Slow to scan and load and doesn't always read the receipt accurately which means you have to edit the receipt after the scan. Great idea, but needs work

Functionality slower that anticipated. Neat software corrupted the scan software to my HP Photosmart All In One printer.

I tried downloading programs to file my statements and receipts but could never find an easy solution. I finally ponied up the excessive dough to buy a Neat scanner and wasnt too impressed, but pleased with it. It only automatically fills in data for receipts, and some time gets those wrong. I bought it to scan statements and bills which you still have to manually enter that data. The orginization and search is nice with the program however. The scanner itself is kind of finicky. Its small size makes for good portability, but feeding paper into it can be a pain. If its not perfectly straight, the image will be skewed. And its a chore to feed it straight. Being powered only by a USB cable is a plus also..

Over all I like the product and have recommended it to others.

Against my better judgment after reading such horrible reviews, I still bought the neat receipt 5.6. I am busy enough as a self employed business owner and didn't have time to waste just to return it to the store. I spent almost 3 days ( intermittent# scanning 3 months worth of receipts and documents #approx. 1,000 pieces) in great hopes my paperwork and ability to find particular receipts would be simplified. WRONG!!! I have numerous charge accounts that I charge the same items over and over, so I was under the impression that neat could specify a particular receipt I may be looking for. 1. Unless you know the exact invoice #, neat will bring up ALL scanned docs that has the info you search for. Ex. If I purchased the same items every week at walmart and typed "walmart, oil, june 2014", I would get every document containing the words walmart, oil, june and 2014, even with advanced search. Not helpful at all. 2. More so aggravating is how SLOW the program is. That is most of the reason why it took me 3 days to scan. After I FINALLY got documents to scan, it would take over and hour for less than 100 documents to process. Now that isn't even the worst of it. Neat encounters error problems CONSTANTLY and automatically shuts down, losing anything in progress. How fun is that to go back thru to see what scanned and what didn't and do it all over again. NOT!!!!! I researched online extensively, watched videos and tried everything offered to resolve auto shut down. NOTHING WORKED!!! Just took more of my time for the same thing to keep happening. 3. Documents jam easily, which causes a "traffic jam" in the sub folders thus leaving you with unread documents. I am in the process of exporting EVERYTHING I have scanned as pdf onto a usb flash drive. Just to export approx. 10 documents, takes a good 5 minutes and another 3 or 4 mins just to delete them. If I'm going to have to search documents one by one, I may as well use the all in one machine I have, scan with that using separate folders per account. Be advised by the reviews, save your money and try something much less expensive. The concept of neat is great if only it worked as they advertise.

Bought this so that my Construction Manager out in the field could easily and faster get receipts, change orders and contracts to me. I've had the larger office NeatDesk for years and now wish I had gotten him this NeatReceipts a long time ago! Took a little time to merge and customize to our needs but nothing that reading instruction couldn't fix.

So convenient to scan in receipts and organize them with out the mess.

I have been watching/reading about this neat scanner for months! I always thought about it each time I put my receipts in my box and wait till the end of the month to actually put it in a spreadsheet to see our monthly expenses. NOW, I can just scan, toss the receipt and it's all on the computer and it can calculate it all for me for our expenses! It's AWESOME!! Im still wondering why I waited so long to get this! I am very happy with my purchase. The only tiny con is that you have to make sure your paper/receipts are not folded or bent, it will scan a little crooked! Lol! But that's with any sheet feeder scanner.

Very slow, scans unreadable by OCR, poor support, terrible software. Claims to be designed for financial professionals, but requires client data storage on Neat's cloud platform with disclaimer of privacy. If your client data is private/sensitive, this is NOT the right equipment. Had to fight for a refund to return this pricey paperweight... had to, don't use much paper anymore. For business cards and receipts there a better apps on your phone.

My biggest issue with this product is the fact that if the document you are trying to scan is not placed perfectly in the unit, it will scan it incorrectly. If it had a small guide to insure proper scanning I would of given it a 4 star rating but to be honest. It truly is a beating to use this product.
