Mammoth Shark on the loose...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love movies about the water, creatures in the sea, pirates, U.S. Navy films and fantasy movies about things in or around the ocean, so naturally I had to jump in on this movie. I will rate it a 4/5 because of the cool CGI within the film which makes it awesome in that respect. The actors are a bit shaky and not top-notch quality, but a cool shark movie nonetheless. I was leaning at a 3/5 rating, but bumped it up only for the CGI on the sharks, squid and underwater sequences.

Not Like Jaws, Better!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't listen to the Haters! This is NOT like Jaws. It's Origins are Much Different than Jaws. The only way it's like Jaws is a Big(way bigger) Shark, which is a relic of the Pre-Historic Era. And People and Ships are attacked and Eaten. It would be like saying all War Movies, Superhero Movies, Romance Movies...Etc... are the same because they incorporate the same Elements! So...Don't Listen to the Haters!!! Awesome Movie!!! What a Thriller! Top Tier Actors! Jason Is a Star and Shines! The little Girl is Endearing and so is the Poor Little Yorkie! You'll Love this one! Again...NOT A Jaws Remake!

Better than expected.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have held off watching this movie thinking it may rank up there with the Sharknado films as I admittedly viewed it. My son now 12 wanted to see it though so we bought it for movie night. While the storyline is obviously farfetched it's not any different from movies like Kong and Godzilla. If you don't mind watching those films this fits in nicely with that grouping. Buy it, watch it for movie night with the family or of you simply enjoy movies about sharks.

Great movie but digital codes are expired!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.great movie and really good action movie by Jason. The only negative about buying this movie is the digital codes are not expired and Warner Brothers won't give you a replacement!!!! Most codes even if expired still work and companies generally offer free replacement codes but not for this movie.

Better than your average monster movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Somewhat predictable, but still very intense. Compelling computer graphics and "scenery" make this a believable experience. Acting is nothing to write home about, but hey, it's about a prehistoric shark that is unleashed on humanity...again!!! Oh my! Is the third time really the charm? Speaking of charm, the little Chinese actress is so adorable. This is a great pop-corn flick for the family or for couples seeking a fright night experience.

Better than Jaws
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i was very skeptical of this movie when it was released. My daughter rented it from Red Box and I watch some of it. I was very impressed and very entertained. So I purchased it to watch again and add to my movie collection. It is very entertaining. i think it's much better than Jaws. The sharks are realistic and the premise of the movie is as well. I recommend this to anyone who likes Jason S. and anyone who likes adventure or ocean movies. Lots of suspense and fun!

A fun but forgettable giant shark movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this blind knowing that it had only OK reviews. With low expectations, this movie was enjoyable but rather forgettable. There was a bit too much melodrama in what is inherently a silly concept, but it did not weigh the movie down too much. I feel that we we got was well done. Great picture and sound, so-so special features but that is ok. Overall a mild recommendation.

Well, its not Jaws.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a movie to watch if there is nothing else on the television. It is neat to see how they did the Megladon shark in CGI, the Action is okay, and the acting is average. Nothing really stands out on this movie that I can rave about. It is like a movie you would go to the movies to see on a very large screen, but your home television will work.

Better than expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not much you can say about a movie where the main character is a CGI monster, but it was by far better than expected. The 4K format looks amazing if you have the proper equipment, didn't have the extra features I was hoping it might have had on one of the disks, but I feel it was worth to buy compared to spending money to go to the theaters and see it on IMAX.

Pretty cool shark movie
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was unsure of how this movie was going to be but I was pleasantly surprised by how it plays out. The storyline was pretty good, the special effects were well done and the cast was entertaining. I can't compare it to the cinema viewing experience because I didn't see it at the movies but the 4K viewing experience on my Samsung TV was pretty good.

Love a Good shark movie
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As technology has changed so have the ability of movies to show sharks in a more realistic way. As good as Jaws was the sharks in this movie are appear more alive. The 4K resolution adds to this realism. Add a decent storyline and you have an enjoyable movie and I added this to my collection. I recommend you consider adding this as well.

A mindlessly fun and entertaining popcorn flick!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Read the title for what you get here. I found this movie to be hugely entertaining, with the caveat that there are moments that border on the ridiculous. That said, the 4K image quality is a MASSIVE upgrade to the blu-ray, and the Dolby Atmos track is a stunner. If you are into mindless popcorn flicks, with the added bonus of top-of-the-line A/V quailty, you need to add this one to your collection ASAP.

Surprisingly Entertaining and Fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn’t sure what to expect when I rented the movie for the first time. I was surprised how much I liked it. It will definitely make you jump at least once or twice. When I saw there was a 3D version available I couldn’t resist buying a copy. I thought the 3D was done pretty well and it did not distract but enhanced the entertainment factor.

Know what to expect, and you can expect to enjoy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie is what it is. It was a fun summer popcorn blockbuster. Don't go in expecting to take this movie too seriously. Just sit back and enjoy the craziness of it all. If you read the book, be ready for a few changes. That said, I think it did okay with the source material, but I wish they would have gone for an R rating version.

This movie was way more entertaining than I though
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first bought this movie I was hesitant but my son wanted it so I got it. It was jam-packed packed full of action right out of the gate. There were a lot of surprises in his movie kept you at the edge of your seat throughout the whole movie. The acting was good also I definitely would recommend this movie to anyone

Great Popcorn Movie
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Kind of corny; however, Jason Statham is his usual excellent self and the story is engaging, enough. Looks beautiful in UHD and the soundtrack is also good in surround. Can't give it five stars; however, it's well worth the four as a good popcorn movie where you leave your brain at the door. Recommended.

Action filled throw back
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie was a throwback to the earlier scary monster movies like JAWS. You know the killer creature is out there, but there is a lot of suspense built around it. When the action comes, it is fast and furious. I really enjoyed this as a Dad and my kids wanted to watch it again after seeing it in theaters.

A fun romp on (and under) the ocean.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical about this movie but as long as you don't try to take it seriously it's a fun adventure. Because the movie doesn't take itself too seriously it becomes a fun action movie. This could easily become a franchise of 2 dimensional yet memorable characters trying to survive prehistoric creatures.

"Megnificent"
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excuse the corny summary. Anyways, I loved Steve Alten's books. I've read almost everyone of his Meg series books. Even though they changed a few things with this movie versus the book, I still found the movie to be very entertaining. I find most movies that had their "origins" from actual books, to be the best movies to watch.

Support 3D releases!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this day one, even though It wasn't the best film, to support films being released on 3D blu-ray in the US. More and more films have to be imported from other countries to get the 3D version, so now ALL 3D releases in the US are day one purchases for me. A B-movie with a great cast, makes for a silly fun, 3D experience.
