Lots of interesting facts about the most influential men that helped build our country. I watched this series on the History channel and enjoyed the computer genrated effects so much that I purchased this on Blu-Ray. It gives a nice in depth look at Rockefeller, Morgan, Carnegie, Vanderbilt and Ford.

I absolutely love watching the story of how our nation was built with the help of these men. Truly fascinating! Would highly recommend this series to anyone wanting to learn about how America came to be the great nation it is.

I use this in teaching. It is pretty good History, and in a very interesting format. These characters, the "Robber Barons" of the turn-of-the-20th-century, still have an impact on American business today.

Bought this for a home schooling supplement for our children. Includes information regarding our Nations history that we were not aware of prior to watching the show.

History becomes much more interesting when it is done in a movie format rather than as a straight documentary.

I must say I thought it was good watching for entertainment. I'm no history buff, so I'm not sure how accurate it all is. I would guess there is some misrepresentation, as there is with most history nowadays. From an entertainment standpoint though, it was good.

This was a fun, interesting way to learn some historical perspective of some of the men who shaped the United States of America, as it is today. This was put out by the History Channel, and I wasn't able to watch the series on the History Channel, so I bought the Blu-Ray as soon as it came out. I only have one complaint with the series and one with the Blu-Ray/DVD. The series covered Henry Ford very little. He is the last man who built America (in the series) and it seems that they were pressed for time and just covered a few highlights of Ford and that was it. Very little depth into someone that I feel shaped America as much or more than some of the others in the series. Also, the Blu-Ray/DVD contains a 1-2 minute recap every 10 minutes or so of the previous happenings of the series. This was obviously there for the commercial breaks from the TV series, but is unneccessary if you've been watching the DVD.

Great mini series from History Channel

This is one of my favorite History channel mini-series. This series shows how several men were able to amass incredible fortunes with virtually no government oversight or regulations. But it also shows how these men were able to accomplish incredible things in such a short amount of time in our history, from the industrial revolution to the age of the automobile. My favorite part was perhaps the mention of Henry Ford and how he was able to beat the odds and able to beat the Association of Licensed Automobile Manufacturers (ALAM), which held a virtual monopoly on who could manufacture automobiles.

This video has a lot of good information on how America transformed into a growing bussiness nation and the industrial men who started it all. I watched it on the history channel, and now I am purchasing the dvd as a gift for my parents.

Overall, The Men Who Built America is very accurate in descriptions of several businessmen and entrepreneurs who helped shape America's growth; however, there was some "theatrical" elements that weren't exactly or entirely true. Great show to watch to get a snapshot view of America's shift into industrialism.
