It's no secret LoTR is one of the best film trilogies of all time. Now, with this latest offering in stunning 4k, the trilogy comes to life in vivid, striking detail like never before! If your a film buff like me, this steelbook collection is worth its weight in gold and once you see it for yourself, you'll most definitely agree!

All I can tell you is that if you are a LOTR fan like me, you NEED to see this version, ESPECIALLY if you own a TV that can display 4K UHD and HDR and your blu-ray player must be able to process and pass this extreme amount of data! Also, you MUST have a super high speed HDMI cable!! You will love this steelbook set!!

Incredible and beautiful set. It is a completely different experience watching Lord of The Rings in 4K. The art on the steelbooks is incredible. This is a must have for any steelbook and lord of the rings collector. The set arrived in mint condition with fast shipping even though it was during the holiday surge. You will not be disappointed.

These movies are classics and while it's certainly subjective, I believe these films have never looked and sounded better than they do on this 4k release. The CGI certainly looks scores better than it did on the blu-ray though given it's age, it's certainly not perfect. For now, this is the definitive version of these films. Highly recommended

The Steelbooks look fantastic. The 4K transfer is overall really good. The only reason I can't give 5 Stars is because they decided to put way too much digital noise reduction on these 4K versions in order to make it look more like the digital recordings of the Hobbit. It's the only gripe I have with calling this the "definitive" version of LOTR. It is the best versions of these movies you can buy though.

I also own The Hobbit, but I enjoy watching Lord of the Rings the most. I upgraded from the Blu Ray set, which was great, but the images, CGI, colors really pop in this 4K version. The Steel Book comes with a really wee made metal case. I wish they had included paper maps. If you like Lord of the Rings, you should definitely buy the 4K set.

Everything here is done beautifully. The steelbooks look great and the box that holds them is sturdy and looks nice as well. The movies themselves are obviously fantastic and the 4K treatment is splendid. Just a heads up though. No special features are included. Overall, a more than worthy purchase for fans of LotR.

I've been waiting for uniquely designed steelbooks for arguably the best trilogy of all time. I'm glad the 4K release finally delivered. While the designs themselves leave a little to be desired, they're still a welcomed addition to my collection. A note for Best Buy employees, please be more careful with your boxcutters. I have a little scratch in the trilogy case itself most likely from a box cutter.

These films look absolutely gorgeous and sound thunderously bombastic! AND THEY REMOVED THE GREEN TINT FROM THE EXTENDED EDITION OF 'FELLOWSHIP', HALLELUJAH! With a tasteful touch of DNR and gorgeous HDR/Dolby Vision color grading that stays true to Peter Jackson's vision, this 4K set is a must-buy for Middle Earth fans!

Must have for any LOTR or Steelbook collector. 4k remastering is incredible and the updated cgi is unnoticeable and looks exactly like the originals. This not only looks better than any other 4k remaster or even original. By far one of the highest picture qualities available of any media.

I have absolutely loved this special edition of the Lord of the Rings trilogy since it first came out on dvd, then I got the bluray and now this. The 4K steelbook collection is fantastic, and the only thing I can fault it is that it doesn’t include the making of discs that I’ve also watched repeatedly.

This is a must own for any fan of the series. The presentation of each film in the steelbook is awesome, and the aluminum tin that they all come in is a great touch. The film's all look amazing in 4K, and this comes with digital copy of all 3 films (both theatrical and extended editions). Highly recommend!

What else can I say? Movies look fantastic and sounds great. Only issue is the metal case came pretty beat up. It was packaged extremely poorly. I was able to straighten it out for the most part so not the end of the world. Not going to take stars off for shipping issues. 5 stars for the product itself.

Awesome 4K Picture Quality!! & Great Sound. The Beautiful Steelbook case is an added Bonus & it really displays well in my 4K bluray collection.I ordered it online & it was delivered Super Fast without a ding or any dents anywhere on it (I was one of the lucky ones) in plenty of time before Christmas.

Look, I love the LOTR as much as the next person but the picture quality here was actually kind of disappointing. The SteelBook designs are very nice with a matte finish but it appears that Peter Jackson was a bit too heavy-handed with the DNR tools (honestly, why is anyone still using these post-DVD??) It results in a semi-smeary image minus the film grain texture that should be present for movies shot on film (even if initially finished at 2K). The sound mix is aggressive and nicely separated but it's a real shame that this will probably the last time these films are transferred/upgraded and they're less than ideal. Unless you're crazy about HDR (its application here is solid) and want the revised color timing (which may or may not be more accurate to the original than the BD, that I don't know). Either way, it's fine but it's not the end all be all edition we were all hoping for. Not to mention none of the extras are included - gonna have to buy the giant set next summer for that one!

This one of my all time favorite sets. Lors of the Rings is the alltime greatest fanstasy series and this set and 4k quality live up to it. Outside steelcase arrived with some dents and damage. Steelbooks inside were fine. If you a LOTR fanatic well worth the price even it come a bit damaged. Again ship better best buy

Awesome collection! If your a lord of the rings fan this is pretty cool and a must have! The case that holds the steelbooks is pretty nice if you receive it without damage. The steelbooks have a nice artwork! Pretty excellent overall.

A classic movie in an awesome new package. The 4k remasters look even better than the HD blu ray. The art on the steal box packaging is fantastic. My only complaint was it was shipped in a padded bag and the box was slightly bent when it arrived. You might want to pick it up in the store.

A classic in the fantasy/action-adventure genre: this series resonates deeply with me as it is one of the first I was introduced to. It sparked my love for cinema. The cover art is also so, so beautiful to look at and showcase! Overall, a perfect set of steelbooks for a perfect trilogy.
